  1. tl;dr: I am having a heck of a time finding a new flywheel for the R50 VQ35DE MT that doesn't cost $600+ from a dealer. Are there any compatible flywheels off other VQ35 vehicles that would do the job? Or am I missing an obvious option? Long time reader, first time poster. A couple years ago I bought a 2002 R50 w/ ~210k miles on it. I recently got her out on the sand but, in the process of recovering someone who had gotten stuck, managed to get stuck myself and really smoked the clutch in the process of getting out. It is now slipping pretty badly. Likely was the final straw on what I think is the original clutch. A buddy has offered to help me/lend the use of his shop/equipment to replace the clutch but I have had a heck of a time finding a replacement flywheel. I could likely get the existing one resurfaced but I don't know what I'm going to find in there once it's apart and the turnaround time makes that unattractive as neither of us want to leave the vehicle disassembled in his shop for an extended period. Rock Auto had a PLATINUM DRIVELINE FW307 that they thought would fit, I ordered one but it seems like it is for the older 3.3L (6 bolts, Nissan shows 8 bolt for the VQ35). While there don't seem to be OEM alternatives directly for the VQ35 R50s, I do see options for the 350Z, Altima, Maxima... most of which seem to be mated with different transmissions. Would any of these do the trick or am I stuck either resurfacing or paying the insane dealer prices? Thanks!
