  1. Epic bump - are there any better aftermarket automatic locking hubs that I can get for my 95 XE? I'm not a huge fan of the manual ones....
  2. Yea thats what I did but what i dont get is it says many different ones say they fit on amazon so i'm hoping i got the right size... I was comparing it to this video and it looks about the same but that sway bar looks pretty dang thick.... I'll have to go check it out and see if it fits. Do you guys think the new brakes will be an improvement over OEM? (dayum the rotors and drums are heavy!)
  3. Does anyone know what the size of the front sway bars are? is it 20mm or 24mm? Hoping I got the right sized bushing for the front end...
  4. Update: I added some brake fluid and the ABS and BRAKE lights went away and I noticed an immediate improvement in braking response... no leaks detected around the master cylinder but the cap for the resivoir doesn't want to thread onto the res...... its not loose but I'd rather have it tightened down... anyways I bought these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000COB1ES/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000F399JA/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000IYMMZO/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00386ZLCU/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CK5KR6/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000C6ZW9G/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i03?ie=UTF8&psc=1 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000IYMMZO/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i04?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This should be a vast improvement with the new brakes, front sway bar bushings & rancho shocks..... thoughts? I still need to get parts for the timing belt change and all the other belts / spark plugs, wires & distributor... might also need a new alternator but not sure yet....
  5. Anyone have a manual for a 1995 XE Auto? Thx! http://www.nissan-techinfo.com/deptog.aspx?dept_id=36 Found a useful link
  6. Did you get yours yet? Should I order this one for my 95? http://www.grassroots4x4.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=5&category_id=3&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=29&vmcchk=1&Itemid=29 It seems fairly easy to install - DIY? and does it have to be on a lift? thx
  7. thanks everyone for their help! I bought this: http://www.calmini.com/detail.php?b=1&m=3&t=10&p=627&n= I'm hoping it will help my sloppy steering... ok now I'm guessing the "idler arm" is the equivalent to the drop links for the sway bars on a sports car correct? And why do idler arms go bad? Also replacing the passenger side will do what vs replacing the drivers side idler arm? And should I stick to OEM or beef it up? I know thats a mouthful just trying to tighten things up thanks!
  8. Thanks guys! I'll probably stick to OEM sizes.... Now I noticed my tachometer isn't working - it just sits around 1k-2k and does nothing.... it doesn't really bother me much so its not a huge issue.... Also there's some cracking and crunching noises when I'm taking tight turns - are my wheel bearings shot? It also does the same when I'm reversing and braking so I think its the rear brakes are toast too...... so many things to fix!
  9. so if I want a bit wider tire to look a tiny bit more aggressive, should I do 245/75/15 and still be squarish? thanks
  10. Oops yea I meant to select 235/75/15's... thanks what are some bigger sizes that I can get to make them taller? 235/80/15's? I love the square looking tires not so much the round doughnut looking tires...or i may just stick to OEM to save on gas.
  11. Also I gotta pickup new tires - and I love the tall square looking tires..... should I stick with the 235/75/15? or go with a taller one? http://www.americastire.com/dtcs/findTireDetail.do?c=4&rcz=91521&ar=75&rf=true&rd=15&rc=CALINT&cs=215&dVeh=dVeh&ra=searchTiresByVehicleAndSize.do&tc=MTAVL8&tt=false&yr=1995&pc=38090&vid=006384&sw=false Looking at these... thoughts?
  12. Thanks for the tip! how big of a deal is it to replace that?
  13. I just hope its not too stiff..... probably wont be stiffer than my NSX though
  14. so are the 5000's stiffer? i want something that will absorb all the bumps and speed humps without the whole truck bouncing for 300 feet afterwards....... lol
  15. Just ordered the Ranch RS5000 shocks hopefully that will improve the ride... right now when i go over humps the whole truck bounces 3 or 4 times haha... Or should I cancel that and change to Pro Comp Suspension ES4000 Toxic ? I want more comfort and to be able to take some bumps w/o jumping around too much....
  16. Can you elaborate on the impact on impact off? what does that do? ... I dont do much off roading but may do some see some snow if I go up to big bear this year... the tires aren't ready for that yet though... Is it a PITA to upgrade the idler arm? Can this be done while swapping out the shocks? Also I have an ABS light and the BRAKE lights on at the same time even though the parking brake is not engaged..... anything to worry about? Thanks everyone for your help!
  17. haha I've always wanted to do this... would it look ok? I would keep the seats and take out the carpet and cover the backs of the rear seats and floors in spray in bedliner... what you guys think? Am I crazY?
  18. what is the difference between the $67 ones and the $76 ones? http://www.4wheelparts.com/Lift-Kits-Suspensions-Shocks/Bilstein-Shocks-4600-series.aspx?t_c=1&t_s=90&t_pt=3306&t_pn=BIL24-185080 they dont seem to vary much ...... The keyless locks works great and even makes the noise just not sure what that 3 position rocker switch does above the red light....... Also looking at this to clean up the slop in the steering: http://www.calmini.com/detail.php?b=1&m=3&t=10&p=622&n= How difficult is it to install this kit? I have an Acura NSX so I'm used to more precise steering .... I'm sure the mismatched tires dont help much *doh*
  19. I might just go with the beilsteins but cant decide on whch ones to get? http://www.4wheelparts.com/Lift-Kits-Suspensions-Shocks/Shock-Absorbers.aspx?t_c=1&t_s=90&t_pt=3306 All I want is a comfortable ride and to be able to take some bumps without feeling too harsh and unsettling the truck...
  20. and regarding the white color i love it! lol its mine! hahah
  21. hmm interesting.... it doesn't have the XE-V6 on the back gate oddly enough. And for the orange sticker are you talking about the rear diff case? Is it worth upgrading the drum brakes to disc brakes? Or leave it as is? There is this switch right under the center arm rest with a red light on it and when I open and close the doors, it blinks... is that some sort of keyless system? Maybe its aftermarket...
  22. Here she is finally! I'm not sure if its an XE or SE how can I tell? Its a 95 4x4 3.0L runs good with 154K... needs new shocks and new brakes & an alignment and some cleaning on the inside but so far so good! Anyone know where I can find the top part of the dash? Mine is all cracked... I dont want to get those cheese ball covers.... and any recommendations for shocks? What brand?
  23. thanks but its way too beat up for $500... found another one for 2k... not going to jinx it this time I'll let you know once I pick it up! with pics of course haha
  24. man I think I jinxed myself..... The seller sold the truck out from under me. if he had the title in hand, i'd be driving it around. does anyone know if anyones selling a 95 or older Pathfinder in SoCal? Really need to find something ASAP....... thanks guys!
  25. About to buy a 95 XE-V6 and I know they're notorious for exhaust leaks... so what are my options for headers & cat back exhaust? Searching online I've found countless generic sites that don't show the actual product... Also, this pathfinder I'm looking at takes a while to warm up and I'm guessing its the thermostat? I also noticed that the coolant overflow tank was almost empty.....Another issue is the tachometer sits at 8k and doesn't move... there's also a CEL which I'm hoping are minor issues to fix... is it worth it? Brakes seem to fade a bit so they might need to be replaced soon too.. This one has 218K on the clock and runs smooth... going to pick it up for $1200 so I figure its a good deal for a daily beater... Thanks for the help in advance! Thanks!
