  1. Thanks very much. That's exactly what I needed. Steve
  2. Would someone know the axle spline count on a 2004 All-Mode non-lsd axle? There's seems to be a little confusion as to whether it's 31 or 33. This is to install an ARB locker and what the correct ARB part is. Thanks
  3. I have a Nissan OEM pet divider I used two times to transport a big dog. I don't need it any more if you're interested. Steve
  4. When my windshield was replaced I was told that the strip in the windshield is also for the lock/alarm remote. Made sense to me... Steve
  5. I've got the 4.3 gears, and I'm guessing the spline count remained the same in the later years. I "think" the LSD is a drop-in at this point, but I'm going to call around first to make sure before I take the third member out. The tires are Yoko Geolander ATS in 265/65/17 and have been good in all conditions and are relatively quiet. They are only "OK" in the snow, though, but I'm not convinced it's more of the All-Mode than the tires, and/or the lack of an LSD, as the tires have an excellent reputation in the snow. I had two other r50's, one with 5spd, one with an auto, both with the std transfer case and LSD. Both those Pathy's were excellent in the snow and I see a lot of it living at 7,400' in Colorado. I may need to try driving more with the VDC off, since I think it's "magic" may be part of the issue. It's not reassuring to turn and brake in the snow, and hear the transfer case and ABS cycling, and end up in a controlled slide. This may be good for inexperienced drivers so they don't spin out, but it's a little too much interference for me. Anyone else noticed this in All-Mode? Steve
  6. I'm pretty sure the LSD was an option on the American models with All-Mode, and it's not listed on the sticker, nor does it appear to have one when you turn the rear tires. The tires are Yokohama ATS and they are good all around tires. I guess my question was whether this rear axle (2004, auto, LE, All-Mode) is the same axle as other Pathy's with the LSD, so that it would only be a drop-in of a factory LSD. I think by the later models they were using only one axle ratio, but I may be mistaken. Steve
  7. I've got a 2004 with All-Mode 4wd that is less than impressive in the snow (some of this may be due to the VDC). I was wondering if I could drop a Nissan LSD in the rear axle (not much help, I know) or is it not a compatible axle? I considered putting an ARB in, but thats a little overkill, and a locker in the snow is not always good. Also, I seem to remember that an Xterra LSD is a little "tighter" and may also fit in some Pathys? Thanks, Steve
  8. Did you also wash the engine in the Pathfinder?
  9. I went through the firewall on my 2004 LE at the plate for the clutch master cylinder (which isn't installed). I just removed one of the two bolts and ran the wire thru there and added a rubber grommet. Works great.
  10. I've got the OME lift all around and it's great. Two words sum up my experience with Rocky Road Outfitters, "They Suck!". I don't know about the owner, but he can't manage a business well.
  11. I recently installed the OME suspension on my 2004 LE and am pretty happy with it. It's only about a 3/4" lift but the spring, shocks and struts are heavy duty and the ride is great. I would stay away from Rocky Road Outfitters as they were very slow in shipping the order (almost 3 weeks) and then sent me a defective shock that looked like it had been returned before. It only got worse from there as they refused to send me another one and said I had to return it through ARB for a new one under warranty (although I never installed it, they said it was "OME policy", which ARB, the distributor, said wasn't true). Anyway, Rocky Road doesn't seem to be reputable or well run as a busines, but you should be able to find another dealer for OME equipment at the www.arbusa.com website.
  12. My bad.... I had looked around on the AC site and thought the shocks were only available as part of a suspension kit. I see now they can be ordered seperately. Thanks. Steve
  13. As a follow-up; that part number isn't easy to find. The Bilstein rep. said it's a "proprietary" stock number for a Bilstein vendor and was listed as an Xterra application. However, I did find the part here: http://www.ajusa.com/cgi-bin/stores/lookup...umber=BE5-6216+ Don't know anything about availability or this vendor. Steve
  14. Excellent, thanks! That part # translates as a Xterra shock, although I haven't researched which years yet. Here's the Bilstein link: http://www.bilstein.com/mistore/productdis...mpany_id=100484 Steve
  15. I searched the Warn Hubs topics but never found if there was a resolution to the question of whether Warn Hubs will work with the AutoMode version used in the later model Pathfinders and the QX4 (mine's a 2004 LE). Warn said if it fit it would be listed for that model year (it isn't) but he didn't know why, and AC said it "may not" fit due to wheel clearance and "may not" fit due to spline count, but they didn't know for sure either. Anyone know? Steve
  16. Bump. Hope someone else will see it...
  17. Looks like a great site. My compliments to the moderators! I currently have a 2004 LE "Platinum" that I've confiscated from my wife and am going to "tweak" a little bit. Also own a 1976 International Scout II that I restored. Previous 4x4's include 2000 Xterra, 2002 Pathy, 1991 Pathy, 1979 CJ7 and 1973 CJ5. Steve
  18. Would anyone know the Bilstein part number of the shocks used with a 2" lift for a 2004 Pathfinder, or what similar vehicle they are used from? Bilstein doesn't list an application for those on a stock Pathfinder. Thanks. Steve My other car is an International Scout.
