So about 2 years ago i picked up a 97 pathfinder an joined this incredible community here at npora you guys helped me with alot an after i was told it was going to cost more than what my pathy was worth to fix its evap issue i took it off the road an used it as a mud toy. Now after 2 failed chevys im looking at getting back into a nissan suv. I found a 02 xterra with 109xxx mile for $1850US the body is pretty much rust free but has a dent of the passenger fender. That dosent bug me what dose is the onwer told me the steering pump whines when its cold out an it has a tick by the exhaust. From what iv resaerched its prolly a cracked header. Is there anything else i should watch for when i go to look at it an test drive it. It has the 3.3v6 an auto trans.

     

    Will the manifolds from the pathys 3.3 fit the xterra?

     

    For a lil under 2 grand at 109xxx miles i dont see ot not being a good deal but i dont want to get stuck with another toy in a year.

  2. So without major engine work a cam is about the only thing i can do motor wise to increase hp so on to the trans im guessing a torque converter but i dont under stand quiet what they do to choose one

  3. [Nissan Motorsports we added a set of their #2 off road cams to Project Pathfinder. The cams have 264 degrees of duration and .430]

  4. There is a whole write up on his WD21. He bought it built (no shame in that, got a hell of a deal!), but some off road or racing magazine or site built it up as a tow vehicle IIRC. There is a thread on it here, I just can't recall what to look it up as. It is a long read, but they describe everything they did perfectly.

    I would have bought it if I had the cash at the time, but we all know how that goes... :D

  5. Well on my gmc i had befor this i had aftermarket lenses with the blacked out chrome (made like that) they still reflected my turn signals and didnt have any issues i would just order aftermarket ones but they all have funky stuff inside the housings

  6. VG 33, cams, pistons, intake, exhaust, a bit of boring.

     

    Mine's pretty torquey. Used to be that if the snow got up to my bumper I was stuck. Now I just lay on the pedal and tear through it.

     

    Of course my mpg goes down real quick.

    Ok so what cams did u run and whats ur exhaust setup and did u have to get it tunned afterwards

So on my new truck (05 chevy silverado) i dont like any of the aftermarket options for the turn signals the ones on it are a clear lenses with the chrome reflective stuff for the lights to shine off of i was wondering do u guys think if i took vht smoke spray and sprayed the inner chrome would the reflectiveness still be there with just a black/smoked look or do u think i would lose it?

  8. Has any body tried to put the frontier or xterra headers on the pathfinder cause i would like to do that

     

    Also is there any way to go to a carbed setup with a stand alone gas and ignition set up as it being a mudder im not worried about mpg

  9. Well a few months ago the vg33e started blowing white but last weekend i ran it and it didnt blow smoke so idk i was considering the swap but now that it stopped im ganna stick with the vg

     

    If i was to pick up a vq motor:

    1. Would my drive accessory's work on it

    2. Would my trans work with

So i recently sold my 2 camaros because i didnt have space so i now have money that would of gone into that motor to put into the pathfinder as its my only toy now so i was on 4x4parts and i see for the 3.3 they have euro cams and high performance cams which ones would be better for a mud toy build and what other mod would get me more horse power other than forced induction

     

    I already have a more open exhaust and cai(soon to be a diy snorkle)

  11. So after getting a couple new vehicles i really miss the community and togetherness and all around niceness you guys show/ have here i have been going on a couple other forums for the new trucks and they are all filled with jerks that would rather insult and fight with you than help

    So i would just like to say thank you for being a actual helpful fourm and i wish i could find one like you guys for chevys

  13. Yeah i gained maybe 1mpg or 2mpg and a lil power. I also did a more open exhaust and a throttle body spacer. But it does sound pretty ba when i hammer on it

     

    Dont do a throttle body spacer it didnt help much of anything i just got a good deal on the one i have

So my gmc i bought last winter is becoming a money pit so its time to ship her on her way so theres a 04 xterra with 117xxx auto with the 3.3 i belive (info just says v6) it does not have a hitch however so before i call on it i am wondering if the hitch off my 97 pathy will mount to it? And the hubs on my pathy came off a 01 xterra will they fit the 04 xterra? Do the 04 xterra still have a 6 on 5.5 bolt pattern ?
