  1. Ive always thought about doing something like this...
  2. I found these a long time ago but maybe they will give you some ideas.
  3. I'm telling you, its the distributor...... replace it and when you time it advance it about a degree or two and it gives you a little more pep.... or it could be a vacuum leak, I remember when I once tried to put a cold air intake on before I put my snorkel on I disconnected the vacuum lines and hooked them up to the new intake and it ran like dogsh*# but when I put them back together stock it was fine. Look for a crack or hole in your lines off the air box. But most likely its the distributor.... It's not that hard to change, just keep your wires hooked up to the old cap until you get it in and swap them over.
  4. I have the 2" AC springs topped with a 4" SFD and I have never messed with my camber bolts, in fact the stock ones are still in there. I just got a alignment and it was good to go, and I wheel the Sh*# out of my pathy. Honestly the only thing you need from AC is the 2" front springs and new struts; then buy the 4" SFD and install it. After I bought the 2" I had to go bigger, and after I went bigger the only leftovers from my original AC 2" lift are the front springs and struts.
  5. Combine the 2, do a 4" SFD with 2" lift springs :-)
  6. Lost my job and just got a new one, so I've been working and saving mainly and I also had a death in the family... Haven't had much time to work on the pathy lately because i have been working on all my other vehicles/toys and it needs to be gone through completely. I think it needs a distributor and/or possibly a timing belt, the tranny needs to be rebuilt or flushed pretty good, new gear oil in the diffs and TC, new plugs, and a O2 sensor. So it's going in the shop for a little while in the new house and I'm slowly fixing it with time. It's just been sitting on my trailer in the driveway for awhile.
  7. distributor.... I had the same problem awhile back and it turned out that I had to put a new distributor in and voila it was fixed....
  8. The remote start has a different remote than factory, my factory remote doesn't even work anymore. I don't have a key for the doors, I lost it in the woods a year or so back. I get in and can turn the engine over.... but it won't start because I am having starting issues I think are from the distributor cap. But still it turns over and then when I let off the alarm is still going. Lights flashing/horn honking. I pulled the relay under the hood labeled alarm and it still was going off..... It's not even in kill mode because the engine turns over with the key. This all happened after I had to break into it....
  9. Sounds like a strut problem to me, or even a sway bar end link. Easy fix....
  10. I used a wedge and a long puller bar to unlock it and opened it withthe handle, then the alarm went off and would not stop going off. I put the key in and turned it forward/tried to start it and it still is going off. I had to unhook the battery and left it un hooked for a day and hokoed it back up and it was still going off. When this happened last time if I hit unlock on the remote it would of turned it off. I don't know how I will even be able to program another remote if it keeps doing this.
  11. Ok, so I have been having problems with my engine starting and I lost the remote to my alarm/remote start I have on my pathfinder. I accidently locked the doors and had to break in and the alarm went off, I tried turning the key forward to start it but the alarm just keeps going off and my lights are flashing. I don't know how to turn this off, and if I get the new remote I have to program it with the ignition.... Any ideas? This is the facotry alarm, I just put a remote start in and it uses that control.
  12. no odor.... The engine just spins and it might fire up for a second or two.
  13. So after my last weekend of playing in the mud, my engine has decided to not start, the starter turns over and it doesn't even act like it wants to start; and it might kick over but it shakes when running and if I give it gas it dies.... I am thinking maybe I got it wet under the distributor cap? Last time it had this problem I thought it was the fuel pump, put a new one in and it wasn't the problem, then I put a new distributor in in and it was fixed.... Could the distributor go out in it again? I am hoping its not a timing problem... Any ideas?
  14. It won't hurt anything, the water will get thrown out with cranking the engine, worry more about getting it into your intake....
  15. Use the search function... but here it is http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/topic/31188-anyone-changed-out-bushings-in-their-4-links/page__hl__bushings
  16. Yea it is definitely different terrain than I am used to but I have been having fun in it. I will say I miss the rocks NH had after all it was the granite state. Dallas is about 4 hours away from this park, it would be South East from you in Splendora TX.
  17. I finally got the pathy put all back together and went to a place called creekside offroad park here in TX, here are some of the pics/videos I took. I had a blast and the snorkel is definitely better than the stock air box. I did get stuck a few times and had to pull cable but I had a blast until I went into the last pit. I got 3/4 the way through it and my engine died and would only crank. I got it to fire up a couple times and the alternator charged the battery enough to use my winch to get out. Then I got towed out with a side by side and used the winch to pull it on the trailer. I had this exact problem awhile back and it was my distributor, I am guessing I might of got my cap wet and sheared the pin on the distributor. Either way I will have a look at it this week and hopefully back on the trail by the weekend.
  18. I am definitely not afraid of cutting or using a BFH to make modifications... My pathfinder is more of a toy these days than a DD. I have hammered a little hear and there mainly around the lower front fenders near the doors and got my grinder with cut off wheel out a few times.
  19. I agree plus it looks good! I sunk my pathy in the back yard the other day and it looked good having the snorkel! lol
  20. Finally put back together, I say do it; its not that hard, just takes a little thinking.
