  1. I'm sorry to hear about your frame. My repair seems to be working pretty good. I have finally been able to drive this thing with some peace of mind. It figures, I went to the junkyard this weekend. There were 9 Pathfinders and NONE had frame rot.
  2. Thanks for the quick replies! I think I'll pick up a set of 6.5" PPIs for the front and get rid of the 6X9 boxes in the back in lieu of a sub.
  3. I hate to post a thread regarding what should be an easy question. But... All of my searching, including Crutchfield, states that the 91 has 4X6 speakers up front but they appear to be round to me(either 4" or 5.25"). Am I missing something? Can a pair of 6.5s be installed in the doors without to much modification? Thanks in advance!
  4. I'm sure they could be done pretty cheaply. Since my friend has the waterjet, he is just looking for projects that he can program in and then just hit "print" when someone places an order. Maybe $50 each. I guess several templates could be made for the front, back, top and bottom and someone could just order the one(s) they need. Are there any other parts that you guys need that are not readily available that are similar to this?
  5. Thats true, and as I recall there were two auto bailouts. The first being initiated by Bush but bad behavior by one person doesn't excuse bad behavior by another and this thread is about Obama. Also, I have read my last post a few times and I would like for you to tell me what part of my "tirade" makes you believe that I think one race is superior to the other? He would if he thought he could get away with it. Remember, he supported the Washington DC gun ban until it was overturned. AND THEN... he supported the reversal. Was he confused as to which was unconstitutional? Of course not! His opinion is obviously based on political expediency. I mean, he WAS a constitutional law professor.
  6. I agree that what appears to be a recovery is just a recession running its course but the problem is that many economists believe that we will have a double dip recession followed by massive inflation due to the unrealistic spending in Washington. It really does appear that Obama believes that you can eat your way out of obesity. People that live in reality know better than this and thats why the tide is turning on Obama. Common sense will always trump ideology. Obama has been given a chance by the American people and it has become painfully obvious that, like other politicians, his agenda is the only thing that matters. Auto Bailout = FAIL, Bank Bailout = FAIL, stimulus = FAIL, omnibus = FAIL, budget = FAIL, cashforclunkers = FAIL, healthcare = FAIL, it just goes on and on. He would NEVER had been elected without white voters and to think that as many people voted against him for racial reasons that voted for him because he is BLACK is just whistling past the graveyard. I gaurantee that the number of black voters in 2012 will be a far cry from 2008 because many black voters were voting PURELY on their sense of history and that history has been made. They got what they wanted. Our first black president. Did it really matter to them if we got a GOOD president? NOPE! And that makes them irrelevant, not the other way around. I thought this was going to be good for race relations in this country but now I find out that not supporting Obamas radical policies makes one a "racist" When you label someone a racist , there resistance to policy becomes irrelevent because you now have disdain for their opinion whether they are racist or NOT. So, if you find yourself falling for this political ploy from the left, just pull the wool from your eyes... Were so racist that we just elected a black man. Now thats racist. Voting against Obama in 2012 will also be considered racism(if your white) but if thats what it takes to get rid of him, then for the first time in history being a racist will be a good thing. Theres a thought and at least we agree that the country is, in fact, going to hell.
  7. Sorry about that, I was reorganizing my Photobucket. Fixed!
  8. I dont suppose you have heard a JBL MKII W12GTI? ________________________________________________________________________________________ Dont be fooled by people making blanket statements such as this regarding certain audio manufacturers. There are just no cookie cutter answers when it comes to mobile audio. Keep in mind that manufacturers use different build houses over time so something that was awsome last year may suck this year because the build house changed. Also, the companies that you guys are discussing are all meant to appeal to the Mass market but there is an entirely different level of mobile audio which caters to the more well informed do it yourselfer. Such as... Image Dynamics PPI Zed Seas Dayton Elemental Designs Zuki Stereo Integrity US Acoustics Cadence Just to name a few!
  9. I think it would require much less conversation to discuss the promises he has kept. I'll Start ... Thanks for listening, John
  10. Harvey, I am going to give you the name of a forum where all of your questions regarding car stereos can be answered. Just be warned, this forum is very addictive and you wont believe how much there actually is to know about car stereos. This is one of my very favorite forums to date... www.diymobileaudio.com Thats the only site you will need to have the best sounding Pathfinder in the UK.
  11. I can vouch for just hammering a 19mm over the locknut and using a cheater bar. Worked good for me!
  12. I forgot to answer this. Although I saw the rust at the lower corners of the rear doors, my eyes never set foot on the frame rail. It would seem impossible to miss(and will be in the future) but keep in mind, I bought this thing 16 minutes after it was posted on CraigsList during my lunch break without doing even 5 seconds of research. I didnt even realize it was a 4X4. Obviously its worked out pretty good because I had a friend to help fix it. Without him, $1000 would not have been a great deal.
  13. So far, this is exactly the kind of feedback that I was looking for. When I sent the link to this thread to my friend with the waterjet, he also thought that the $ should be less than I had stated so that shouldn't be a problem. I will get him to join the site so that he can follow this thread and answer any questions you may have. Can I have the forum email me every time a thread I have started receives a response? We DID NOT do the top or the bottom of the frame rail except in one small place on the passenger side. I was wondering if I should drill a few holes in the new pieces in order to be able to clean it out. Do most of you agree that this should be done? My friends name with the WaterJet is Arthur so hopefully he will start chiming in soon.
  14. Greetings NPORA, My name is John Masters. I am new to the Nissan Pathfinder and the NPORA forum. I recently purchased a 1992 XE off CraigsList as somewhat of an impulse purchase for $1000. 205,000 miles, Timing Belt changed at 199,000, nice interior, runs good, passed emissions, new tires. etc... Well, I wish I had known then what I know now regarding the notorious frame rot found above the rear wheels on these vehicles. Because mine has it... I am lucky enough to have a friend who owns a performance shop in town so we got busy figuring out how to get this fixed up so I can get some use out of the vehicle without worrying about it breaking in half. In this thread I am displaying pictures of the Drivers side repair. The passenger side was worse. You can see all of the pictures by following the link at the end of this thread. We made a template... Got busy with the Plasma Cutter... Then some welding and filling in... And some undercoating... Keep in mind, we did this in one afternoon without removing the gas tank or any suspension parts or jacking up the body so the repair is only on one side of the frame. SO, I have two questions for you guys... Firstly, do you think that this is a satisfactory repair? IF SO... Secondly, If we could have this type of "repair plate" reproduced on our WaterJet machine, how many of you guys(& girls)would be interested at around $80 - $100 per side? Of course, you get to handle the welding. And, are there any other similar parts that pathfinder owners find themselves needing but not finding that could be made on a WaterJet? You will find all pictures relating to this repair here... Visit My Website Thanks! John Masters
