  1. Should of went with my cousin! Ida had a better time! I wonder how many idiots will go out an not heed the warnings?
  2. Please, for the love of Pete, take some pictures and share them. This years winter here is about as lame as my senior prom date.
  3. I would ask the dealer how they came up with that quote. Its just too high. If they really want your business, they will be happy to show you the time breakdown(but i already showed you that). Any other dealers in your area?
  4. Times from AllData... Rear main seal R&R with automatic transmission- 9.8hrs(I would normally quote 10hr). Factory price for seal- $40 This is pulling the transmission and replacing the seal. If there hourly rate is $100 x 10hrs + cost of seal, does not add up to almost $2000. A quote around $1000 is about right. I would love to see your dealer quote. Maybe add time for rust if thats the case, but not another 10 hours. A coworker of mine who just moved last year from Tennesse said the Toyota shop he worked in was $112 a hour. Im sure the nissan dealer is in the same area for hourly rate. Remember, Nissan gives a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty on all repairs(in case they botch it up).
  5. Here is my writeup on how to bypass the radiator... http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/topic/37931-r51-owners-how-to-save-your-transmission/ Im not really sure why nissan decided to run the oil through the trans then through a seperate cooler. I can only assume for warming up the transmission fluid faster to soften shifts. I have done this bypass on several rigs now with no issues. If it wasnt stated, the radiators develop a small crack in the lower tank which is where the transmission fluid passes through. The pressure of the cooling system causes coolant to get into the transmission fluid system and will destroy the clutches in the transmission. This happened to me personally when I was going to work one day in my buddies Frontier. It failed and we were stuck on the side of the road. Nissan had not extened the warranty yet and he was basicly screwed(even though he worked at the Infiniti dealer with me and nissan didnt care!). Somehow they ok'd replacing his transmission, but not the radiator. They basicly made him buy a facotry radiator then they would put the transmission in. About 6 months later the warranty extension came out and he got refunded by Nissan.
  6. Finished up the show tonight. Again, the overall production of this and the last few episodes where pretty shoty IMHO. We all pretty much knew who one, so it was kind of anticlimactic. But, I would like to see the show continue, maybe somewhere else?
  7. ExpeditionOverland is some good stuff. Quite a bit different than the Alaska off readers, but good none the less. Watching the War Wagon throw mud his last week was pretty cool.
  8. https://www.google.com/maps/search/belfair,+wa/data=!4m2!2m1!4b1 Belfair is not close to the border unfortunately.
  9. I like the 2wd idea. I Lockrite in the rear, some decent tires and maybe a winch up front would be a decent tow rig and get you to most places fairly easy. If you just need a 4wd for those more exciting adventures, I would also recommend buying another rig.
  10. Thanks Red! Ok, So it looks like the 8th it is! Again, if anyone has a questions, please feel free to ask.
  11. Dont laught at me! I know where you live!
  12. Ah crap! Ok, that's not going to work! I didn't even think of that. The day was suggested by one of the guys from my work. Ok, hold on, I will figure a new date! But, if my team(I won't say thier name due to superstition) doesn't get there, I might rather wheel! Maybe I will move it out a week. STAY TUNED!
  13. Ok, its time for some winter wheeling. So, I have some younger guys at my work whoare dieing to go out on a trial ride. I told them about Tahuya ad they are down. My friend in his Xterra(who just got some new BFG A/T KO2's) a my bro-in-law(Land Rover) is also down.I figured I would toss it out to everyone here if anyone would like to go. I've been to Tahuya about 6 times now and for the most part, its pretty easy. It is winter, so expect to get wet. Tahuya has several watery places, but nothing that will flood your rig out(except for Mud Lake). Stock rigs can do this trail run, with little modifications. We will be meeting at the Safeway in Belfair at 9:30 and should be on the trail arond 10. Be sure to bring food and water! Its nice to have a CB for communication, but not necessary. Dont forget your cameras! Let me know if your interested if you have any other questions.
  14. Happy Birthday all!!!! So, if B is as old as dirt, what is K?
  15. Ain't that the truth! Gonna be in the mid 50's this week, gettin poured on in the meantime.

  17. http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Pathfinder/2008_Pathfinder/ec.pdf Page 736(if it doesn't take you there). Pages 46, 47 and 48 give a picture of the system components. Anyway, that will give you a breakdown of how to check the system. I was just thinking, I wonder if you had the spark plugs replaced recently? The reason I ask is that you have to remove some of the evap components onthe upper intake to gain access to the spark plugs. As far as the hoses go, the run from your engine, under your vehicle back to the evap canister and filler tube. If there are no obvious hose issues, there may be a valve stuck (vent contol valve) by forgien debris(ice, mud, insects, ect). There is a possibility your ecm could also need to be reprogrammed(logic parameters habve have been changed at some point).
  18. And yet still shops in the kid section!!! Happy Birthday guys!
  19. I would recommend a cap from the dealer. I have chased too many evap problems due to faulty aftermarket caps.
  20. Happy new year everyone! Anyone else notice the smell of the new year kinda smells like a new Poho? Cheetoe covered beanbags for everyone!
  21. http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/topic/37931-r51-owners-how-to-save-your-transmission/ Welcome!
  22. The p0455 code is for a large evap leak, usually tht means the gas cap is loose, or put on wrong. I have seen lots of people get the little strap that holds it to the body, under it and create a leak. If you dont find anything there, check for any hoses disconnected in the engine bay, as well as under the body. Cracks can sometimes form on the rubber hoses and create a leak as well. If you cant see anything and the light wont go out after driving serval "drive cycles" then a shop/dealer should be able to close th system and hook up a smoke machine to find the leak.
  23. The first gen 4Runner has ifs. There was a clear shot of it. I tried to post yesterday saying it's amazing none of them seem to wear seatbelts, and look what happened! I'm amazed that they aren't all running full lockers, cages and beadlocks. The last episode was shot a bit sloppy IMO. When super jeep got stuck the first time, they show them in water, then not in water, then in water, ect. I dont think they need to ramp up the drama to keep viewers entertained. The flying mud was fun enough to watch!
