  1. Just curious if any one knows if the rear view mirror off of a 2001 will plug into a 1998 (the one on the windshield)? The 2001 looks like it bolts the to the roof instead of gluing to the windshield, which means i won't brake my windshield again with my stereo. Mine has the compass and temp display. Thanks
  2. I'm in the process of repairing the body on mine. Now its not as bad as we thought but I still had to replace both front fenders ( I paid 135 each due to the fact i get shop price) but the worst part is the tailgate. here's the pic's just have to look past what we did to the front fender (after we removed it, the effects of boredom can be dangerous, it was a .22 and a 12 gauge) you can still see that not much was left under the flare. will add more when done
  3. I agree it does idle more and lots of slipping and sliding, and playing. But I've seen the difference on 1 highway trip got 375km on the first tank, temp outside was 30-F to 50-F second tank i got 625km, temp was 50 - 75 F. at 75 MPH ( was going south) I have 180 stat, and i set my fan to come on at 205 and off at 190 i used a snap-on scanner to check it
  4. Ok so it's not just me then. Actually after all the upgrades I have not noticed much change if any in the mileage.
  5. It's probably been asked before. My 98's gas mileage cuts in half once it starts to get cold. anything below 40F, it goes from 650KM to a tank to 250-300KM I have tried almost everything I can think of to make it better on gas. any ideas. things I have done and tried temp sensor thermostat manual hubs electric fan k&n air filter E3 spark pugs Thanks
  6. Thats what i needed to know thanks Wanted to make sure before i spent the money. but another stupid question.. i know what the backspacing means but what is the offset?
  7. I realize this has probably been asked lots but i just can't seem to find it. I'm looking at buying a set of the Mickey Thompson Classic Lock Wheels 15 X 8, The rim has a 3 5/16" backspace and -30 mm offset but need to know if the tires I currently have are going to try and make their own room or not. Or if i have to modify anything (other than lifting it, i'm working o that next) I have Dick Cepeck Crushers 31 X 10.5 R15's on stock suspension and have yet to make them rub.
  8. They grip really well in the snow, a little noisy on the highway. But working good so far. I set the air at 30 psi, tag in the glove box said 28. Sorry it took me so long i was on holidays.
  9. I just installed a set of DickCepeck Crusher's 31 X 10.5. So far they haven't rubbed but I haven't tired anything extreme yet. Stock suspension, but i do want to lift it. I tried to upload a couple pics but it would not let me so I'll try this. Ya i know it needs a wash
  10. Flushing a transmission can help or hurt it. I work in a transmission shop if it has has regular fluid changes or not to many miles on transmission) it usually won't hurt it. but if you have lots of miles and the fluid is getting dark flushing tends to wash out most of the gunk and deposit it in places you don't want (ie. the valve body.) , then your into a overhaul. At my shop we won't service or flush a transmission if it hasn't be serviced regularly or unless it's a newer car.
  11. Yes we Canadians like to do things differently don't we. Thanks for the info
  12. I just bought my pathfinder it's a 98 Chilkoot Trail, but i'm wondering it is considered a XE LE or SE. I can't find anything on the pathfinder about it and it seems to make a big difference on insurance.
  13. Thanks for the welcome. This is my first Nissan, I paid $1800 for it, I've been a mechanic for 8 years and never seen many problems with them other than the frame rotting out This board has helped a lot so far in some of the things you can do to them. I work in a transmission shop, this is why I bought it with the trans problem
  14. Hello, I just acquired my 98 Pathfinder Chilkoot. Has the carbon fiber dash and almost no rust, especially underneath. Still stock so far but that probably won't last long. Bought it with the no reverse problem, has 200k Km on it.
