I don't know if you could consider this a "breakdown" but it was my 3rd off-roading trip and i was up in NH offroading which is about 1hr 30 mins from my home. My wife and my 18 mo old daughter was with me. I saw a mud pit that i thought i could get through... Wrong i hit the pit and got stuck in the middle.. Mind you i dont have a lift and only general grabber tires. Looked around for another person and found a guy driving a jeep cherokee, asked if he could pull me out and he had no problem doing that only thing was he did not have recovery straps, neither did i... lol So we must of waited an hour for another person to roam by and that guy didn't have recovery gear either, so i came up with the idea of asking if there was a walmart near by and there was, so they gave me a lift to a local walmart where i bought recovery straps , they drove me back to the trail and pulled me out. All in all i was stranded 3 hours in that mud pit, i was so fortunate that the guys that helped me out stayed with me until i got my truck out.

It seems like it is coming from the valve cover passenger side from furthur inspection yesterday. How would i go about replacing it? it seems like i just unhook a couple of electrical connections some screws and the cover would pop off. I never done one of these before so i'm not going to go by me assuming how it comes off. Any advice would be appreciated . thank you

I never did any of those jobs lol so i have no experience with removing them

He didn't really look at it, he just assumed it was from what i said.. And oh god... i really don't have 800 dollars to spare, alkorahil since u work at the dealer how much do they usually charge for this type of job?

Hello everyone, it seems i have discovered a oil leak under my pathfinder a couple days ago. It seemss pretty moderate after i work a 10 hour day the puddle from the droplets seem pretty wet. I took it over to my mechanic today because i did not ever replace a oil pan before , he quoted me 800 dollars for the fix 200 for the piece and 600 for 6 hours of labor.. that seemed fishy to me so i questioned it , he then continued to tell me that he has to jack the engine up a bit to remove the pan is this true?, has anyone else ever replaced there oil pan? How tough of a job is it? Most importantly how much on average should it cost to get replaced. Will post some pics up after work. Thanks for the help in advanced.

Yeah i appreciate that i am going to call corporate monday. inspected my patches today. what do you know? The fiberglass they put on is already coming apart, bits and bits of the little strands are coming apart.

All inside the engine bay... I talked to nissan today and was very disappointed as to what they told me. Quote on quote " Sorry sir but if it's in the engine bay we don't really do anything for that the recall has us putting plates on the wheel well and doing the treatment on the wheel well. " So i say to them , "Alright then so what am i suppose to do about the rust and when the strut tower detaches from the engine bay?" "Sir that will not happen the plate that we installed during the recall is to support that and connect the 2 pieces together . That will not detach." That's complete utter bullsh!t. I am so upset at what they are telling me its all bullsh!t lies. I fought and fought the guy i was talking to and he agreed to let me bring it in Monday now ... for furthur inspection . Ontop of all of this it was the service manager i was . How should i go into nissan monday? Should i print out documents of the recall? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Yeah i believe you kdj..., my repair patches are already starting to rust, honestly the way they fixed THEIR problem is quite pathetic.., ill tell you this im never buying a nissan.again after i experienced how they dealt with me. Next car im buying is a toyota or jeep. I like companys that treat theor customers with respect and will actually fix there mistakes.. i have an appointment at nissan tomorrow to.get it looked at.

Hello, as many of you know i recently took my pathfinder in a month or so ago to nissan for the strut recall, upon furthur inspection yesterday of seeing if any of the rust came back i noticed a new rust spot (Yay!) Well its across from the steering shaft and near where the crease of the strut tower connects to the engine bay. I re-readed the nissan recall procedure and it doesnt seem like thats an area that is covered under the recall area. I did notice the metal piece they put in the wheel well the hole is right in front of the metal piece 2 holes to be exact. That lead me to think that they new about the 2 holes and didnt do anything about it when i took it in for the recall, i am going to try to take a picture of it but its going to be hard with space issues. I came here seeking answers. Should i bring my truck back to nissan (would they even do the recall again?), or should i just tackle the rust spot myself(no experience with filling rust holes whatsoever.) This is crucial because this is my DD and i have my 17 month daughter with me almost all the time and i dont want to endanger her. Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Old and crummy radiator You could definitly tell i needed a new radiator, had a leak from it aswell. I love the way new parts look all replaced and installed. Still have my kyb shocks , those i plan on installing next week

Haven't been on in a while been busy with work and my family, in due time replaced my o2 sensor and yesterday i just replaced my radiator and fan shroud. wasn't to bad of a job at all. Looks much much better now. Reason i replaced my shroud was because i accidently broke it climbing on the truck to remove one of the clips holding the o2 sensor my arms were to short and my knee slipped and broke the shroud. lol

Cleaned all the mud off her from a trip saturday, Also hit the 120k mile mark today!

Mostly the 9 o clock and 3 o clock positions.

I jacked it up today and felt little play at both positions.i guess they probably are bad, probably be best to replace them even if they are not bad . Dont know whens the last time the prev owner replaced them

If you guys think it's a wheel bearing does someone mind linking me up to the whole complete set for both wheels for either the rear or front? Thank you

I've been hearing a whirring noise from my pathfinder for a week now and i wanted to bring it up to you guys to get a possible cause/fix. I keep hearing a whirring after i go past 30mph . Before 30mph i can't really hear anything. It's always when i go past 30mph . I was just currently idling at 60mph and the noise was very obvious to me. I don't know it's the AT tires i have mounted but when i first purchased them and used them i didn't really hear the noise . Here's a small video on the noise. I know the quality is bad but it's the best i could get. View My Video Another concern i have is a possible squeaky brake line? I just encountered the problem today. I found out that when i press the pedal all the way down and release then i hear the squeaky noise. It's most of the time when i do it i hear it. Sometimes when i do it i don't hear it at all. So i don't know what could be the probable cause, That and i have no mechanic experience with this stuff too. Heres another small video of the brake line squeak.
