  1. So here's the stuff I got: Also, I decide to hose off the chassis since it was dirty...which lead to me 'accidentally' washing the entire thing. The stuff that happens when the other option is to work on college applications.
  2. Well, to be fair I have a lot of local auto parts stores! And that was the only one any of them had. Lucky me! The most brake work I've done on this vehicle is checking the fluid level once, and that was just because. Other than that I've helped my dad change pads on other cars before, but that's it - never messed with fluid before. I guess this is another instance where I'll need fatherly guidance! I will probably do this at the same time that I do the coils, as long as I'm back there and it needs to be done anyways.
  3. I got a rear brake hose for a D22 Frontier from one of my local Auto Zones. It was about $11 and is 20 inches long, perfect! Now I have to decide if I want to mess with brakes myself, or have someone else do it. I don't want to spend the money, but I also don't want to end up with an undrivable vehicle....
  4. In response to pepperjack26, those ramps are a good idea! I don't have any, but I do know someone who does, so I may borrow them if I can't get my hands on more jack stands, as I only have access to 2 of those right now. Also, those spacers look much better painted-I may have to do the same to mine! Now in response to hawairish, your technique is probably the one I'll use if I can get my hands on some more jack stands, so I guess we'll see how that goes. Which generation Frontier are the brake lines you used from, if you know? It seems like since this is just a stock part for another vehicle that I could just pick it up from a local auto parts store.
  5. That moment when you type up a nice long post and then it doesn't post right and you have to start over. I tried to install my new Old Man Emu coils and ran into multiple problems. The first is that the spring compressor I rented wasn't big enough to work with these beefy new coils. Seeing how big these new coils are, I don't think I'm comfortable using a compressor on them anyways. On this thread (http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/topic/42249-changing-rear-springsshocks/) hawairish showed (although vaguely) how he was able to change coils without a compressor. I tried to do this, but ran into an issue with my brake lines. They are not long enough to allow that much movement. What are my options in regards to longer brake lines? I would like to go with a braided stainless steel option, like this (http://www.4x4parts.com/i-18915974-extended-brake-lines.html). However, I have a couple of problems with this product. The first is that it says it's for 1996-99.5 Pathfinders, while mine's a 2002. Despite this, is there any reason these wouldn't work? The other issue is that I don't exactly want to spend that much right now, I'd rather just do the rear line for now. Is this a generic part that a local shop could get for me, or do I need to get R50-specific ones? Also, if anyone (or hawairish) could give more detail as to how to put new coils in without a compressor, that would be really great. And FYI, I'm planning on only putting the OME coils in with 1 spacer, as supposedly the OME coils I purchased will give 1.75 inches of lift, which will be plenty of rake for me with another inch of spacer. Any help would be appreciated!
  6. In regards to the spring compressor, it depends. When I took my back suspension apart to install my spacer lift, I was able to (barely) remove the old springs without a compressor. I cannot say if new springs would fit, as they would more than likely be longer than the old, saggy ones. With 2" spacers and the old spring going back in, I needed a compressor, no way around it. I would say having the compressor on hand would be useful, even if it's only needed to compress a half inch.
  7. From what I could find on the internet, the 2610's are the heavy duty option, which is exactly what I was looking for. I would have gotten the 2922's if I had not found these. And yes, I am very lucky I had help! I couldn't imagine doing that alone, especially with how much of a learning experience it was. I'm not too worried about the stance, as I eventually plan to add OME springs in the front as well to bring it back to a more level setup. Thanks for the kind words!
  8. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I'm wondering if there's one thing wrong that's throwing both systems off, as the ICC can control the brakes too?
  9. So I have a couple problems with my 2002 Infiniti QX4. I've been ignoring them since they don't come up too often and I actually wasn't sure that one is an issue, but now I am. I guess I'll start with the one that I'm more certain is broken, the Intelligent Cruise Control. This seems like a very complicated system, so I'm not sure where to start. So far all I've done is check the fuse (which is fine, by the way). When I press the button on the steering wheel to turn the cruise control system on, two cruise control lights come up on the dash - the normal one and an orange one - and it makes a loud beep. (I can make a video of this if it would be helpful at all) The only control that works is turning it back off; speed can NOT be set. I think this might be one that I have to bring it in to be looked at, but I was hoping someone on here might have some ideas first. The other problem is with the ABS. Since I got the vehicle about 8 months ago, I've only had to hit the brakes hard twice, and both times the tires locked up and the truck skidded (leading the people behind me to follow at a farther distance, lol). This makes me think the ABS is not working, but I'm not sure if I just wasn't pushing the pedal quite far enough to engage it or what. Again, if anyone on here has a suggestion it would be great, otherwise I intend to bring it in to be looked at. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
  10. That's a good point, I may do that since I load it up pretty often. Thanks!
  11. I just drove down to Venom Motorsports, a local offroad shop, and ordered OME springs part #2610 for the rear of my QX4. They should be here in about a week, I can't wait! I still can't decide if I want to have ~1 inch of rake or only use one rear spacer and have it stay level.
  12. Well, it's been about a month and a half since I last updated this thread. Unfortunately, not a whole lot has happened with the QX4 in terms of mods. However, it has been doing its usual daily-diver stuff perfectly fine. It's pulled some trailers, gone camping a few times, and gone offroading once or twice. The next mod I have planned is to get OME coils for the rear to increase it's ability to take weight, as the back end sags quite a bit when weight is applied. And just to keep y'all happy, here's a picture from the offroading I did this yesterday (wrote this yesterday, lol) morning. I went with my Uncle (Jeep JKU) and one of my friends (Toyota 4Runner).
  13. Yeit is a pretty good name! Works perfect with the paint color. Will it be getting any cool stickers to match the name?
  14. Hm, never heard of it before. I guess I'll look it up! I look forward to seeing your Pathfinder progress.
  15. That's a nice looking Pathfinder! What brand is the lift?
  16. So if I were to get the AC ones, I would no longer need my spacers to get 2" of lift and the sagging would be greatly reduced?
  17. Just to make sure I'm clear on everything, these are the AC coils you guys are talking about, right? http://www.4x4parts.com/i-18981167-pathfinder-rear-lift-coils.html
  18. Yeah, he was directly over the axle. If OME is 200#, then that should be a lot better than what I have now.
  19. It dropped an inch with my dad (200#)in the trunk.
  20. It sits really nice when unloaded, it even had a half inch of rake before I leveled it with my lift. I'll find some weights/people and let you know.
  21. I would say modify the wheels. I've heard of too many people having bad experiences with wheel spacers to recommend them.
  22. Thanks for the help guys, now I know what I need to order!
  23. @Rebelord So your truck has OME coils in the rear? If that's the case, then I think that's what I'll get.
