  1. The VG34 brings these WD21s to life. My opinion if you want to get more power out of it would be to engine swap or build the engine. I drove a stock WD21 for many years and I never had a problem with it unless we loaded it with people.
  2. I completely understand. I'm studying to be an automotive technician and getting ready to rebuild my CJ. I just hate dealing with glass at the end of the day. I've pulled windshields and set glass a couple times. I find it way more stressful than most other r&rs.
  3. You couldn't pay me to install my own windshield on any of my vehicles, not even my '68 CJ that's basically a trail rig right now. Seems to make more sense to pay a professional.
  4. If theexbrit doesn't chime in, I'll just give him a call and tell him to get on it. I think I still have his phone number.
  5. Jeep cracked its starter, so thats just a money issue. My dad's 3.3 wd21 won't idle and barely starts, seems like it might be fuel related but I don't know enough to figure it out.
  6. None right now. Both 4x4s are out of commission.
  7. Oh thats a fun trip! I did that once with theexbrit. Fun trip, would be nice to go back now that I dont have street tires anymore.
  8. Normal for most transmissions in my experiece. Non syncronized reverse gear. My Jeep grinds unless you shift into first, wait a second or two, then slowly go into reverse.
  9. Project pathfinder is gonna get its filter located. Took my and the technician working on it (at my auto class) about an hour to get the filter off. The 3.0 filter location is bad, the 3.3 is even worse (less room!)
  10. The idea for this thread is to boil it way down. Not to list what everyone carries. Seems different to me?
  11. For a moment I thought (based on the title) that the problem was no rpms at 95 mph!
  12. When we bought it, they told us the #2 cams were still in the Nissan Motorsports inventory. That was a while ago, they may not carry them anymore.
  13. I thought they covered the part where they went to the VG33E block on their website? Because that's what it has now. Guess I can't help you then.
  14. Project Pathfinder was built by MotoIQ out here in SoCal. I dont know where the thread is here on NPORA, but here is their website. Its faster than a stock pathfinder, buts its no muscle car. As I said its mainly torque. http://www.motoiq.com/MagazineArticles/ID/902/Project-Pathfinder-Part-1.aspx
  15. VG 33, cams, pistons, intake, exhaust, a bit of boring. Mine's pretty torquey. Used to be that if the snow got up to my bumper I was stuck. Now I just lay on the pedal and tear through it. Of course my mpg goes down real quick.
  16. Try searching the forum on electric fan stuff. There are a lot fo great write ups, and with the right fan and a properly functioning cooling system you should have no problems. You should also read up on keeping the autotragic transmission happy, theres some reccomendations on trans coolers. I personally know forum member theexbrit is running an efan on his r50. His rig has stayed cool in places where mine nearly overheated with the bored out 3.3 and other goodies. If you can find them, I reccomend the Thourley headers (spelling?). I love them.
  17. Just interjecting for future reference I believe the DOT says replace tires after 7 years. I'd reccomend replacement if you can afford it and your current tires are cracked.
  18. When I did that to my last WD21 I found out it only had to drive to the yard and have seat belt for driver, seat, turn signals, windows, mirrors, etc. Ripped so much off of it.
  19. Sounds like a super tight fit. However, the HP is quite nice. Especially out of something that made 320~ from the start, versus built to make 300~. If it can fit, why not?
  20. I don't know if it would touch the ground, I was trying to tease more than anything else. Depends on the limits of the suspension. I do know that depending on the length of the current brake lines, they could be too short. They were never designed to be used with the sway bar removed. They may work but should be checked first.
  21. If you do disconnect the sway bar, check the flex before the trail. Wouldn't want to blow a brake line or damage something.
