Mattman30
I was just wondering why 4 cylinder Pathfinders are sought-after. Or am I mistaken about this? Thank you for your time.
GhostPath
I was just wondering why 4 cylinder Pathfinders are sought-after.Or am I mistaken about this? Thank you for your time. I think you're mistaken. I don't know of anyone that wants one.
RedPath88
I am sure that there are some who want them, maybe because they are rare here or perhaps because the engine is a time tested and proven unit... unless I am mistaken it is the same Z24 that had been in Nissan rigs for some time before the Pathfinder came into being. Something that more people appear to want here in North America is a Diesel which is even more rare, perhaps that is what you are hearing about? Mattman30
No, I didn't know there were diesel ones until recently. I own an 87 4 cylinder pathfinder and I was just wondering about it. But you're right, it is a very good running engine, it's never given me problems at all except a little high idle, but it doesn't even leak oil or anything. I kinda wish it had a little more power though...
Mattman30
Oh, and yes it is a Z24i with 2 spark plugs for each cylinder and TBI.
RedPath88
Welcome to the club, even most of the V6 owners wish we had a "little more power" Yep I know it's the Z24, but what I meant was that they made no major changes to it for the new line of trucks (Hardbody's and Pathfinders)

sw
it is a GM Holden engine the aus spec is 3.8L efi v6 the yank spec is 4.3 carby i believe the aus spec dumps all over the nissan v6. i do agree with others tho. the z24 not a bad little motor, just a bit small for a 4wd.
