  1. Cool... I'll check it out... Thanks Simon
  2. This may sound silly... But HOW do you unplug the tweeters???? Does anyone by chance have a few pics they can load... Thanks....
  3. I wish I would have read this before I got started... If you want to save yourself a huge headache I would take Xmas's advice... Get ones that fit!!! I just bought 4- 5x7 Alpines and they did not fit anywhere with out some of the most ridiculous rigging I have ever had to do for anything! It was seriously just stupid how much cutting, bending, grinding, removing and pounding I had to do to get these damn things in! But at the end of day... It sounds great... On a separate note... Does anyone know if when they put in a after market stereo do they disconnect the factory tweeters? It said on the box for my speakers that I should disconnect them but it does'nt even sound like they are working... So thats what I'm thinking Anyone know if thats the case?
  4. To open my hood I have to pull the latch and reach over my windshield and give the hood a little pound with my hand and then it pops... Have not really givin it any thought or time as to why, but it works... Try that...
  5. Why not just a steering wheel cover? 20 bucks.
  6. All of this is when I am at a complete stop... Like UncPath I also stop even to shift into 4H... I agree with what you said... Maybe I should have mentioned this but my truck is an automatic,,, the more I think about it I don't think it made any grinding before I had the tranny rebuilt just recently... could they have f'd something up while doing the rebuild..(88 you helped me out with the other thread on the issue with my tranny screaming and slipping gears)... could that be part of the issue? And on that note the tranny shop is going to put in a new control module in my tranny... he thinks theres a crack in the one I have now and its causing a loss of pressure and the gears are'nt locking properly as a result... Thanks
  7. So when I pull my tcase from 2H to 4H... No problems, 4H to N... No problems but when I go from N to 4L... It grinds and when I go back to N from 4L... It grinds.. but from N to 4H no problems but from 4H back to 2H.., It grinds.... Did you get that? Any ideas what this might be... I do know to put the tranny into N for the shift from 4H to 4L... Also I did switch the shifter to a HB one after my body lift... could this be the problem... was it not put back on correctly??... I honestly don't know if this was happening before this swap... I don't think it was... but I did'nt really drive the truck before I did all this work... Thanks
  8. I know who your talking about... I just bought a sunroof cover from him and all though it was'nt the fastest ship ever there has been so signs of shady activity, or a threat of him not holding up his side of the deal... Like others said... sometimes people get busy... I'm sure you'll get your decals... Good Luck Also just for a little peace of mind... I bought mine from him on ebay and his rating is 100% positive feedback...
  9. This is what I did... works fine...
  10. Ditto... to what Simon said... I've lived this nightmare twice with auto trannys. and have learned quite a bit about it... Definately get a external trans cooler... if not before during the swap or the rebuild... That quote is a safe bet... both of my rebuilds costed around 2000 grand...each on that is...
  11. If its an automatic transmission... Get a external trans cooler... by pass the stock cooler.
  12. I'm guessing by flywheel he meant drive plate...
  13. Well, I think its obvious that I know nothing about auto trannys... I did'nt think there was a flywheel anywhere in one but I really don't know crap about what goes inside these things.... I guess this will be my schooling on it.... However none of what happened on Sunday has happened since... Maybe it is just a fluke... But I guess the good news is that is under warranty and they were the last ones in there.... I knew I should've taken Auto shop in High School... Now I'm saying WOW.... Thanks 88
