  1. Why change the dip stick? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Nice looking rig. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Finally finished. I can't wait to back her out of the garage into the sun, but for now here are after pictures.
  4. So much rubbing... a decade of neglect builds up. I'm telling you guys.... 6 months ago this baby looked worse than things in a JY. My wife was all over me to get rid of it. Two clay bars later and two weeks of rubbing and I'm almost done. Putting a coat of wax on it tonight.
  5. I've clay bar'd everything except the roof over the last two weeks. There are lots of little nooks and crannies on a QX4, It takes so much time. I've also started sealing it with the Jescar Power Lock Blue. Waiting 30 mins to buff it off. Then I'm going to wait until tomorrow to apply some wax.

  7. I bought a used engine for my Sentra years ago with supposedly less than 50k. Lasted until the car was totaled.
  8. Nice looking job. I'd love to do that on my QX4.
  9. I did something similar about 100k ago. I ordered all my parts from Infiniti of Scottsdale, AZ. https://www.infinitipartsusa.com I found their prices better than my local dealer and they were good to work with.
  10. I was thinking about a Fumotomo valve as well, but then I wondered if it would be better to have the magnet to catch particles.

  13. What do y'all think about magnetic oil plugs? I hear some people say that filters take care of everything or if they were good then they would come as OE. On the other side are people saying that filters only catch particles over a certain size. As for manufactures installing them as OE, it's really not in a manufacturer's best interest to build an engine that last forever is it. https://www.drainplugmagnets.com/nissaninfiniti.php
  14. I think they have some tax incentive to trade before 50k miles
  15. I didn’t like the Q50 either, but love my Q70. I also looked at the various QX models and didn’t like them either. The engine power, body style and everything seems to fit the Q70 size perfectly. It looks like the stretched or shrank it down to fit all the other models. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I like the guys video and learned a lot, but I too have sprayed water in engines without problems. I do follow up bewitch an air hose and towels to dry it. I forgot to mention that before. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. That is a fantastic video. Well worth the 20 mins to watch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Nope I think I have one of those. It was something to do with turning the cam sprockets if memory serves me.
  19. hmmmm..... okay. But for a new engine it really isn't that bad. Should be like a new vehicle then, right?
  20. I don’t use a high pressure hater spray, just regular garden hose. Warm it up, spray degreaser, let sit a min, rinse. I try not to directly spray electronics too much. I like to use purple power but if it’s really bad I go with Gunk. The only problem I’ve ever had washing engines was some moisture in the distributor cap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Did you just tap in with something like this? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I was a car nut in high school but wrecked all my favorites and then cars became basic transportation for 20 years. But recently I purchased a Q70 and in got me back into doing more than just keeping them running. The NuFinish may last longer, but I really didn't like it. You mentioned your G... My routine for my Q is a little more than what I put down for my QX but I'm thinking of showing it in some local shows. So the steps for paint detailing it are are:1. Wash with blue Optimum No Rinse2. Clay with Meguiars G1016 Smooth Surface Clay Kit3. Wash with blue Optimum No Rinse4. Treat with McKee's 37 Hydro Blue5. Seal with Jescar Power Lock Blue6. Wax with Collinite 845 twice I just did this in the last couple of weeks and absolutely love the finish. Previously I was using some basic wal-mart wash for 1 and 2 and then just a Meguiars wax in place of steps 4-6. I was pleased with the results from that until I used the above. Purchasing all those products will set you back quite a bit, but you use such a small amount they should last a long time and the results are so good! I figure I'll get about six months out of it.
