  1. are the 84 to 89 turbo 300's 30 spline? I was told the turbo diffs dont work. now is this becuase they are talking about the entire housing or just the Diff itself? Ill look around for a 84-89 300 diff. or ill just order one from car-parts.com. I will still install this one just to see the removal and install process.
  2. oh I know and believe me I rather run a clutch type. all I carry is Kaaz, and carbonetics... both of which I cant justify spending 800 on. 4x4parts has some lockers I was looking at... but again $800ish. some drifters sugest putting in an additional washer to lock it down more. they seem to have good luck with them... Any feed back on that additional washer?
  3. once I finish up some of my projects I be more then happy to help you out building a rack... I got bender and welder.... bring tube, and a 24 pack.
  4. that lexan has been hit with a baseball bat.... the batters arm was hurting afterwards :-) I ran a little thin 1/8th" lexan on rubber bushings. the lights are very well protected, if they do take a hard hit they will fold down so I think im good. the project total is about 300; 4 Hella lights 2 HID kits 6 rattle cans of truck liner (I totally effed this up. I should have just bought real spray on liner/gun) 8 10' EMT 6 bolts 12 nuts 24 washers 24 Bud light's (trying to keep cal count down) My next one will be 1" DOM not EMT. just need to buy the die.I will also designed it to mount to the factor rack tracks.
  5. So I dont do any offroading... I mainly roadrace (FIA,NASA) I own my pathfinder becuase I love downhill biking in the summer, and Snowboarding in the winter. I wanna start adding another fun sport in there. So my question, is there any offroading around the eastside? I have a stock 97 pathfinder with 235 75 15 toyo at's .... and definitly a NOOB
  6. I was think about taking another piece and wraping it around the edge to cover the whole front. I need to keep the cover up becuase I drove out to the pass for some snowboarding action... and there are alot of trucks throwing up rocks... hard to tell but the windshield is cracked from a semi.
  7. Still working on the roof rack.. will need to cover the corner of rack near the lights. I dont like the current look of the lexon. Please give me some ideas for it.
  8. so what I have is a 30 spline vlsd. I need to clarify that I will be gutting out my current axle. I only have the actual Diff its self. so if my current axle is 30 spline, and if the ring bolts to this diff I should be good. (i think ) as for orientation I was concered about the ring clearing the housing (from past r-awd m4 project that got scrapped) Ill post my diff pic tonight
  9. Just a small update, finding out that alot of diff internals are the same... between NA 300zx and path front axel.
  10. Thank you thank you, Its is all buget build for me, I will post some shots tonight. any WA people that could point me to some easy night trails that would be cool (wanna test out my lights) Thanks
  11. thank you for giving me something to work off of. I think the non-twin-turbo 300 is only a R200... I know its a good working diff as I drove it around before buying the engine (and diff for 5 bucks) (it was for a friends project) I guess I will need to pull the axels and check to see if they will interface. Ill check around the DIY area for removal tips... fleurys - you mentioned its high pinion reverse cut. Ill need to see a rear VS front exploded view to make sure it can fit as guts only... which was what I was planning on doing. I could see it being an identical oriantation, just differance ring and pinion. great point, thank you! Ill take some pictures of what I have and post them... maybe you guys will have an idea about the output splines
  12. So i have done some searching around but am getting conflicting infomation about installing a front lsd. I have a 97 pathfinder with factory rear lsd, I also have a 300zx Z32 VLSD DIFFERENTIAL which I think is a R200... I want to install the differential to the front axel, from my understanding I should have a r200 front axel. So can anyone clearify if this will work for me... I am also to the point of just dropping the front axel and find out for myself. IF it all fits, ill get some pictures and a write up!
  13. hey, Had my 97 pathfinder for 2 years or so...I bought it for 800, with 2 salvaged titles, has a ton of bondo from the last owner, 200k, and still running like a champ! so far I built a huge roof rack with 4 hid lights... I am process of building a tubular front and rear pumper , with hidden front winch. my next project is to correct the rearend wiggle on this r50's. I plan to build affordable Heim Joint solutions for people like me who own a truck for snowsports. Ill also try to post write ups as I do some projects....
