  1. You'd probably have an aneurysm if you saw mine right now! I did just clean the inside of the windshield though, cause I couldn't see anything on my way to work, in the morning sun! LMAO
  2. Welcome! Nice addition, now you've got small, medium & large! ?
  3. Has anybody determined what size tires can be run with the 2.5" kit? I'm strongly considering the purchase of a R51 and would like to go with 285's. I also happen to be eyeballing a 2014 Xterra Pro4x, which I know I can do what I want with, but I'd rather have the 3rd row option since the kids continue to grow...
  4. What year R50? If your pre-facelift your options are open to a small size light in the stock location (I replaced my broken oem's with led cubes on my 96). If your post-facelift just pickup a set of oem replacement off eBay, pop them in & your good to go
  5. After modding my Titan with an intake, JWT cams, long tube headers, Cajun catless b-pipes, uprev tuning and such, I used ported o2 spacers from Big Daddy's Garage. Like @nunyasaid, no inspection station I ever brought it to ever did a visual, as long as the obd2 said it was good, it got a sticker. Results may vary in other states though. P.s. I do really miss how much fun that truck was, but don't miss that gas bill!!
  6. Am I safe to assume, since you mentioned the portability of the patches, that they are Velcro backed? Cause that would be awesome!
  7. I'll be interested to see how this works out. Always appreciate "thinking outside the box"!
  8. Clean work and subtle, but subtle is good! IIRC, there's a pinch weld behind the plastic liner in the rear of the well where you described your persistent rub. That can be remedied by pulling the liner out of the way, flattening the raised area, replace the liner, put some heat to the liner and massage it a bit.
  9. I'm patiently waiting to see the new available products and how much of my money you guys are gonna end up with!
  10. Really well thought out and executed build! Also really love that it's not a mall crawler, that it actually gets used regularly for it intended purpose. Really like the more utilitarian looks of the 1st gen R50's, makes me regret selling my 96, should've kept it to use as the beach cruiser/woods bomber. And I'm jealous of all the "playgrounds" you have around you, we've got nothing like that here, closest orv park is 6-7hrs away...
  11. How have I not heard about this?! Maybe cause I'm not on Facebook? Do they have a website or something? Sorry @mtgunner, your thread kind of went astray.
  12. Well said @pathydude17, Steve is a great guy, a great asset to this niche market and his products are of phenomenal quality, but you're very correct, if you flex your R50 out with any sort of regularity, don't go over 1" on spacers.
  13. I have been running Old Man Emu MD springs on all corners (approximately 3/4 inch over fresh stock height) for over 120k miles on my 01 SE. Initially I was running 255/70 Yokohama AT2's, as that is what I replaced the original 255/65 Toyo's with, had no issues at stock height. Once I needed tires again (after the spring swap), I went with 265/70 General AT2's which cleared the front struts by just enough to be comfortable with. I was recently due for tires again, spent about a month doing research, finally decided on the Falken Wildpeak AT3W'S (ordered from tirebuyer.com & had delivered to a local firestone, less expensive than anywhere else I could find). It turns out the Falken must run a little larger than average, as the 265's rubbed the struts. They actually had a set of 255's in stock and they were super cool about swapping to those. Had I wanted to buy & install wheel spacers, the 265's would've worked, but I didn't want to go that route. Keep in mind, any change in lift height has absolutely no effect on the distance between the wheel mounting surface and coil bucket on the struts, only wheel backspace/offset can play a role there. Over the years I ran 3 different manufacturers of 265/70 (Goodyear Silent Armor, Definity AT & General Grabber AT2's), all on the same set of factory wheels, without rubbing. Also, as far as the Falkens go, the 265's had a 4 ply sidewall, whereas the 255's have a 6 ply, so I'm probably better off in the end. I've had them for a few thousand miles now, in every type of weather (except extreme heat) and they've been impressive. As far as your thoughts about lifting, although I love Steve's products, my suggestion would be to look into OME springs, as they have held up really well, do firm up the ride, but not to an uncomfortable point and they also handle a load far better than stock (no more bottoming out with some gear, or 2 people in the back). I'm approaching 130k miles on my MD springs and I'm preparing to freshen things up, as they're finally losing a bit of cargo carrying capacity (I frequently tow a loaded trailer or trunk full of tools), so I'm going with the md's again (approximately $170/set, but we'll worth every penny). Sorry for the long winded read, but figured it couldn't hurt to offer all the information I could.
  14. Nice fab work! Certainly increased your approach angle!
  15. The "titanium tint" trim was exclusive on the 99.5-01 SE. Just fyi.
  16. Wish I could find a carrier around here, should've took it off my 96 before I sold it! Lol
  17. Yesterday, received my repaired ECU, slapped it in, completed the idle relearn, got my baby back on the road! With the fresh tune up, new IACV, repaired computer, new belts, recent tires & brakes, she's running like new again! Next up, suspension overhaul...
  18. E-locker was/is part of the Pro4x (formerly OffRoad) package which was available on earlier R51's (and on 2nd gen Xterra, still available on Titan & Frontier). Only downside to that is (in factory form) it only works in 4 low, but can be modded to be available on demand.
  19. Replaced both drive belts, oil change, new plugs & boots, replaced IACV, removed ECM to send out to Circuit Board Medics. Maybe while she's laid up I'll do the suspension overhaul too.
  20. Incredibly! Lol. I wanted it strictly for parts and told the guy at the dealership I'd have given him the $500 back in a heartbeat, he said "leave me your number, I'll call you if I get another", I told him "you won't", and left. Lol
  21. A guy on my route HAD a 2000 with the carrier, I told him several times over the last few years, to let me know if he's ever looking to get rid of it. A few weeks ago I realized I hadn't seen it in a while. The next time I saw him, I asked about it. He bought a new expedition and took $500 for trade-in!! The real KITA when I inquired with the dealership he dealt with, THEY SCRAPPED IT because it had "some rust"!!
  22. I've been running synthetic dextron/mercon since the first change @ 30k miles, I'm now around 185k miles, no transmission issues to report. I did the first fluid/filter change at 30k, 2nd at 60k, 3rd at 100k, 4th at 150k, I'll do another at 200k. P.s. I've owned it since new in 01
  23. Or maybe try the oem supercharger that was an option in the VG33 in the xterra & frontier. That'd probably take a ton of guesswork, custom fabbing & tuning out of the equation.
