  1. Hey, I'm looking to buy a set of wind and rain deflectors for my 2001 Pathy, due to the sauna experience I get with my black vehicle in the summers. Just wondering if there are any recommendations from those with experience, there are a bunch of brands and a broad price range out there. Thanks
  2. Howdy all, My Wipers Kicked out on my 1 km before my exit off the 401 (thankfully not when I got on the highway an hour earlier) and it was night in a crazy rain storm. I think I hear the motor going just maybe the arms or whatever has broke internally. Any tips on easy access to repair this..?
  3. hello, its been a while but curious on some things and i know this is the place to ask........ i have an 01 pathy and recently i got stuck in some deep snow, ...... what should my LSD be doing ? are my pumpkin internal clutches f'd and so on? i had the tire on one side of the car spinning and the other not........ for a while I thought this was normal and I hear different things on a LSD, anyways thanks for the tips my fellow R50ers !!!
  4. simple, i often go with only me and my friends in my vehicle, i want to never have to worry about getting stuck, i've been pulled out with my buddy's xterra and winch the next day after getting stuck and leaving it, and i could barely sleep that whole night thinking about my pathy in the middle of nowhere also i know you don't have snow in california, we do............ lol ps i love your pathy..... it inspired me to not sell mine about a year ago
  5. I'm considering ordering a winch from Kennesaw Mountain Accessories sometime this spring/summer. - http://www.kenmtnac.com/WinPat9904.html I'm going to get just a plain simple version from them. Winch Mount, Fairlead, Dock Bumpers, and Left and Right D Shackles (about $600) I'm curious if a winch bumper is a bad decision for my daily driver? I'm wondering how much the weight will affect everything overall (hwy and off road driving, won't the truck be really front heavy?) I have the stock brush guard now, does anybody know what that weighs compared to a winch bumper? Will my fuel economy go down significantly? Also I don't know anything about winches, which should I get for this situation? And in terms of winch, how long do they last, I've been warned about winch line roting and other weather damage from being exposed to the elements up front. And does anyone think I'll have any issues matching the bumper to my AC skid plates? Thanks
  6. Those of you who read my other posts might remember my ongoing crazy engine problems that i posted called "Strange VQ35DE" . Well I am happy to say it is finally over. After much money, time, testing, and trials I now have mint running engine. The issue was that I had crazy intermittent power problems. The engine was up to par, no codes, etc and my mechanics couldn't figure out why. The dealership replaced many sensors (02's, crank and the MAF) Still no luck, they said it would have to be my ECM and that costs $1000 plus install. Thanks to help on this site I followed some reply leads and found a used ECM for $250 in Ottawa. The dealership put it in for $200. Guess what, no fix. Finally they scanned the truck in "bad mode" and in "good mode" and sent the readings to the technicians at head office. They suggested check the manifold valves. They checked them and the lower manifolds butterfly valves would cease and randomly work with my engine warm up procedures. So finally we replaced the whole lower manifold and I also got them to loktite the upper manifold screws thanks to the help from the pinned post on here. Oh and they were aware of that happening before. ( It should be a recall or something....#&!@ ) Anyways, so in short, If your engine is crazy like mine, check the lower manifold, so you don't have to spend $2700 being a guinea pig for Nissan trying repairs, cause a few days after my repair the shop had one come in with the same problem, and a quick $900 total (parts, labour, and discount for the manifold) it was fixed. on an unrelated topic, check my cheesy snow drifting video I finished a few weeks ago if you like.
  7. if you want an easy solution, just buy a "tape deck to 3.5mm jack" cable, i've had one from my old discman forever in use with my current ipod, they only cost 5-10 bucks, (if that, if you really shop)
  8. My ECM needs replacing, the stealership wants $940 plus installation, plus tax, approx $1300 canadian. I think i may have to turn to that road pretty soon, cause I can't take it much longer. I have hunted for any ECM repair place that can do it, and also looked for used ones as well, so far no luck. If anyone knows where I can get it repaired or where there is a used one for sale that would be greatly appreciated. Its a 2001 5 speed (i've heard the automatic ECM might work?) its production date was 06/2000 because I believe there is 3 different ECM's for the 3.5 which also makes the hunt more difficult, anyways, thanks !!!
  9. bought the clinometer, love it, also bought the scanguage2 for my continuing ecm battle, also love it, but whats an easy power supply for the light for the clinometer, I'm assuming just find a 12v for it, mine didn't come with any instructions, wheres any easy spot to hop in on some power?
  10. i purchased a new remote for mom's 99 and the dealership couldn't program it, i watched three of them try the procedure stated above and it wouldn't work, they said that the "smart entrance control unit" needs replacing and it goes for $425.19 canadian, that is a nice expensive part, i told my mom just not to leave any valuables in it, let it get stolen, lol, its in rough shape,
  11. hi, i want an inclinometer, i've seen the pic of xplorx4's, where can i get one? are they vehicle specific? are they easy to install? thanks!!!!
  12. I know the 3.5's are gas pigs, but I'm just a little curious on what others are getting out of a tank on their 3.5's cause mine seems real bad. I usually get 400 kilometers (250 miles) per tank. Thats without 4 wheel engaged. Around town mostly, minimally on the highway.
  13. On my 2001 3.5, I can't find the power cord for the engine block heater. Did they all not come with one? If I do have one, can anyone tell me where the cord might be hiding? Thanks
  14. hey, sorry to hop in on this discussion, I have the AC 2" lift, do I want these for my truck? or is this just for after the prado lift?
