  4. did your input shaft have any play at alll im thinking it could be this, because ther was a considerable amount of freeplay suggesting that a bearing would be shot to @!*% in the trans?? cheers ben
  5. yes i replaced the throw out/thrust bearing? only thing i can think of is the gear box is on its way or maybe gear oil level is way low? i didnt end up changing it at the time as the drain plug did not want to budge i'm goin to do the oil change this weekend see how it goes one thing i noticed during driving this week was it is only noisy in 1,2,3 and 5th gear 4th gear was normal and quiet any other suggestions on wat it couild be please feel free to mention it cheers Ben
  6. all back together now but the light grinding sound is still there its on idle but when i get on the clutch the grinding stops any ideas
  7. another question got it all back together but.... the 19mm front anchor on the lower control arm silly nissan decided to put a nut and bolt there with out tacking it like many other points on the pathy any way theres not enough room for me to fit a ringy or open ender in the Xmember to get to the bolt head,... howd did you guys go about it cheers Ben really wnat to get the pathy back on the road
  8. hows it goin guys and girls am in the middle of removing the transmission as the thrust/throw out bearing is makin a whole lot of noise now iv got all trans separated from the block but it still in place cos of the input shaft and now the transfer case is now fouling the torsion bars mount problem is, did i have to take off the mount that holds the torsion bars and transfer case off aswel ive taken off the gearbo mount and thought it would be enough but theres no more room to slide the whole unit out due to the torsion/transfer case mount in the frickn way any tips would be greatly appreicated cheers Ben

  10. hey sw it didnt have any fueling dramas it had heat issues trying to make it up a hill if i had tried it on gas i highly doubt it would have made it up ther at all is there a data sheet with all the specs on either motor z24 and vg30 wat direct engine replacement would you go
  11. gday all as the topic suggests am wanting more torque from the motor but want to keep the duel fuel system any thoughts on how to go about it without goin VG30 i will sumtime later down the track though it had some issues driving up the hill even when i ran the petrol stressed out the lil motor cheers lads

  15. gday lads am new to the 4x4 seen just swapped my mini truck for a 88 d21 pathy and enjoying it very much i hav to do a bit of work to it atm but so far it has an ARB bar, fog lamps, bilstien suspension, dual fuel, long range tank, 31x10 tyres atm and the mighty z24 lol i am going to enjoy reading the tech posts and doing some future mods to it but 1st things 1st and fix the body work cheers Ben

  18. hi all am new to the site, and just gto my hands on an 88 2dr pathfinder which i swapped for my mini truck i was having a look under the chassis to familerise myself with it and noticed this the upper control arm is rubbing against the shock is this normal?? im guessing the previous previous owner must of accidently mounted them on the wrong sides or are they from another vehicle can any1 post up a pic of the front end to the see difference please thanks Ben
