  1. Hey guys, i know i havent posted in a while. Thats because i got an xterra instead of a pathy. BUT i know how arb bull bars are hard to find, so i figured i would post this link for all its worth http://www.offroadtuff.com/nissanbullbars.php
  2. he put in a different engine 80k miles ago when the car was at 250k. meaning now its 330k
  3. I know they are around, I just can't find any to buy. I'm driving up to LA tomorrow to check one out. Speaking of 4x4 5 speeds, i saw a red 2 door with a body lift and off set wheels in the bankers hill area and i was wondering if it belonged to anyone.
  4. alright so its a no go. it has 82k on the engine and 332k on the body
  5. I found this other pathfinder in San Diego. The only problem is that he's got a burnt valve and a faulty muffler. hes asking 1K for it. is it worth it and yanking out the old valves and putting in new ones? what kind of work is involved? Linky to craigslist Why oh why are pathy's in a 4x4 5 speed configuration so hard to come by? -Zach
  6. Is it me, or are 4x4 5 speed pathy's really really rare in so cal
  7. it is an out of state vehicle. i was originally on the east coast (salt during winter... yikes) yeah i think im going to have to. but pathfinders, let alone 93-95 4x4 5 speeds are rare out here in san diego. southern california but im looking around in LA and orange and what not. i have run a carfax. the odo says 134k or something like that, but we estimate its around 170k or 180k due to the disconnected odo during the second owner. they are indeed rare up here. Only about 6 or so on craigslist at any one time, 1 or two in the configuration im looking for if im lucky. Im starting to push me search north and east so ill see what i can get.
  8. Hey, so im still hunting in a sea of very few pathfinders. Basically, im fixed on a 93, 94 or 95 pathfinder 4x4 5 speed. now, i would prefer an SE because of how the stock wheels are 31x10.5 ready but thats beside the for right now. what i am really asking is what do you guys think, and how much should i offer? Its a 1995 XE 4x4 5speed Now, after a quick inspection, i found some rust under the car (thats all i found and i'll go back an check it more thoroughly.) The paint needs refreshing (white?), it needs new tires (i want 31's anyways) and possibly new shocks (I want to put on a small lift with better shocks). I was going to throw on a new timing belt and new brake pads for good measure. The exhaust manifold is most likely cracked (it has that spitting sound when you rev the engine) but thats not i big deal i want thorley headers. the interior is also in great condition, hes kept it well. So that leaves the rust and the title. I dont know how much rust there is that i cant see or what kind of structure the rust is effecting. There is also a title issue... with the second owner, the odometer was reported as disconnected several times but the current owner has had no problem. Other than these problems, it seems like a great project car for me especially if i can get it cheap. so what do you guys think? Here are some photos:
  9. right, so i am kinda understanding whats going on, kind of not. ill figure it out when i get my hands on it then things should make sense.
  10. im having a hard time find a "kit" ive searched through everything on their site.
  11. I've been looking around for a good 4x4 manual pathfinder between 1993 and 1995. I've found one close by is excellent condition. He just had lots work done like new belts/hoses/trans/brake pads/ blah blah. its a good price too with decent miles. the problem is, it doesnt have that spare tire gate on the back thats so convenient for storing oversized spare tires and mounting things like cb radio antennas . where do i get one and how would i go about installing the gate? thanks zach
  12. ive been looking at "off road" performance seats and they are basically bucket seats with super squishy foam and/or springs. also, ive seen a compact harness bar in an Evo X and it allowed the rear seat to still be habitable, probably not the safest, but thats why you have 5 point belts back there too? seems like its turning into a worse situation. im sure it could be done in a compact way though. hmmm, we'll see. edit: and i believe that both the Evo and STI's pack recaro seats.
  13. Hey, im about to buy a 93, 94 or 95 pathfinder this weekend or next. Im not so keen on the whole single driver airbag situation so iv'e been looking into other safety gear. I have always been a fan of racing harnesses and dont mind (sometimes prefer) driving with them. the problem is, how would i go about dropping in something like sparco or recaro seats and 6 or 5 point seat belts?
  14. Hey, I'm Zach, i'm 17 and just getting into the whole car scene. I plan on getting a 93-95 pathfinder locally as a first car. I have always been a fan of off-roading but never had the tools. My dad owned a 92 XE until 2002 and thats when we sold it for an acura mdx... nice car, but not good for what i want to get into. Once i get my pathfinder i will be upgrading it. I am an upgrade junky and have already picked out a stillen/K&N high flow intake kit. the problem is, parts are hard to find, and thats where you guys come in . anyway, Im so glad that theres a forum dedicated SOLELY to what i want to do, it makes life easier. But, a little bit more about myself, I love working on cars and motorcycles. I was a gear head from birth and love nothing more. my friend is getting into off roading with an 02 or similar frontier so anyone in san diego, we'd love to start organizing trips are tagging along in pre arranged ones. well, thats about it, too much talking. thanks zach
