  1. OK, the "meter" fuse upper right fuse failed, sort of. it had voltage but could not carry any load. once replaced all works thank you EL-7 in the manual

  3. ok, I was driving to summer camp whith my son, after 1.5 hours of heavy throttle mountain driving I turnned off the road and threw it in 4 high and that is when it happend: 1. no OD button 2. no instruments (Fuel, Temp, or Speedo. rpms well its a 95 so you know) 3. no pwr/econ switch 4. tranny will not kick down 5. tranny will not shift automatically 6. no A/C 7. no A/C Clutch 8. no blower 9. starter solenoid will not energize all lights work, engine runs and charges normally, car will start it I jumper the starter soleniod and ignition is in "run", radio works. I was able to drive the 90 miles home after this happened by shifting manually there are no blown fuses, no visibly damaged fusable links, no visibly damaged harnesses even on tranny. no disconnected plugs that I can find. Starting to think I blew the computer? Any Ideas?
  4. yea, that is the intention. I recently had the motor out to do a RMS and exhaust studs, and the distributer was removed to get at the bypass hose while it was out. so this thing should be on the 4th mark @~750rpm? remember when they used to number the dampner?
  5. ok, Need to time my pathy, the book shows 4 timing marks {TDC,10,20,30} well my engine has 7 marks ummm, anybody know what they are?
  6. thats what I thought, I was hoping there was some sort of window amplifier, once I get the engine back in I will lube the hell out of the windows.

  11. ok, so I have a CEL and it is the EGR, so I pulled the unit and cleaned it seems to work smooth. now there are three things in this system how do you test them? the EGR Valve - check if this holds vacuum? the BPT valve - ? The Control solenoid - ? I wanna check this and the solenoid and bpt are not in the manual or my haynes. need to pass smog NLT halloween
  12. Found the problem!!! The exhaust gasket just forward of the precat right after the y comes in had a copper gasket that was made of several copper plies. well there was a leak and the separated plies were acting like a reed in a musical instrument
  13. have not been on here in some time, crazy to see that this post is still active. R2 is still alive and well, but I removed my A/C belt today and it is mostly gone. I am thinking of taking her out for a quick spin with no belts this W/E. I am having a ticking from the motor on the passenger side (most likely the common cause) I cannot find any problems, gonna do a seafoam treatment and that should show me the leaks origination point . I cleaned and reassembled the rocker rail assemblies, lifter holder and rebuilt the lifters today and the tick is still there.
  14. I am gonna look in the pan then do some more troubleshooting 4x, econ/powr swithc etc, reverse , od button etc... I do have a leaky RMS, maybe it is time to change it
  15. OK I have a 95XE 4x4 with an auto (external cooler) Ok here is the deal, when I am driving, in any gear, if I go over about half throttle it starts to whistle/whine. It sounds exactly like when R2-D2 get shot in the X-wing fighter and continues to make that noise until I go below half throttle. (sounds dumb but it sounds exactly like that) family actually laughs about it in when it happens It does not do it when it is in park at any rpm it does not do it while rolling (at speed) and in neutral at any rpm it does do it in any gear mainly under load and stops immediatly after throttle imput is decreased I do not know if it does it in 4x, cannot remember.

  18. thanks for all the replys just did the timing belt today cuz the owner had no clue when it was done. Now it looks as though I have a RMS leak I guess I am learning my Pathy inside and out
  19. I was looking for a rig to go out shooting with, was looking at heep cherokees, but Superdave made me buy my new 95xe, unfortunatly I did not get quite the steal he did, but oh well. So far it seems to be a great little ride. I have a few small things that need fixed, but who doesn't I live in Queen Creek and figured it was high time to go out in the desert and play
