  1. Definitely check to see if the bars can be indexed back to the right height before hand.

A good shop can do this quite easily. Especially if they have computerized alignment equipment.

You could probably also do it yourself.

Only reason I replaced mine is because they broke from unusual circumstances.

  2. 5&7/8 pints, so 3 quarts, but I want you to do something as well.

Go to the pinned FSM thread in the Garage section, follow the links and download your own free copy of the 1994 year (the earliest one) and look in the MA file. The vast majority of the info is the same as the 1990 model barring dash, exterior trim, timing belt intervals and tie rod end sizes. 95% of it applies to you and is your new bible... ;)

I checked there for the LSD additive. I might have missed it, but it doesn't seem to mention even using LSD additive, just compatible oil.

  3. I have an engine that's built with a little more power than stock.

Its better with more power, but it still feels like it needs a couple more gears, or at least better shift programming.

I still love it to pieces, wheels nearly as good as my CJ, and a lot more comfortable.

  4. I use 235/75/r15s on my 1968 Jeep with 15x8 wheels. Even that is pushing it too far, you can see it. Airing down is questionable, really shouldn't be done on a wheel wider than 6, maybe 6.5 inches.

Only reason I still use them is I'm still trying to decide what the next tires will be.

  5. As someone who has driven an auto pathy for years, off road, on road, up and down hills, I say manual.

The automatic is just terrible at choosing gears. I often find myself bogging up hills until I disengage overdrive, and climb at 4,000 RPM.

Unless its gonna be an in town vehicle, in that case I would say auto is find.

  6. Yes, go through your wiring first, most people find them adequate at that point. Some better bulbs help as well, some Sylvania coming to mind but I can't recall the exact info. (well covered in previous threads)

Download the 1994 FSM from the pinned thread in the Garage section, it will have wiring diagram that should be the same.

The other way to go is install fog or driving lights and aim them so you can use them on the street as well.

I have 2 Hella fogs and 2 Hella HIDs on mine (in addition to stock lights), but haven't done the bulb/relay work yet. At that point, I suspect the headlights and fogs will take care of everything I need, while the HIDs are good to warn the crappy HID/projector crowd; I get highbeam flashed with them @ 1/8 mile+.

Lighting is totally subjective to needs, uses and wants. Just make sure you get what you need without compromising someone else.

Funny story on a long, slow, open, straight away... An on coming car with very bright lights so I flip on the high beams. They hit high beams, I assume (me thinking it was too bright to begin with) so I flipped on the fog lights. They turned on another set of lights (I can't see crap now), and then I fired up the HIDs. They turn on with a flashbulb ignition, then warm to brightness...

Lights start shutting down on the other vehicle and I drop all mine down as well. Maybe it was just the effect, but I swear his low lights weren't as bright as I had seen that started it all.

Driving with my HIDs on coming down a mountain road last weekend (on a flat portion of the road), a large lifted truck was driving with their brights on. Being taller than me, I know my lights weren't an issue for them, so I flashed my brights. He turned a *#%!ing lightbar on and I nearly had to stop driving because I was seeing spots.

  7. What he said, pathfinders are all from Japan. So it's going to have Japanese writing to help during the assembly process. Even the part that I got from Mexico for a friend's maxima had Japanese writing on it.

P.s. Be careful using "Jap" if I remember correctly, it's sorta a derogatory word toward Japanese people.

I know this thread is practically ancient but I ran across it in a search.

You are correct Kyle it is a derogatory word.
