  1. It’s been said before, and ya, the results vary, most people either get a placebo effect or notice a small difference. Though it’s worth noting that @Jax99 wheeled an SFD equipped rig that had no missing link, and his subframe actually cracked and tore. Pictures and explanation of it in his build thread.
  2. it seriously does nothing for your CV’s. The control arms have the same amount of travel, but they can’t pull away from each other in the lateral direction. So your CV’s still have the same travel unless somehow your controls arms could move far enough laterally that your CV’s are overextending, which would mean catastrophic failure for your front suspension. And that’s what a missing link helps with anyway, though no control arm should move that far anyway. Trust me, I had mine up on jack stands, the droop was the same before and after.
  3. Ya I needed quick shipping so ended up buying a pair for $14. I think I’m going to order LR’s today so I can sell my old spacers sooner
  4. AC springs ordered! Thanks AC for the ridiculous shipping rates. I’ll be sure to never use you guys again. Also ordered generic camber bolts
  5. And beyond personal testimonies, if you start reading through this forum a lot, you’ll have a tough time finding people complaining about their lifts. And besides, if your like most people who want a lifted 4x4, the small nuances won’t matter in conparison to how much you enjoy being lifted.
  6. It makes your rig less capable. You run the risk of blowing up or binding a CV if you get a wheel in the air, because your CV axles droop (in my case) 2.5” below what they’re supposed to run at. No one who regularly off-roads their rig sticks with a spacer of more than 1” for very long, theyre just too unreliable. One guy blew 4 axles in one off-road trip because he was on front spacers. Not to mention, you gain no load bearing or handling performance that a spring lift provides, and your articulation doesn’t increase as much because your springs still aren’t very stiff. Until I got manual hubs, my passenger side CV clicked at full lock really badly, and that’s not uncommon. If you want to go off-road and carry lots of stuff and have normal handling, get springs. If you wanna drive to the mall in your shiny Nissan, get spacers. I only say this because of how many build threads I’ve read. Look at just about anyone who starts with spacers but is serious about taking their rig places. They eventually get coils springs, which hardly cost more than a spacer lift anyway. I’m really not trying to offend anyone, but that’s how I see it given the loads of research I’ve done on this forum and my own experience with a spacer lift. nobodies ever Blown up their CV’s on a coil spring lift, let alone experienced binding. Spacers have their place, but know what you’re getting into and why you want them. Again, I’m not hating on people who run spacers, I just see a lot of people start with spacers only to get coil springs later. Don’t make the same mistake as me. Save yourself time and money. Rant over
  7. Not gonna lie, I fully regret my spacer lift. It’s getting replaced this month. If you go with spacers make sure you’re fully aware with what that does to your rig
  8. Dude, I’m ordering AC springs tonight, I could probably get you my front spacers to you in 2 weeks or less. PM if you’re interested.
  9. I followed his video. It’s a few screws and a bunch of plastic clips that you want to carefully pop with a flathead
  10. Should be 2928 for OME HD. If I remember correctly I’ve seen them on both websites. I think @RainGoat has also recommended desertrat? Desert4x4? Can’t remember the exact name
  11. See if you can get them off amazon or 4WP when they run discounts. Then you’ll get free shipping too.
  12. appatently AC springs are rated at 380 lbs if anyone is wondering. Post 26
  13. Hopefully someone has used those tires, but if not, for $15 more per tire, you could get falken Wildpeak AT3W’s. Those have a definite following and good reputations. They’ve got the fancy schmancy snow symbol on them and do really well in snow and off-road. Should be able to get them with a 55k mike warranty too.
  14. No worries, it’s .03” longer too so obviously gotta go for that one.
  15. Thank you so much! That is awesome. That’s a ton of rear flex. And you recommend that part number over the one I found? I don’t understand what the difference in valving means in practical terms
  16. Thanks. I remember reading about how AC does their weird brand masking stuff! I would not go so far as to say that I'm planning on a bumper, but 6 months ago I wasn't really planning on taking this thing off road either. However, I do like the idea of keeping my options open. I know people used to (and probably still do) DD on AC coil springs. Ya it was stiff, but at least from the reading I've come across the ride quality wasn't a deal breaker. It seemed to have a good reputation, but I'm sure the OME rides a little nicer. Like I said, I'll sit it over. The last thing I want to do though is be sitting here a year from now wishing I had done something else. I guess in my mind, the worst thing that can happen if I go AC is that the ride quality is stiff, and I have to learn to live with it/appreciate it like everyone else before me (I'd be able to sell my old spacer lift). If I go with OME, worse thing that can happen is I end up wanting a front bumper, and then I have to do another front suspension swap.
  17. Sounds good, excited to see what you figure out
  18. Oh ya, now that you say that I remember reading that. But you’d put your bumpstops back on if you go with the 29.7” shock right?
  19. Well, thanks guys for the insight. That was some helpful information. Probably gonna go with the AC coils, but I’ll sit on it a few more days just to be sure.
  20. Pretty good flex, imagine what another 3.5” would do though. Plus, extending your bumpstops would probably help protect your fenders.
  21. Even rugged rocks says you need the trim packer to achieve 1.75” of lift
