Yonah
Hello all, just registered on these forums to ask a question. I am considering an R50 Pathfinder for my next car, but need to know something about the interior dimensions first. What I need to know is this: If the rear seats are removed and a wall put up behind the front seats, is there enough room in the rear to fit a box that is 140cm(55in) long, 90cm(35in) wide and 105cm(41in) high? Strange question? I'll bet... 10 points for guessing why I would need to know this. I have found some blueprints for the facelifted model on the net. Studying them gave me the impression that it wouldn't work. But since the prints may have been inaccurate and my interpreting worse, it would be great if someone who actually owns an R50 could give me a hint. Yonah
jj big shoe: I'll keep that idea in mind, very creative... mzxtreme: That would be the same as I found from the blueprints. I thought it might be possible to get close to 1m in heigth, but maybe not all the way to 1,05m. Was just looking for someone to confirm that. NismoSkyZ
I highly doubt that it would fit height-wise, but the rest of the dimensions seem okay. Huge sub box?
projekz
I'm guessing an ATV or a Go-Cart...I'll measure right now
projekz
It has well over the lenght you require, the width is good too...but it only has about 33" to 34" inches high...just measured everything with the seats down Edited August 18, 2007 by projekz

zonianbrat
And if you are walling it off to transport something and not for subs then I would recommend a pickup truck.
Yonah
projekz: Thanks a lot for checking it out. That pretty much concludes it for me. It will not fit. Not that it means I won't buy a Pathy... Despite much creative guessing on why I asked the question, none were even close. It is actually an issue of money. $22.000 vs. $36.000 to be more precise. You see, Nissan never imported any Pathfinders to Norway before the 05-version, which I quite frankly don't like. So to get a proper Pathy, I need to import one myself, from Germany for example. And thanks to a rather interesting tax system for registering cars over here, the storage space in the rear makes quite a noticeable difference. If a car has no seats behind the front seats and can fit a box with the dimensions I asked about, it can be registered as a van. Vans are only taxed 20% of ordinary cars. So with some boring numbers, I can show you the whole picture: Used Pathfinder: $15.000 Import taxes: $4.000 Registration taxes: $17.000 If I register it as a van, I can cut $13.600 off the registration taxes just for yanking out the back seats. Not the end of the world, but enough for me to look into the possibility. So, that was a lenghty explanation you might not care about. Just wanted to tell you what I wasted your time on, leaving you in the dark would be rude i think. Maybe I should look into special taxation on cars with waterbeds in the back... projekz
Wow...not even close to a go-cart... Reading your last post I was thinking to myself " wow, that a lot of money for taxes and import fee" Then I went to convert your Norwegian Kroner into Canadian money. 10 000$ of your money is worth about 1840$ Canadian or 1733$ US. Not so bad...
projekz
Does this look like home?
Yonah
Nice picture projekz... Just missing the penguins and polar bears. I just wanted to point out that the sums listed were approximate numbers in USD, therefore the $-sign. So you can just keep thinking that it is a lot of money, it is. But then again the pathfinder is a lot of car, so I still think it would be worth it. Just need to find the time to go fetch one in Germany. (1 USD ~ 6 NOK)
02silverpathy
Would removing the front passenger seat help? Or maybe this is just a square dimension that you need. If it is cubic space then pull out that passenger seat also...van's do not have to have a passenger!
