  1. May be bit late for you BlueKrogan.. I had same situation for my '95 LBYD21. Apparently a number of Nissan wheels from that era fit, including those from Pulsar (N14), maybe 'NX' in your market? Best options in NZ were pulsar gti/gti-r and skyline GTR wheels in leather, but they are crazy money. I know the S15 (200sx) wheel does NOT fit. The horn contacts are too far forward/offset from the splined fitting. I ended up with a Nardi wheel and cheap aftermarket boss kit.
  2. Hey guys, been a while. Have a long standing issue that I'd like to resolve - hope you can give me some pointers. More often than not, when I take off from either stand-still, or simply having slowed for traffic lights (in 2WD), there's a delayed 'thump' felt coming from the driveline. Seems more noticeable when already moving, maybe due to not using clutch. It's not audible as far as I can tell (over slightly noisy intake, exhaust, and tyres), but it's very clearly felt 'in the seat'. It only happens once on acceleration, within a short delay of punching the gas pedal. ie car first starts moving, then it happens. I'm pretty certain it's not just lash in the gearbox/diff therefore. If I slow down really gently, on the gears or just coasting, and then accelerate again, it's often not felt. It almost feels like the clutch slips a turn, then bites aggressively... But clutch seems pretty good. Not slipping in 5th, up hill, etc... Doesn't hardly slip when dumped with revs. I did wonder if sticking of the slip joint in the main driveshaft could cause this? ie torque from motor makes it adjust length slightly, but it's binding up. Vehicle details: JDM R3M Urban - LBYD21 (thats a TD27T diesel model) 31" ATs 5 speed manual H233 read diff with LSD (fitted from a higher spec vehicle years ago) 2" raised rear springs, and wound up torsion bars (no panhard drop bracket, or longer swaybar links) Good HD shocks (issue predates replacement anyway) Thanks for any suggestions!
  3. Hi all, I've got to replace a couple of tyres soon. Will stick with 31x10.5r15 ATs for now but want to change over to some other rims I have, 15x8.5 -27 offset. I have a wide body 1995 model. Are these too far offset for the pathfinder? Currently have 15x7 -13 aftermarket rims. Thanks guys.
  4. Looks nice - good work. Hah, my Dad cut a thin piece hardboard to the shape of the top of the handle, covered it in grey (bad match) vinyl, and stuck it on top with contact adhesive. Wish I had a photo... Needless to say I replaced it when I took over the vehicle, bit too ghetto for my taste. Took a while to find a good one though - appears this is a weak spot on the interior.
  5. It's the 'rheostat'. This is from the '93 and earlier service manual. Both VG30 and KA24 use the four wire, but notice that one wire simply loops over. I suspect it's for self-illumination, and the 3 wire just has this connection done internally. So essentially would be able to use both. I have the '94 manual suplement, but it does not cover this, so may be the same.
  6. How do the pre 94 ones mount that is so different? Are you talking about the ones that are similar width to widebody, or just the almost-not-there lip style? I have a 95 with widebody flares (colour coded, as it's a JDM Terrano). They have a molding right down to the bottom of the front bumper - not great....
  7. Ah, what a shame. Somebody over here is making some custom flares that look like 'pumped guards', that he plans to sell. They allow larger tires with underlying guards trimmed. Only downside is they will be fibreglass (kinda have to be with their size). I've contemplated using my widebody flares (with a few mods) as plugs for a mold, and casting two pot rubber in to them. They would be changed to attach probably from the outside. Never liked the look of the off-the-roll multipurpose stuff.
  8. Thanks man, no hurry, let me know how much it'll be, and I'll tx some $. Don't worry about it if more than say $15 or so, probably just wire in a trimpot in that case. Black one preferably (in case they come in other colors).
  9. hmmm, would anyone be prepared to send me one of these ones to NZ?
  10. Hey Precise1, Are those flares factory widebody ones? Are they hard plastic or soft plastic/rubber? All our Terranos that have widebody, use colour coded flares (bad), and are attached to inside of flare (badder), and made of hard plastic (worst).
  11. Thanks Precise1. About 6mm plate, 12mm on the sides. Middle on mine is a tiny bit dented as you can see, but I think it'd be virtually impossible to buckle. Rear mounting bracket as well as front bolts are another story - bit under-engineered IMO. I'm upgrading this - pretty easy - threading for bigger bolts in front, and might gusset the wimpy bracket. If you get one of these, make sure you get the rear bracket, and if it exists, the middle bracket. Mine did not come with a middle bracket, and have to make something (stacking packers on the cross member). It may actually be integral to a different cross member, as I have seen someone suggest on another forum. The middle support is bolted through the oval slots about halfway down, in the reinforced sides.
  12. This is what you need. Factory option. Clearly a Nissan Terrano one, but probably an option for the Pathfinder too. Covers everything including transfer case. very thick aluminium, with double thickness edges. They come up from time to time in NZ, but fairly rare. EDIT: how do I add photo?
  13. I use mine as a manual version of the porsche speed-activated spoiler. The downforce created is epic, and improves rear wheel traction at high speed. Stops tyres breaking loose at gearchanges, especially 4 to 5th. Additional bonus - being a diesel, the sucked back soot makes it look like I've got mean limo tints....
  14. Slartibartfast - there's a factory fog light switch available for Pathfinders/Terranos. It looks similar to the rear windscreen demister one, but with a spot/fog light symbol on it. Best part is all the factory wiring is already there for it to plug directly in to (well it is on mine....).
