Where WD21 vehicles were built: Kyushu, Japan
jwblue replied to jwblue's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
I wonder if there would be a quality difference in a vehicle if it was built by American workers vs. Japanese workers, all other things being equal. I doubt it. I think vehicle quality has more to do with design then who turns the bolts. -
Recently, Nissan created individual corporations for each of their manufacturing plants in order to create competitiveness between plants and improve vehicle quality. Interesting idea. Here is a website for the plant. A lot of interesting information on that site. http://www.nissan.co.jp/AREA/FUKUOKA/ENGLISH/index.html If I was in Japan I would definitely take a plant tour. It is about 3 hours by train/plane $460. Five hours by train and bus @$270.

I assume FWD/AWD refers to front wheel drive/all wheel drive. What exactly is that? How is that different than the R50 and WD21 and how does it effect off road performance? As for how it looks, I wouldn't care as long as it performs.

Does being a unibody mean it will not perform as well offroad? I have not done a lot of offroading.
-
Thinking about it again, it might be too car like for my taste.

http://jeffldunham.blogspot.com/2011/07/2012-2013-nissan-pathfinder.html Love the sleek look. The Patrol overseas is supposed to be redesigned as well. X-Terra will be new also. I was thinking about getting an Land Rover LR4, but would consider one of these.

1994 SE : Was a Vehicle Security System standard equipment?
jwblue replied to jwblue's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Thank you for those photos. So does that mean it was not even possible to custom order a Pathfinder from Nissan with an alarm system? Only the dealer could install it? Just curious. Why do you believe the starter kills is not effective? -

I was reading the manual for Vehicle Security System that came with the Pathfinder. I also noticed that the alarm can be disabled by turning the ignition switch. Is that easily done without a key? The manual doesn't say anything about a starter kill. Can the wire be replaced instead of getting a new horn? Are you going to try and fix the stock alarm horn? If you are, I am curious enough to hear it. -
I wish they offered these factory cup holders in America
jwblue replied to jwblue's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Did everyone else figure out how to best utilize the pull down cup holders in the center console of the 93-95 (maybe earlier years as well) Pathfinder? It actually wasn't until two years of owning the Pathfinder that I knew they were there. While driving, I take my left arm and reach underneath my right arm which is holding the wheel. Then I grab the drink and pull my left arm back underneath my right arm. -

I tried a 91 and 92 Hardbody VIN and neither came up as being compatable. Maybe since they were not originally put in the vehicle, it does not come up. If anyone is interested, I would e-mail them. -

Unbelievable. I found one on a couple of sites. http://www.nissanpartszone.com/parts/nissan-holder-assy-cup~68430-75p00.html On the first one, there is a VIN search to find out if it will fit a particular vehicle. When I copy and pasted a VIN for a 94 PF, it said that the part would not fit. When I entered each number separately, I received an inconclusive message. I am not sure how accurate that search is. Maybe since it wasn't a part that was included in the vehicle, it is not coming up. Here is a complete list of compatible vehicles. http://www.nissanpartszone.com/Page_Product/PartsFits.aspx?partNumber=68430-75P00 In the trim column, none of them match what was offered for a Pathfinder. Does anyone know if any Pathfinder is on that list? Here is another site. http://www.g35parts.com/Nissan-part-number-68430-75P00-p/68430-75p00.htm http://www.g35parts.com/pindex.asp?Page=852 -
I have a 94 sales catalogue. No cloth heated seats offered.

There were OEM tow hooks offered by Nissan specifically for the WD21?
-
For anyone wondering what the trim (XE or SE) is for your 93-95 Pathfinder. XEs have a white "Pathfinder" sticker on the rear side window. SEs have a gold one.

Did anyone buy a 94 Patfhinder SE when it was new?

Did it have leather? -

That is a heck of a deal. When dealerships are going out of business, that is the time to pounce. They are usually at invoice as soon as a customer walks in the door. -
Did anyone custom order their Pathfinder from the factory?

Can I ask how much you paid? -

I am getting the MSRP as $29,449. Was the dealership tougher about bringing down the price on a factory ordered vehicle? -
