JohnBoy
I read all the shifting into 4 wheel threads but I have to admit after owning my 95 over a year now I never needed to go into 4 wheel drive and never tried. Well today for @!*%s and giggles I tried moving the shifter into 4hi and it won't budge. I did have the regular shifter in neutral. The truck was stopped while I attempted this. So wondering what might be causing this or what am I doing wrong?

adamzan
Pull harder, after not using it on my truck for a long time, I had to use 2 hands and really reef on it to get it to move. Hope that works.
JohnBoy
I don't know am a pretty strong guy and that lever doesn't seem to want to move, I don't want to force it and break something???
GrimGreg
Might get out the PB Blaster, crawl under the truck and spray the linkage and shifter pivots really well. Let that sit a while, soak it again then try to move the shifter. The pivot might just be froze from lack of use.

It takes two hands to pull the lever into 4wd, and takes my foot to kick it back up into 2wd. My uncle had the Pathy sitting for years before he gave it to me. I guess he never put it in 4wd.
