  2. Freaking "BRAND NEW" starter went bad...hasnt been on the truck for 6 weeks! Grrrr

  3. Truck sat for almost a year as I was saving to repair transmission...starter went bad, alternator followed shortly (thanks to mud wasps...) and now, my compresssor goes belly up. A sitting truck will fall apart if not maintained.

Yeah it's not good to have them sitting. Put up on jack stands, drain the oil and remove battery

maybe a car cover while your at it? storing a car outside is rough, but lubing cylinder walls, fuel stabilizer, and an oil change is very beneficial, also maybe starting it without fuel to get oil into the important places? do a quick google search there are plenty of tips on outside storage.

I know this thread is old, I’m looking to do a spare tire/ jerry can mod for the rear bumper on my 2008 Parhfinder

  7. Website down. Need to take some time and get it sorted out. Sorry guys.

  8. New transmission, torque converter and rear main installed. I have reverse again!

Good news and good work, it is amazing just how useful that feature can be!

  9. Can I take a 2wd trans from a 98 pathy and remove the tail shaft and put ony T case on her? Site unseen, maybe someone has been here before...

    1. Tungsten

      Tungsten

I am going to say yes because the T-case is detachable and the transmission is the same.

      Hmmm interesting

  10. So after 337K miles, this trans has lost reverse. This sucks.

Yeah that ain't bad, that transmission doesn't owe you anything at that mileage... I take it you've kept up with maintenance given the surprising mileage. Get an HD version of the trans as Tungsten said unless you want a manual swap of course.

Mine died after 163k. :) Seems to be a rash of people losing reverse lately though.

That is a good amount of mileage, even most domestic transmissions don't last that long.

  11. So it is quite the bummer having only that Pathfinder to drive, as we have sold the wife's Altima... Nice to have that debt gone for sure, but it really REALLY dampens my plans for world domination through drive train swappage...

Yes, we too only have 1 vehicle. Just try to enjoy the feeling that A) it's paid for, B) is virtually indestructible C) you can fix it when needed & D) it allows to to vent on NPORA!

Not one cylinder as in the motor, but one forklift propane cylinder...

I believe with a properly tuned propane setup the most power you will lose is 7-10%. in some scenarios propane runs better than gas. like in the cold, or under light throttle conditions. look it up. if you do it right you can convert it to dual fuels and run both if you like. it is a viable option.
