  2. What does the clutch damper do anyway?. When I am pulling away from a stop and using a lot of clutch, like when starting up a hill, I get some judder in the clutch as I am engaing (or disengaging, whichever it is, letting out the pedal) Also sometimers it will go into a gear easily, but sometimes not. I push in the cltuch and not only will it not go into any gear if not in gear, if it is already in a gear, it's hard to get out of it. I have to try again with the pedal, and sometimes that improves things. When this happens, I have to push pretty hard to get into first gear, which, of course, I don't like to do. Oddly, when I do this, it does not grind, which makes me wonder if my linkages are out of line. So I'm going to bleed the system starting with the damper, and if bleeding doesn't work, I'll start rebuilding or replacing, but the parts store doesn't show anything about replacement dampers. Do these part wear out much and are they vital? Thanks! I love my Pathy!
  3. Thanks for the help so far. Do you guys have any recomended suppliers? As for installing them, and getting the o-ings to seat, I'm toying with the idea of inserting the injector, then pulling it right out to see if the o-ring is OK or squashed. I figure, if it gets squashed, I'll know right away. Much better than putting the whole thing back together and finding outit didn't seat. If it isn't squashed, it went in fine once it will most likely go in again, right?
  4. My 92 started misfiring on start up for about half a minute, then the msfire became permanent. Since it was absolutely consistent I figured it had to be an injector. I removed the upper plenum and checked the injectors and sure enough, one shows no continuity and will not open when I apply voltage. So what are the latest success stories in getting replacement injectors? Rebuilt or new? I'm not exactly made of money, but this PF, with about 165K miles, runs great and is in very good shape, so it would be better for me to put in extra money if replacing all injectors is a recommendation. The other injectors seem fine but after twenty years how long will that last (I know, who can say)? Can someone help me with a good supplier and brand names? Any advice on what to look out for will also be appreciated. Thanks, this forum has been a great help. Man, I love my Pathfinder! One of the best cars I've ever owned.
  5. Same symptoms here, on my 92 SE. Started a long time ago,they would peg but then read right after a while. After they did that for a couple years, they stopped reading right altogether. There is no wiring diagram for the instrument cluster in my Chilton book, so I don't have much to go on, but I have seen a diagram on this board. Judging from that diagram I think it still must be the regulator, because there is no other component that the gas and temp gauges have in common. Everything else in the cluster works right, so I know it has power and ground. I plan on changing mine soon.
