Hi all,
i am as my screen name suggests a 4x4 noob. Got my very first big boys vehicle yesterday and keen to start hitting the bush.
Been scouring the forum for any information i can about this sport/lifestyle. Any pointers or handholding is most welcome - lets just keep the hand holding to a minimum dont want the wife getting the wrong idea. A bit about my 4x4 its a 93 R3m V6 terrano with aprox 120000 miles (192000km) on her. The drive home yesterday was interesting at highway speeds she seems to wag her arse and parked on level the arse end seems lower than the front fractionally. My background i grew up with 4 uncles who are mechanics/painters/tow truck drivers so have had an extensive apprenticeship, having said that i dont think i was listening most of the time.
I love to tinker with cars (much to my wifes dismay) so when my current dd chewed itself up i started looking for the next tinker toy, (wifes view point) she asked me what would it take for me to stop tinkering, the result my purchase yesterday, little does she know.
Looking for any like minded people in auckland area NZ to get out and about with, was contemplating going it alone but not comfortable with the idea of phoning home to ask the little lady for a tow. Anyway chaps thanks for allowing me to join, i promise you wont regret it... much!
