  1. Well, Alkorahil you are right in a sense. But since us WD21 guys can swap in a 3.3 without changing ECU's it would work the other way as well, say put a 3.0 in a 96-99 Pathfinder or 00-04 Xterra or whatever years the 3.3 came in the WD22. You COULD run a 3.3 ECU in a WD21 as long as you took the entire engine harness and sensors from the donor vehicle. But probably not worth the effort.
  2. I've done two transmission "flushes" this way. And it works really well and is very fast! You'd be surprised how much volume is being pumped at idle. Pictures used to work, but the words should be explanation enough. If not, let me know I'll try to make a picture how-to. http://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8767
  3. Well I can see how this could happen. It makes sense, in my head anyway, that if the cylinder was flooded with fuel and fuel leaks past the rings, that fluid transfer could happen. As the fuel is leaking past the rings, that has opened a "passageway" for oil to get through as well. But I could be wrong.. ?
  4. Just for the sake of knowledge! Exhaust color decoder: Black = fuel Blue = oil White = water/condensation White+sweet smell = antifreeze 45F doesn't sound like it should have been too cold to make anything(injectors) stick open, but could be likely?
  5. that light flashing is akin to the CEL coming on. If you have the FSM for your Terrano you should be able to look up what the sequence means.
  6. Would the hood still open all the way if it were mounted to the cowl? I'll see if I can talk David in to welding me some brackets, hahahaha.
  7. Holy moly that review was pointless! How does it do on trips to soccer fields and the mall? That's what we need to know!!
  8. As long as the needle doesn't drop to its off position while running, it's fine.
  9. I wouldn't necessarily say there is a wealth of knowledge here regarding the Xterra, or the newer model Pathfinders. This forum is most knowledgeable of the original 1987-1995 Pathfinder, and the 1996-whatever year the R50 Pathfinder generation ended. This is an OFF road forum and the newer models generally stick to pavement. They're both essentially the same truck, the Pathfinder is a smidge bigger. If you switch back and forth between the wikipedia pictures really fast, they look like the same vehicle.
  10. My Impretza is constantly belching white smoke (when ambient temp is low'ish) and my assumption is also because it is cat-less. Those plugs look EXTREMELY old. Like 100,000 mile copper old. As far as oil pressure, it's probably fine as long as the needle is hanging out in the middle of the gauge travel. If the pressure runs low I'd just recommend changing the oil out for a 10w30. Washington is mild enough that 5w isn't really necessary.
  11. Mobil1 is an excellent oil! But it being 5w would attribute it to having the consistency of water. Oddly enough oil numbers are weird. the first number is cold viscosity, and the second number is hot viscosity. the W stands for Winter.
  12. Oil does break down over time, that's why a time span, 3 months or whatever?, is also stated on oil change intervals.
  13. If you had a blown head gasket you'd have geysers coming from the radiator even while cold. What did the oil smell like? I'm thinking it got saturated with fuel. And if you run Royal Purple in it, I recommend you stop.
  14. My posts are in jest, I didn't mean for you to get offended by it. I'm just messing around. Sorry.
  15. I've put at least 10,000 on my KM2's and love them, but I can't say anything about the KM's other than I have heard they are better off road than KM2's and louder on pavement.
  16. I'd like to think I have! The only reason I didn't win in the first time is because you added a revote option. haha
  17. There are cups that hold the bushings welded to the shock mount so the need of washers are not necessary on one side of each bushing.
  18. That one is in third or fourth place.
  19. Voted for one of the best two tone paint job's to ever appear on a WD21!
  20. Derek, you're funny! He goes through so many vehicles he probably doesn't remember and only drove on them 1000 miles.
  21. I bet no one has ever won TOTM twice in the same month! haha.
  22. Would have saved yourself a bunch of time and money if you had paid attention to the uninstall. The best lessons are the ones learned the hard way!
  23. HIDs in a standard halogen housing, and he gets pulled over? I can't understand why.. especially since they're only 55w, that's like... OEM wattage isnt it? And it just kills that that your reasoning on getting the 55w version is because your friend has been pulled over because of them.
  24. my previous 87 200sx would read full until I pulled out of the gas station. sounds like most of you just need new sending units. My truck does, I know that for sure. it'll show full when it's full, then drop down to 1/2 tank after about 30 miles, then the needle will drop all the way til it's resting on the bezel around 80'ish miles. Right now, if I've done my fuel calculations correctly, I should be able to travel another 20-25 miles and it's showing 1/4 tank.
  25. hints, tips, and tricks are not covered in the FSM. This info is readily available as long as you do some research.
