  1. I know, just get a little ruffled about not being able to get good diesels here. Just messin with ya.
  2. Really, people that doubt your ability to stuff the better fueled engine into your rig are the same ones that keep diesel out of this great country. the fuel tank is easy. keep the tank and just fab up a straight line for the return and supply. fuel pump is mechanical on the engine. Really i have a few questions that hopefully u done worked out, is the trans that bolts to the td27 one that we have here or does it have its own? since your already in CA, whats the sticker on a td27 out there ive seen them on ebay for 3 to 4k? also how hard is it to get parts for them here in the states?
  3. Those rubbers are the bump stops i believe. If i was you and carrying full load of passengers and luggage I would replace those and upgrade the springs to handle the weight and the ride would be better with a full load. Plus, my opinion is if your going to replace the front shocks go ahead and replace the rear because they have been going through the same stuff as the front.
  4. what do you need as far as the speedo internals? (im @37214 on the other side of this rock i think) Was wondering if any one knew why the covers are different and if the covers have to be swapped. the only difference I see on the outside is the 4wd switch is in a different location on the newer transfer.
  5. Run into some problems during my 5 speed conversion. There not really problems just wondering about the differance of the 89 transfer and the 95 transfer. When seperating the trans from the transfer found the seal plate for the input shaft was different from the automatic to the manual. Took some pics of the difference. Here is the plate on the manual, here is the plate on the auto, Was wondering what that cup is for at the bottom of the seal and if any body knew if its actually needed? Also took the electronic speed sensor out of the transfer and sized it up with the mechanical one. Found no obvious reason why they wont interchange because of the spline is the same, same diamater. The only real difference i can see between the two gears is the electronic one is just a hair shorter. Also the 4wd switch and the neutral switch on the transfer are the same but the 4wd switch off the newer transfer is in a different location but both switches work the same. I dont want to pull the transfers apart to just change the plate so unless any body has a good reason why switching the speed sensor over to the old transfer and switching the other switches over won't work I'm going to try it out. Thanks for any help anyone can come up with.
  6. doing a 5 speed swap on my 95 pathy with a tranny from a 89 hb, and was wondering about wiring issues. searching around and found a couple of people on here talking about doing it and how much of a pain the wiring is. anybody have any pointers about how to go about doing the wiring would be very helpful. thanx
  7. i have a 95 pathy that has a automatic that doesn't pull anymore. i also have a 89 hardbody that is ate up with cancer with a 5 speed. i have already swapped transmissions from the 89 to the 95 the only problem is with the electronics. i was wondering with the automatic being computer controlled, how is the pathy going to be affected by the 5 speed. can i just take the computer out or will that mess with the engine computer. i am one of those people that like to have everything right and as clean as if it rolled off the production floor. oh yeah the 5 speed also has some switches on it, i believe they are the reverse switch and cant recall if there is anymore at this time. if any one has done this your help is very much appreciated. thanx
  8. seems stupid not to offer the kit for `93 and later just because of the tie rods. must be some guy sitting behind a desk making that decision. thanx for the help. also awesome pathy 88pathoffroad. love the LTBs!!!
  9. i have a `95 pathy and was wondering why the trailmaster 4" lift will not fit mine. what parts are different. could i make it fit and how much actually effort would that take. thanks
  10. i have a 95 pathy i just bought with a bad auto trans. i also have a 89 hardbody that is gracious enough to give me its 5 spd. now i know that the auto has the electronic rev/speed sensor. my question is, can the older 5 spd be retrofitted with the new electronics? thanks for the help.
