What did you do to your Pathfinder today?

Initial plan was to just change the gear shift mechanism.
Got into it and ended up doing a deep clean on the entire passenger part of the cabin.
Who knew the shift mechanism plugs are different? Purchased one from a 2000 2wd and the plug is completely different. The rest of the unit is identical as far as I could tell.
Didn't think it would have mattered with the manual transfer case shifter.
Went even further since everything was already out and removed some trim pieces from the dash and doors and painted them red.
Ripped out the carpet and have black vinyl on order as a replacement.

Some before and after pics of the floor, painted pieces and the different plugs for the shifter.369e98025d126d9f891c4c07ca684ccb.jpg978b072762be2bca6f9137320a531ca3.jpg2cdea0fca192a2913cca49238a2da3a7.jpg59d89ef40a8fad2c2782bef90f7e4b90.jpg1e12c3230e0f4e2f8cb5fa7678773d11.jpg7ed7a051aee8bc118195532bac35df53.jpg

How did you paint the pieces? I never ever have good luck painting plastic..
Hey bud. Welcome back to the states!

The key that I learned by trial and error years ago when I used to show my rides was to paint the pieces like your painting a car. Continuous movement from side to side, starting before and spraying past the piece your painting. Stay about 10-12" from the piece. Never just point the spray can at the piece and spray. That causes too much paint to lay in one spot and causes the over spray a lot of people get.
I just take my time and spray 2-4 light coats, allowing 30 minutes to 1 hr between coats to avoid running and to ensure a consistent level of paint.
I have been pretty lucky with this method.
Before you spray the pieces though, sand the piece with some high grit paper like 500+ grit to give the paint some grip. Clean the piece well before painting it.
Also, get the better spray paint. I typically use rustoleum paint/primer that bonds to plastic.

Hope this helps.

Went to the pull a part.Found OE fog lights. Pulled a trans cooler off an explorer(although not sure of the size/rating).However it's measured. Also an original tool kit.Ran out of daylight but I'll install  the lights and cooler tomorrow.
Looks like your in Tennessee? Are you talking about Pull-A-Part in Knoxville? I live there. At Pull-A-Part every weekend and anyday during the week if im off. Lol obsessed much? Lol

Had someone walk up and offer me another one! Apparently she's got a '91, manual trans, new tires, couple of electrical gremlins. Sounded like the mileage was pretty low. $1k. It's out of my budget at the moment but if any of you are interested, let me know. I was just amused that WD21s are old enough to be conversation starters now.

Haha. I get comments on mine all the time. I tell my brother that I endured the “you look like a dirtbag” phase and am now in the “it’s cool and hipster because it’s old phase”.

I actually meant the stock housings. Those look crazy bright and bluish.

Did a little test fit of the ARB 2500 awning with the new to me Rolla rack. I am way happier with how it sits now vs my old rack on the factory crossbars.

Wow this is really nice. I am color blind but the red must really pop with that type of interior.  Maybe try dual-tone leather in the future? Beautiful work!

Much appreciated. I am thinking of going dual color on the seats. Will depend on cost. Drivers seat needs recovered. All other seats are in pretty good condition and the leather can just be dyed/conditioned.

Like the idea of just biting the bullet and having it done, even if all vinyl!

Well it looks like Nissan Frontier Dutch light brackets from Rago Fabrication work without too much fuss. Only thing that needs outsourced is qty2. 7/16” round spacers. Now you’ll only use 1 bot to hold them on but they aren’t going anywhere. Total time of install about 30 min without fender removal.

Not to my pathfinder but I installed the factory rockford fosgate subwoofer in my Xterra today. Sounds great.

Awesome man. I’m seriously considering an SQ build in my QX4. I had a stupid system in my Frontier back in the day and a moderate system not long ago in my QX4 but I had to sell it to make repairs. Love hate.

That looks nice. What’d you fill the holes in with?

it’s hard to see in the pics but i actually didn’t! i just cleaned up the rusty bits of them and sprayed the hell out of the inside with rust reformer as well as base coated the outside with it. then it’s black industrial enamel along the fenders and rockers, also same as the rear diffs paint job

Looked over my wd21 and decided to take it off the road for the season. There's too much I want to do (moving mods over from my old one), and some maintenance that will require removing the transmission (RMS). I'll drive the Xterra for the summer, and now I can work on the pathy, not worrying about putting it back together right away.

Rewired for aftermarket speakers, and ran wiring for system. Entire system running off amp power now vs. head unit.
"Vintage" Alpine v12 amp, kicker C2 6.5 coaxial, 10" kicker solo baric L7. Just waiting on speaker box to arrive to get sub installed!
Re-ran the cb radio to the glove box. We'll see how functional it will be in their since I will have to take the mic on and off. Barely use it though so may not be an issue at all for me.
Also changed out the gear shifter. This has fixed the overdrive issue I was having, just dont have option to turn it on now, but never used it anyways.
Vinyl flooring arrived. Not truly premolded imo, but have it leveling out now per instructions.
Next step- getting her sprayed in the next couple of weeks! Super excited about the color.
