  1. Yes I have GL-4. Thanks for looking out for me. I did glance under there, and thought I saw a hex, so thank you on that.
  2. Before I crawl underneath, can anyone tell me the size of both the fill and drain plugs. I can tell they are allen hex's but they look to big for what I have now, so I need to go buy a set that will fit. Thanks guys. Richard
  3. Ok. Replaced the dimmer switch, blinker/headlight/cruise switch and the wiper switch - all with the radio pulled out and disconnected. Also had the taillight fuse blown, so replaced that one. Everything works. But i should have done it one item at a time so i knew what it was that was bad. lol I guess my best bet would be to check each wire for the aftermarket radio to make sure all is correct. Everyone agree with that? It is very possible that the original components that I removed are still good. If it was the radio to begin with.
  4. ok. bought a dimmer switch, headlight and blinker switch. They should arrive tomorrow. I already took apart the aftermarket radio, sterring column, and pulled out the dimmer switch to get ready for the replacement. Does anyone had the factory wiring diagram for the factory radio? Most fo the wires from the aftermarket are labled, but it looks like they used a nissan pigtail and spliced. Any ideas on checking wires on this...
  5. Yes, the po did install or had installed and aftermarket radio. Haven't even thought of breaking that down. I did check all fuses and all are good. Only blown bulbs on all four corners, cluster out, and radio display out. Guess I will look into that too. Thanks.
  6. Thanks. I did notice the radio display is not working, the other lights on the buttons are. Strange! I will also look into the radio wiring. I just bought this last week, so I am finding out everything for the first time. Fuses - on my '93, can anyone tell me where all the fuses are located? Drivers side under the steering wheel, and passenger side under the hood. Where else? Thanks
  7. Yes my visor (drivers side) had, lol, wiring for the vanity mirror. After researching the web tonight others with the problem said the posibillities were a bad dimmer switch and possibly the headlight switch was shorting out. I plan on switching all new bulbs tomorrow. Will keep you all informed. Anyone else have any ideas? All welcome.
  8. The other day I had a blinker go out. No big deal. Replaced the bulb. Last night I was driving and the typical sun visor problem was just getting on my nerves. So I pull the visor off. Don't need it anyway. ugh! When I did the dash lights went out. Ok, Im thinking i blew a fuse as the wires came out. So I went home, and found no fuses blown. Well, I had to go this morning and get a Texas state inspection. Low and behold driving tails are out as well as the front parking lights. The filaments are blown. On the rear both driving filaments are blown, but the brake filament works just fine. Now I have to replace 4 bulbs. Afraid to put them in and this happen all over again. Any ideas guys? Need to get inspected, deer season opens Nov. Thanks for any advice.
  9. No havent even thought about the timing belt. Have done plugs, wires, air filter, oil, and oil filter, fuel filter, and coolant. Next will be checking the tranny fluid and gear oil.. Any advice on the gear oil issues? This is one area I am new to. About the bumper..I grabbed a piece of structural tubing 3" x 6" x .125 wall, 8' long. I could have some fun with that.
  10. Hey all! Just found you guys. Sorry it took so long. Just bought a '93. As I was told she came from Ohio and had been fighting undercarriage rust, and a little body rust (where the front of the rear fenders met the rocker). The factory nurf bars were destroyed, so I had to remove them. As they were a safety issue. Don't worry, I removed them the right way even though the bolts were completely rust/welded together. The po added a Yakima luggage rack and wind guard on the roof. Also he added an afer market cd/radio. She sits on factory 'legos' wrapped with 31.5*10. She has 172K miles. Equiped with a receiver hitch and the factory spare and swing bracket. I guess thats about it about the truck. Oh by the way, I paid $2000. Was this a good deal generally speaking? It was to me the body and interior is in great shape and no leaking of any kind. About me: I live just 40 miles East of Houston and yes, still recovering from Hurricane Ike. Born and raised here. Always loved and still enjoy working cars of all kinds. I am just starting on my '48 Willys CJ2A jeep. A complete frame off restore. I am a mechanical designer for the 2nd largest well servicing company in the world, and have been a 3d designer for 15 years. I loe to fabricate anything. I now have a couple of questions for you experienced guys/gals. 1. Is there a company or a guy out there that makes tubular rear bumpers? My end caps are complete rusted through and the location of the frame/bumper brackets on the center portion are rusting. I have ideas and may build my own. I would like to add my jerry cans maybe.
