  1. Funny, I converted to an xterra pump based on what Nissan nut's experience. Hoped it was worth it. I did take pictures of the internals between the two for comparison which can be found on photobucket Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
  2. How is your battery? Get it tested? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
  3. I did it both ways. Seeing how I was gutting the innards, I ended up rebuilding the whole thing. I would keep your original trans only and if only you had all the parts to do it. You would need the said shaft, the adapter housing and t case. Getting shaft is hard since it involves some slight disassembly of the front section of the trans to remove the c clip that holds the shaft in place. Most people just buy the 4wd trans and tcase attached. Also I do not know the crossmember differences for the r50s. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
  4. Manually was done with key only on outside. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
  5. The housing is the same between a 2wd and 4wd. The difference would be the input shaft length for 2wd and 4wd for the transfer case and an extra clutch disk and steel I believe. I can't remember if first gearing was the same for the car 50s. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
  6. Perhaps you switched a plug with it? Whats wrong Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
  7. Man that's sad to hear. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk

  9. I'm going to have to check my oil pump when I get around to installing mine.
  10. I had my injectors cleaned locally and found out one way completely dead.
  11. Just be aware you are going to be nickled and dimed to death doing a budget SAS build. Cost effective way is to know how to weld and make sure you have everything ready to go in one shot. It would be a waste of a high pinion to go spring under. Leaf springs are always the cheapest route of course and quickest to do. I know of a guy who can set you up quick and fast if you want to go spring over front and rear. One day I'll go coils but until then my fine with what I have as I don't wheel much anymore.
  12. I still use them from time to time but I'm pretty much in the same boat you are. I mostly use Nissan parts deal and courtesy depending on final price.
  13. Anything for a maxima 300zx or 240sx will work. You will need to modify the turn signal cancel bumps to work better.
  14. All custom if you relocate it. Either stop mudding or make a MUD guard for it.
  15. I think you can. Why can't you get it to budge? No breaker bar or long pipe?
  16. Fusible links is located at the positive lead of the battery terminal. Follow the wires and you will see them all.
  17. The crankshaft pulley has the pulleys for all the belts. The pulley is attached to the harmonic balancer which then is bolted down with 6 bolts to the harmonic balancer. The harmonic balancer is what is slotted in the keyway of the crankshaft snout.
  18. The VG33 will need you to swap stuff over from your old motor for it to work. It's been discussed numerous times.
  19. Vg33 from an xterra or Frontier. Check your gas tank for rust if it's been sitting for so long.
  20. Check the coolant elbow that feeds the lower intake plenum up front of the motor under the top coolant tube. Also check to make sure the hoses in the back for the heated throttle body.
  21. Do you hear the solenoid click when you step on the brake pedal? The pin may be sticking.
  22. 14x1.5x50mm fine thread is stock. 60mm should be good. When I had Uca, 55 was fine for me.
  23. Could be a bad distributor. Pull cap and rotate crank until rotor points at number one. You could use your timing marks on your crank pulley to verify.
  24. This is what it looks like inside the gas tank. This is the baffling that the pump kind of sits in. Pictured here is my old rusted pump that failed and its replacement. The spring loaded bar pushes down on the bottom of the gas tank and "zeros" your fuel gauge. The float as you see does not actually touch the bottom as the pump area is actually lower than the rest of the tank.
