  1. When you beat , curse , and threaten the dashboard "I'M TAKING YOU TO THE F&^$ING JUNKYARD!!!!YOU HEAR ME??!!!!!""
  2. Speaker wires I'm going to put a disconnect on it. I have thousands of them in my garage from my Electrical days. To be honest I don't think they work anymore. Driver side went dead last year sometime. I did watch a Jeeper do the hinges for his Cherokee this weekend so I have an awesome Idea. I will do it this weekend and post a video/pics by Sunday if I can.
  3. I used it a couple of times. Ran like crap before and ran like crap after. I put it in the tank/TBody/oil. I also use Lucas Oil products when I fill up, that comes from habit when I was a truck driver way back when. The only thing that I can swear I notice a difference is STP fuel treatment. When I had water in my tank I used it. Drove that sputtering hunk of crap to Wal-Mart and got a bottle. A 2 pack was only a couple bucks I think. Threw one in and half a tank and it purred on the open road. Seafoam has a cool smoke show. I used it a month ago. I just had my throttle body dissected 2 days ago putting in a new injector, and all the ports were filthy. I didn't see that it cleaned anything. I'm not saying it doesn't clean anything, I personally didn't notice.
  4. I did, several times over the past 3 months. At lunch today I left and punched the gas, dang thing climbed to 5k rpm till the belts were screaming. Now it drives fine. I forgot that the sending unit access was on top of the tank, I have easy access to it. I'm going to pull it tonight or tomorrow and take a look into the tank. I'm having a nagging feeling there is something in getting sucked in during my u-turns and hill climbs. That's when limp mode kicks in.
  5. Yea, I have 2 injectors. To test to see which was the faulty one I cut the wires one by one. The one on the right when taken out of the circuit, the engine started and ran the same. So I replaced that one. I am curious if I have trash in my tank or something clogging the lines. It is weird it goes in limp mode periodically, usually only during climbing a slight bridge on my way to work. Once I get on the highway I can usually get it up to 60 mph and it is fine, but if I do a u-turn or climb a hill it will start back firing and sputtering. On the test run this morning on the new injector it did hit 4k rpm for about 5 sec. then limp mode kicked back in. Mysteriously just as I was climbing the bridge. I should shoot a video of it today maybe. Anyway, I have had enough of it. I haven't been able to wheel in months because of this stupid problem. I'm going to put it on Craigslist monday. Sad to see it go but I've lost a lot of good wheeling time this year.
  6. I was so happy this morning, my Pathy had been sitting in the drive for 3 weeks waiting on me to replace that injector. The night I tested it around the block it was perfect. This morning I put the tags back on it and drove to work. In second gear I let it rev on up. Before it was in limp mode, I couldn't go over about 2300 rpm. So this morning it was up to 4k rpm, I'm like "Hell Yea"!!!! Then it sputtered and backfired, went back down to 2300 rpm. Seriously, I wanted to drive it right into a tree. I am getting a little sick of this (where's waldo) crap. The code it keeps throwing out is injector circuit. Should I just strip and replace the injector wires from the injectors to the ECM? It's getting close to getting scrapped. I haven't been able to wheel for about 6 months because of this problem. In my excitement I was going after work to pick up the winch and finally take it out in the woods again. Once again it let me down.
  7. Running short on time after work I just reseated all of the wires and reattached all the vacuum lines. It's running great now. This isn't the first time the weird wire thing happened. Every time I'm in there bumping around fixing something it seems to happen. It's time for some new wires I think. And yes there is an exhaust leak. Part of the pipe sits inside another pipe, loosely. Not welded or anything. I have no idea what someone was doing there. If I opt to get my welder tomorrow or the next day I will climb under there and redo it proper.
  8. It is weird, when I fix one thing then start the engine, there is always another problem, lol.
  9. New o rings. I will test the spark plug wires tonight though. Good idea.
  10. Shot a video this morning, sounds like it is skipping. I was up until 3am installing new injector. What does this sound like to you? A side note. My vaccuum lines were not reattached to the air cleaner yet. Would that be the cause? I was going to leave them off while I fabricated a seperate breather box for them.
  11. I had this happen to me a month or so ago. Lucky for me I am usually broke and only get about 20 bucks of fuel at a time. Yes it will burn out. Water sinks to the bottom. Keep it full and it will flush out eventually. If it is water of course. But twice I had water in the tank, both times from seven eleven gas stations.
  12. Yup, I used to hit the woods almost daily but about 3 months ago I hit a water trap some azzjack with 44's set up in a water hole. Got dunked pretty good, fried the ECM. I havent wheeled since, been busy chasing down everything that got shorted out. But I am doing a somewhat major overhaul to it so I am more prepared. Next week hopefull, I will have the winch on, ECM bagged and moved to the glove box, carpet out and inside bed lined with drain plugs. For starters. And all the Jeeps around here go doorless so I am guessing there is no FLA law against it. I will look into those mirrors though. Perhaps it is time to look for fender mounting options. Yay, another custom project!!!!
  13. Ah. Makes sense. I will be cruising the isles of Home Depot in the morning looking for something to make the Hummer style mushroom cap with. I think I'm going to run the line through the cowl and up do some sort of mushroom top. Looks like a good idea.
  14. Late on responding here, but on things that are going to get beat on use enamel paint. Once cured it is harder than lacquer. When I recently painted my truck I used Black enamel. It's a pain because even though it dries by the next day it still isn't fully cured. Took mine about a month before I could finally take a buffer to it. I took it in the woods and plowed through the trees for an hour...not a scratch.
  15. I will post some pics when I do. Good heads up on the mirror thing though. Never thought of that.I'll do it after I mount the winch and Hi-Lift. I am flipping the idea in my head to Bed Line the inside of the cab. I have to dig the carpet out to mount the ECM in the glove box. I was thinking of just ripping out the carpet, adding some drain plugs, and bed lining it. That's for another thread though.
  16. I thought about building one like this And my GOD!!! Can someone please tell me why snorkels are so overpriced! These River Raiders are from the range of 400-600 bucks. It's a plastic tube for christ's sake.
  17. Over thinking isn't bad sometimes. I know some people even build an air box as a go to between the carb/TB and the snorkel.
  18. Fine, I will be the first. I ain't scurrrddd
  19. Harbor Freight sell a cradle for $50. It is rated @ 9k http://www.harborfreight.com/hitch-receiver-mount-for-winches-69106.html I think it is time to invest in that welder now. As for stock, most of that will be free. A lot of construction going on around the clock in Tampa. Piles and piles of scrap to be had. I would just need to buy the piece the receiver would slide into. I need to rebuild my rear bumper also. Hmm, seems I answered my own question.
  20. Next up on my to do list next week is possibly a winch. Now, my question is I seen a mounting plate at HFreight, but it looks like a simple....plate. I'm wondering exactly what mounting it to that would do? I have scoured the net today about mounting winches on bumpers but it didn't help much. I don't have a few hundred bucks to dump on a winch bumper. Heck, it took me a few months just to coffee can enough for the winch. I considered using a cradle and installing a front receiver and using the winch front or back. I like that idea because usually I stick the nose in a bad idea first and need to come out in reverse. Now, googling for a front receiver mount for an 88 Pathfinder............Need lots of advice on this one. Key thing here is I can dig up an extra 50 or so to get a mounting plate, but my family budget won't allow more than that.
  21. Just wondering if anyone has pics of a Pathy with the doors off. Wondering if it looks silly or good. Google didn't help with my search.
