  1. I drove it Its been sitting a lot since the clutch screwed up. Clutch is fixed and new headers and 2.5" exhaust in the process but I've still got more stuff that needs done... But I was able to load it up and sell some stuff from CL today so I'm happy.
  2. They are getting pretty scarce. Back in the early 2000's they could (wow it weird saying that) be found for $2-300 and new units were available for $600 (nismo Frontier LSD) Now used sometimes go for $600 and up. Every Z31 I have ever seen in a JY is either open diff or the Diff has already been removed. MR510 had one in the front his pathfinder (the rear was also modified) and it managed to give us quite a bit of fun... (the better the wheeler the more stuck it can get) The Z31 CLSD's are ramped so the more torque that is applied the harder they lock up.
  3. I think he meant the first gen 300zx (z31) CLSD (except the white shiro edtion which was the only Z31 to get a VLSD all others were open or CLSD)
  4. lol I'm running a wd21 fan and clutch on it right now... Most of it will be so custom that what fits on it may not fit other S30's
  5. Going into an AWD conversion for an S30
  6. I wonder if that shaft tube would bolt to the other side? On the R200 version it is pressed in and welded...
  7. I have a R180 rear diff from a Z that will be becoming a front diff... It will be off center just like the pathfinder It just doesn't have an extension tube on it (yet)
  8. Moreso I was interested in the extension housing and long Stub shaft that runs under the engine but I think In the long run I may end up making my own custom.
  9. I meant the old r180 if/when you are done with it... I have a project that involves an R180...
  10. So what are your plans for that R180 if you find an R200? I would like to see pictures of it and possibly may need more after that...
  11. 87-95 WD21 & D21 Pathfinder and Pickup 00-04 WD22 & D22 Xterra and Frontier They all fit the same BUT THERE IS A DIFFERENCE... In the early 90's they started running a narrower chain. (everything else internally is the same just the chain is different) The narrower chain only effects the most hard core rock crawlers with lockers and T-case gears And those who get airborne a lot in 4 wheel drive... <if you are one of these two the narrower chain stretches faster (It was $400 from Nissan). But for everyone else the chain should last a lifetime.
  12. I told him on the 15th, Its only been a few days. He's fallen pretty far behind this time and he's probably started with the oldest first... SQUIRREL! Wait what? Give him a few more days and then Quote this message if you want me to reach out to him again. (I do not receive PM, or thread reply emails, only quoted post emails... odd but that's how it works.)
  13. I just spoke to him yesterday but I had no idea you guys were wanting to reach him. https://www.facebook.com/ExperimentalEngineering?fref=ts or VG33swap@vg30.com I'll let him know he may have some messages waiting.
  14. Xterra booster showed up yesterday. I might give it a shot this weekend.
  15. Don't buy Kobalt (Lowes) From frequent use I will get a flashing screen in under a week. (low battery alert) and they tend to loose their Zero. not re-zero but totally like random lost... how do I have a 1" gap that reads 3"... This is my 3rd one under warranty and I have been ignoring the flashing screen for months because it the battery still tests good. Genuine Mitutoyo, I've used for I don't know how long (years?) before changing batteries and never had any other issues.
  16. The shocks and the control switch should still be available from Nissan. Just need to run wires and 12v power source. There is a full diagram in the 1994 FSM... http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Pathfinder/ Nope. The Rancho system uses compressed air. The pathfinder uses a 12v valving adjustment inside the shock.
  17. Look over on Nissan4wheelers.com As said above fab is involved but I seem to recall folks using Toyota pit man arms for their solid axle crossover steering among other things...
  18. So what ratio is in your R180 front diff?
  19. I'm just jealous you have a QD32. I would love to build a QD32+turbo with a modified injection pump but That's not gonna happen where I live.
  20. Grounding Turns the Light on. If you have no light you either have some oil pressure or its unplugged lol. Not really a fail safe design.
  21. normal 12 Point socket or 12 point box wrench. The connector is the same one found on many factory ground leads, distributor "grounds" and temp sending units. You can also just crimp a female spade on the end of the wire and go with that, It will last longer than the original.
  22. energy suspension has a verity listed by seat style (stepped or ground flat) and diameter. I slipped (with wd40) some 1/2" heater hose over the top and bottom of my wife's MOOG cargo coils on the '93. This fits the spring perch real snug after you put the weight of the vehicle on it. Next time mine has the springs that loose I will be doing the same.
  23. I repeat, the mounting points on the carrier (housing) are different. With some fab skills you might make it work but it is not a direct fit.
  24. The R50 Front diff carrier and gears will not fit any any vehicle other than an R50. Its mounting points are different and its gears are reverse cut.
