Forgot What I Was Driving Today

I'm so upset. I pulled up next to some cuties in a new Sentra 2.0S. Thinking I was cool, excuse the ricer moment, I revved my engine and slammed the gas to keep up with them and attempt to get a better look. Yeah, needless to say I failed at keeping up with a 2.0L I-4 in my Pathfinder. Time to make some money so I can start keeping up lol.

or stay tuned for my upcoming cam install and maybe you will try one too! (feels like its taking forever to get it done)

JJ your truck feels pretty good don't it? I mean its not a sports car but a newer engine with decent regrind cam I'm sure its got more pep than most pathys.

Hard to say actually but I was expecting more after all that work. My old roommate had a stock 95 auto and I seem to remember it having a bit more pep. Then again, he had stock rims and tires with no lift and drove it like a Corvette. I think I'm going to try porting the intake manifold as well and play with the timing a little to see what happens.

I would love to do new cams, new exhaust and maybe a sip of NOS lol. But I think I'm gonna be getting a Mazdaspeed6 this summer, so I'll more than likely be able to keep up with a Sentra or a Geo Prizm. If even just barely. =P

IMO Porting will slow you down because tho you can fit more air thru a port it will be @ a lower velocity.

Moto Mans articles ar quite contravsial but in the case of small engines, I belive what he says about intake shaping...

The first 2 articles cover the concept pretty good and the last 2 just go even more in depth with the "porting actions"

While that's true, the air also flows with less restriction, making it easier for the engine to pull in air to the cylinders. So air velocity doesn't necessarily slow down until you reach some other restriction (intake, exhaust, cam, etc). This is one thing I didn't see him address on his website but I only took a quick look.

Either way, I say go for it :aok: there's always stuff to port and polish out on high-production manifolds
