  1. Do it! Not only will it help you when you do run into water, but its like putting a cold air intake on.
  2. I am using a Spectre inline air filter that I bought from JEGS, its the silver tube in that picture above.
  3. So I put my snorkel on over the weekend and now have the stock air box with a brand new K&N air filter, I think I paid like $40 for the filter and have the stock airbox to go with it all for $40 + S&H; let me know if anyone is interested.
  4. I have so many projects right now I have been neglecting the pathfinder, but I finally worked on it over the weekend and finished it up yesterday and got the snorkel on. It took a few different parts to make it compatible but in the end it is awesome! I got all the parts (couplers, adapter plate, RTV, hose clamps) from Advance Auto Parts for about $40, and the air filter from JEGS for about $80 with shipping, and the 4" circular bore, PVC, pipe hangers, and spray paint from Home Depot; for all of it it was about $140. It wasn't that hard putting the intake together after having to custom modify the MAF sensor to hook up to the adapter plate with RTV between the two, the hardest part was boring the 4" hole through the fender/unibody. The fender was easy but when it came to the unibody I had to use a grinder on the inside and just cut a huge square and pound the sharp surfaces down with a hammer. Then after final fitment I started gluing the PVC together except where it connects to the air filter I put some screws through it and sealed it with RTV; to make the snorkel removeable if ever needed. Then painted it and put it all back together, overall it came out great and sounds awesome! I have a couple more things to fix like new wheel bearings, and a new CV axle and then take it out this weekend to test it out. My next big mod is probably going to be Hurculining it from the windows down and the floors inside.

  6. Unless you do some serious offroading you do not need to weld the blocks, in my case I had to... heres a old topic on it http://npora.ipbhost...=1 I had a bad death wobble and it was from the blocks constantly loosening after wheeling and a lower control arm bushing so I ended up just weldig them. It is the same problem 01silverpathy had
  7. Buy a set of front struts and buy a set of FRONT AC 2" lift coils for the 6" of lift in the front and the rear coils either the jeep coils or get a custom set made from coilsprings.com; there are many threads in here on the rear spring subject just search for them. That is assuming you got the 4" SFD with all the accesories... and a set of shocks, there are quite a few threads in here on what to choose in that area also.

  9. Jeolous... I just moved down here to TX and started my new job, just bought a 08 Charger, and bout to get a house; so my funds are tied up for the next couple months; but it is still in the back of my mind. Let me know what the total price comes out to be, I would do the install myself and a good write up on how you did it would be a good tool to use when I get to mine.
  10. what did you do with the two vacuum lines that go into the intake? Last time I tried to put a cold air intake on mine it wouldn't work because those lines.....?
  11. So i just went and bough everything today, unfortunately no one carries that spectre filter so i ordered it off ebay for $80 and got the PVC, elbows, hose clamps, hangers, and everything else for $90... So I am just waiting for the air filter to show up and put it all together.
  12. What exactly did you use to make that MAF sensor adapter and how it bolts up right after it? Is that a metal reducer where it goes from the MAF to outside the fender? What pieces did you have to buy and how did it all go together? Could you write up a description of what you put into it/where you got all the parts??
  13. I actually didn't know it was that deep until I got into it, and there was no turning back; but it was a hell of a lot fun!
  14. Awsome mod, you just gave me some ideas that will go into effect in the next couple weeks; I definitely need a snorkel too....
  15. unfortunately its gone... but you could just build a bumper! A meetup would be good, I have to do some maintenance to my pathy right now before it will see the trails though. New wheel bearing, cv axle, new gear oils, brake pads.... But that should be done by the end of next weekend. So where would we want to meet up?
  16. Sounds like the relay or motor that switches it isn't engaging all the way sometimes and gets stuck, unfortunitely I think you might have to pull the case and look inside it to better figure out what the problem is. When is the last time you put new gear oil in it, maybe try flushing it first....
  17. Oh and forgot to post this video of right after we got stuck. You can see how sunk it got just trying to back up and turn around. Enjoy the language lol
  18. So it rained all weekend and we decided to go out today on Christmas and have some fun.... And the winching: Please excuse the excessive swear words lol
