  1. I wouldn't worry about an oem one. As long as it's the correct rebuilt one. While doing that I would have them flush the system real good and replace all the oring and expansion valve. Because when a compressor goes bad. Some of the pieces can get into the system in thr condenser and other piping. Which you don't want coming loose later and eating up your new compressor. The expansion valve is basically a maintenance part. Age and debris in thr system can cause it to stick or failure. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  2. What is the issue that has you in the direction of replacing the cats? Replacing them would be best with some air tools. The issues is that some of the bolts and nuts can easily snap. Considering age and corrosion. The fronts are kinda a PITA to get to. The cheapest place I've found them is online. Not sure if waiting is in your schedule. Otherwise your kinda stuck with auto store ones. Then either attempting it yourself. Or having a shop do it. Best bet would to find a reputable exhaust shop for this. 3. Yup. AC compressor. Could be the clutch, could be the compressor itself. If you can find one and get it replaced before the trip. Go for it. Remember you'll also need to recharge the system. Or, could wait until you get to Atlanta? If your going to be moving there. It may make the journey, just with a bunch of racket. May let go on the way.
  4. If I remember correctly it has been done. Search VLSD into R200 and it should pop up. But a Lokka is pretty cheap. Probably cheaper in the long run. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  5. Yes. I don't drive it much anymore and need a truck anyways. I've probably driven it 50 miles since last thanksgiving. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  6. Ok. Was just a thought. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  7. Specific to hardbody's? I'm about to sell my 99.

  10. I also have the factory nissan manual on the siriusxm install. Which gives you troubleshooting guides. Whats interesting is that for 2003-2004 Pathfinders. It's noted that they are Port Install only and no dealer install kits. But gives you the part numbers for everything in case you have to replace any components. Even gives out Clarion dealer number to call for repairs. Might take a chance and call them. Never know. However in the end. Probably cheaper overall to replace the entire system with all new wiring and components from after market. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  11. Everything is stock as far as I know. Ok, this is what I figured out. Someone jerry rigged the splice for the RCA pre out for an amp at some point. To the rear speaker output wires. So, I cut that out. Didn't want to mess with the splices. Who every did that, messed with the harness that was the factory one for power to the Satellite box. So, I was able to figure out, Orange is Ground, Yellow is always 12v+ hot, Red is 12v+ Ignition hot. Found the coordinating original harness wires and used some 3M quick splices to get it clean power and remove the mess they made. Not perfect, but better than what was done. Verified on harness to satellite box in the back. So, that's good. Then once all the jumbo was taken out, and I was able to put everything back together. Viola! Front speakers don't cut out anymore! Imagine that. But, now the satellite radio, doesn't want to actually receive a signal and work. I have a new antenna, plus ohm'd it out. Checks good. All wiring on N Bus wiring checks good. Opened up the box to see if I could see anything obvious. Nothing, so I don't know. Only replacements are on ebay. As this boxes are discontinued. Unless by some chance, Clarion actually does repair them.
  12. So my radio has been acting up according to the wife. Plus the factory Sirius XM doesn't work half the time. Removed the radio and found this mess. To me. Looks like the PO had a put in some kind of amp for a sub? The RCA box as a pre out? The blue went under the driver seat and ended. Figure that was the signal wire? But the splice job is WTF worthy. I know the fat round bundle is for the Siriusxm. But cant figure out what the red yellow and orange are for it. I'm about to look at the siriusxm box in the back. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  13. Use one clamp or the other. Using the oem clamp and the hose clamp like that will cause the hose to distort and possibly cause a leak. P Just use the screw style clamp and get proper sized hose. Look at heater hose, since it can take the heat. Not fuel line. Plus, clean the nipples the hose slides over.
  14. ^^^heed above advice. Galvanized metal makes very bad fumes when welding. I'd also look to add more cross bracing. Right now, the floor is just a ┼ I'd try to make it more like ╪ Well, you get the idea.
  15. Does an R51 really have much more room over a R50? 3 car seats, man I'd be looking at an Armada or something if you wanted to stay Nissan.
  16. 05-07 had major issues with the transmission cooler in the radiators corroding the transmission cooler. Turning the fluid into strawberry milk. Destroying the transmission in thr process. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  17. Thermostat are quick and easy. Plus you get a chance to re bleed the system. If you want when you refill add in some Water Wetter. Good stuff. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

  20. 198 vs 245ish. 265 rated in the cars. I own both. Tell ya what. Real tempted to ditch the 99 for a 02+ just because of the 3.5. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  21. Moment of enthusiasm, heh. Try FactoryNissanParts.com? Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  22. Sounds like a blocked passage in your rack and pinion. Or the internal seals are shot. Any decent mechanical shop can diagnose it properly. If so can rebuild it or try a junker one. Rebuilt from parts store. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  23. Remember shocks and struts are usually good for about 50k miles street driven. Less once you start going off road or have rough roads, rears sooner if towing. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  24. Not that I know off. I've only found one blog of a guy doing it in a Jeep. It's on my bucket list. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
