  1. Hello, I'm  new member. I'd like to say I'm honored to have found a good forum for pathfinders. First let me say Ive always been a fan of Nissan since I have owned 3 different 280's and one 300 in my days.  But I must say I have always like the look of the D21 harbody trucks. recently I was looking for an early model to make a daily driver back and forth to work during bad weather, being I'm a full time fire fighter. during my search I was looking for the 4X4 version for snow and hurricane days. Needless to say during my search I found a Pathfinder with the front end of the D21 hard bodies, and instantly fell for it. I was able to buy it for 2000.00 with what was told to me minor issues. Before I wanted to dry it back and fourth I had to go through it completely and replaced the whole front end now, and ordered all new parts for anew timing belt change out with everything to change while in there. I have been a mechanic in my past on big trucks and robots, but not a lot of cars or trucks, just my own. during my over haul I have learned quite a bit so far about these vehicles and want to be able to share when I can. But on little things I will need your guys help. Thanks again.

When I was 16 years old, I knew I wanted a 4x4, but which one, was the question. I really wanted a HMMWV, but my parents wouldn't buy me one. Since I played Hockey, I wanted a vehicle that I could put my gear into, so a Jeep would be fun, but not really big enough. I also didn't want a pick up truck, because the guys that played hockey that had pick ups were always worried someone would steal their gear... and there goes thousands of dollars. Also, if it rained, your gear would get soaked.

Even the guys that had pickups tried to get me to buy a pickup. But I'd have to buy a camper shell for sports and camping, and the stuff that I wanted to do.

I eventually settled on a 1988 Nissan Pathfinder. 2 door, SE spare tire in the rear. 4x4 for offroad and camping, and a hatch on the back for putting in my hockey gear and what not. Great little truck that did everything that I needed. When it finally died, and this time I had money and time to be a little more picky, I went and got a 1994 Nissan Pathfinder SE 4x4 with 4 doors, the external tire carrier, and in Green. It's my daily driver and I've been doing lots of little modifications here and there.

Wait... "I found a Pathfinder with the front end of the D21 hard bodies"

So that would be the 2 wheel drive version on the Nissan Pathfinder you have there?
