  1. I have noticed lately that when I hard turn my wheels all the way to the left or right I hear a squeeky noise coming from the struts maybe; mostly the drivers side. Any idea on what this is? It isn't effecting my drivng at all just more of a annoyance...
  2. Ok, so I don't think you are talking about a R50 pathy correct? R50 pathy's have struts in the front and a 4link in the rear.... so in order to do a SFD you require the SFD brackets and strut spacers in order to lift it beyond just a suspension lift and not having to do a SAS....
  3. So here I am doing the 4" SFD to my pathy but I am curious about the SAS and how hard it is and what it entails.... Can anyone help me out and anyone have pictures of a R50 with a SAS? What is the down time and total project time to do one of these... bumps in the road?
  4. They are gonna give you too much lift, as stated before I would not go with Jeep springs unless you do a SFD (subframe drop) and manufacture all the brackets and install them with grade 8 nuts and bolts.... and then you are only replacing the rear springs with the jeep springs and putting in strut spacers to account for the front lift. You can only get a 2" suspension lift to put on the R50; however I got 4.5" of lift out of mine so you might want to look into that on 4x4parts.com.... As for the springs.... save them for when you want to go bigger and do a SFD..... but again you are gonna have to modify your spring perches to fit those springs.
  5. The Jeep Grand Cherokee is the big brother to the XJ and therefor has stiffer springs; through some research unless you are going to do a SFD it is not recommended to use their springs because of the stiffness and they are over stock specifications in length and diameter... If you are just looking to stiffen up the rear go with the Air Lift 1000 or you could do a suspencion lift from 4x4parts.com or even order some springs from coilsprings.com; however if you go to the 4x4parts ite they should just sell some stiffer springs made to stock specifications. The stock springs in the R50 are rated at 115lbs get some at 160lbs and it should eliminate the sag.
  6. Go with Jeep XJ springs, but you are going to have to modify your spring perches to fit the diameter of the springs as our is 4.9" and I think Jeeps are 5.5 or something liek that.....
  7. That means they are being coiled or wound up.... apparently they coil their springs by hand and because this is a custom order...
  8. Just got word today that my order has been shipped; cant wait to get them and get this lift installed. It was like $270 total
  9. Does anyone have any pictures of where is the link to that thread, I am not that familiar with the r50 diffs..... Tyler are your diffs locked, and they come already to install? What about some of those 4-links I saw you that you made; how much for a set of those? Could you send me a PM with some pricing? Do you have anymore pointers on re-stacking the discs? How long of a project is this?
  10. So I have been looking into findong some information about the differentials and the gearing and have not been able to find much information.... Does anyone know the gearing these pathfinders come with; I have a 1999.5 LE I believe with 4.636 gears? Is there a locker or are we stuck with these limited slips? Any help would be appreciated. What about the tranfer case, is there any upgrades?

  12. Thats good, glad you got everything fiugured out; I actually called in this morning to coil springs and my order is still being made. For reference my order number is 1872; in case anyone else wanted to get the same springs. Glad to hear you got everyhting straigtened out.
  13. No problem I can take those for you, when I put mine on I used the tow hooks and then had brakets half way up the guard that went through my lower grill and bolted to a bolt sticking out.
  14. I cut my inner fenders out too, have had them cut for about 2 months now and have had no problem with them; I even cut the one where my washer fluid was because I put 31's on before I got the lift and had to do some major trimming, and now have no problem with rubbing or stuffing the tire....
  15. Don't know the part numper but the stock spring is 4.9" in diameter to fit in the stock spring perches and it is rated at 115lbs.... hope that helps. If you are getting springs for the 4" SFD you should be ble to mention my name (Terry Henry of NH) and they should be able to look up my order and get yours to the same specs as mine. They are making mine as we speak.
  16. Just checked them, nothing from you though.... whats up?
  17. Thanks, but that is actually my buddies 73 land cruiser with a 350 vortech, he broke his rock box in the woods.
  18. Seems pretty reasonable.... I might have to give it a shot as well..... any how to guides? the bushings are made for a frontier though.......
  19. Well I was planning on putting a steel bumper on the front of mine which would help level out the front. SFD's aren't cheap unless you find a good deal which are hard to come by; I am having a local machineing comapany who specializes in 4x4 offroad parts build my kit at a relativly good price...... But it is possible, I would like to know what comes of this front diff drop..... it sounds interesting...... post some pics when you are done with it. I might be interested.
  20. I had this same problem, it turned out to be my sway bar end links, just replaced them with MOOG links from advanced auto parts and it went away..... word of advice put the new links on with air tools, a ratchet and socket wont do it
  21. I dont believe it is to narrow for the subframe I just made it wider for the extra support and strength...... rectangular tubing is pretty easy to make; your fab guy should be able to make you some unless he has some already laying around.....
  22. I believe it is comparable because the stock spring rate is 115lbs.......
  23. I am actually using 2.5"x4" for the front which I have to get custom made because they only make 2"x4" and 3"x4" and im using the 3"x4" for the rear of my SFD, where it will take on more of the stress; it shouldn't effect anything except i recomend using the 3"x4" for the rear but that is just me, everyone is different. look at the PM i sent you.....
