Tungsten
WTF is that, who are they, and why did they use it?? B they meaning the shop that did my exhaust i have to change the seal between the y pipe flange and the midpipe flange with that permatex copper stuff (or take it back and let them put it on lol) the muffler cement that was there has broken and developed a leak for some reason muffler cement does not stick to these Doug Thorley coated pipes BTW, that clamp works great, maybe ill buy another one and mail it to Doug Thorley and damn these pipes are so tough, if you use a regular muffler clamp you will break it lol Edited November 20, 2009 by Tungsten
Tungsten
UPDATE ok so i got the flowmaster 60 on there with new gaskets and all that and the sound is still there im guessing it is the slip fitting and it needs some silicone in there this vibration also trips the knock sensor and causes the engine to act funny Edited December 3, 2009 by Tungsten
bitemedoughboy.com
Is there somewhere you can take it to that can remove some of the coating on the pipes, just enough to weld? yeah its called a grinder
Tungsten
alright i put some tack welds on it and some silicone tack welds are easy to snap when you have to BUT THE SOUND IS STILL THERE well i found out that the catalytic converter dislodged itself inside and now is bouncing around in there looked clean but wtf its broken and its tripping my knock sensor
packie88
take it to an exhaust shop and have them but a ball/socket joint on the header and the y pipe. they dont leak and will flex a little and stay sealed under loads. much better design imho.
