1988 PAthfinder XE-V6 2-door VG30i with 5-speed. has a little over 180K but runs like a gem and fits great down the trails I know best. this is my first 4x4 ever to own and I'll never go back! Totally stock except for a little bit of minor emissions work and exhaust adjustment.

  1. Hey your welcome =) Im from Everett, WA.

  2. is going on vacation and will miss driving my truck but time with the wife and kid is always great

  3. Yep. All is well. I even tried new fuses just in case. still no lights in dash, corners or headlamps
  4. 1988 Pathfinder XE w/ factory fog light option.Went mudding tried to turn on my lights to drive home and had no dash lights, no running lights, no dims just brights and fogs. checked:fuses, switch, bulbs, connections. Please help! There is no water anywhere near my lights and the mud didnt even splash on them(weird)considering the coverage of mud on my truck!
  5. Hey happy bday man!

  6. It does have an oil leak that is consistent but not significant in amount. It always drips but never looses more than a couple drips while sitting. From what I can tell it doesn't leak when it's running. I will def check cap and rotor and I was considering checking the trans fluid level but I have not been able to find any GL4 but I am OK buying it online and having it shipped. Is there a specific brand that would be best for a budget minded fellow? Thanks!
  7. I have a 1988 XE-V6 5-speed I am a weekend Warrior who makes my own trails then running them and occasionally tackling ditches and rocks that shove the tires pretty far up into the wells. Here is my question: The truck has 190005 miles on it and still runs fine but was not treated extremely well before I bought it a year ago and while I don't abuse it, i definitely use it for fun and regular transportation. I've changes spark plus and wires but that's really it. I know there is more to change but I guess I don't know where to start on a small to medium budget. Long-term wishes like lifting and bigger rolling stock are just that... long-term. Right now, I guess i'm looking for just the next step as far as keeping it running well and correctly. THat's all I'll say for now. hope to hear from you soon. i'll try to add a pic soon Thanks for your comments
  8. ok, we're good. thanks guys. oh yeah, with 93 in the tank this time it runs a lot better and doesn't make the extra noise around 4k now. it's gone so it must have been pre-detonating right?

  10. There is a really awesome place with Trail ratings from one to five in SW MO. It is SMORR in Seymour, MO. I'll be heading down there soon and hope you guys can get there too. just google Seymour, mo off-road and it is the first or second selection. Happy trails
  11. Yeah well I know sometimes it is right as far as what is marked but I also know sometimes those stock tachs can be misleading. I am running 31X10.50's and have stock gears all around. It makes an extra noise around 4 grand too... know anything about that? like a tick or similar to vtec when the timing changes...
  12. yeah it is a standard. man well that makes a lot more sense. it's torquey so i figured it just didn't rev too high kinda like other truck engines. cool
  13. Hey i know this might be a simple or noob question but what is the redline for a 88 vg30i? I usually shift mine around 3 grand but have done it at 4 before. also wanted to know if you have had yours running at 3000 or 3100 at 70 or if mine is high with these numbers
  14. It was brought to my attention that in order to lift my stock 88 xe i'd have to lengthen the brake lines and other issues like that otherwise it would cause obvious adverse effects. Is this true? Can I do a lift of 3 or less and leave everything the same as far as brake lines and such. Does it make a difference if i do a body lift verse a susp lift concerning these issues? Thanks for helping a noob!
  15. I'll take two of everything please. thank you. har har har that's a slick ride keep crawlin!
