  1. I hate it when people ask me what year my 4 runner is ! but I have also been asked(and maybe this should be added), "Thats a Nissan? I didnt know Nissan made 4x4's!" Somedays you just want to smack some people.
  2. Hey Datsunman, isnt the Cedric in the Skyline(not GT-R) family? All of those old datsuns are the coolest! I damn near wrecked my pathy while staring at a restored 2000 roadster the other day. Anyway, the only other car we got is the fiances 2004 Honda Civic 4dr. Ive already got her talked into buying a newer G35 hopefully next year!

    Beer

Micro brews are the best! Yeah, I will drink the bud light when needed, but during the summer try and pick up some Alaskan Summer Ale. And, just tried some Henry Wienharts summer wheat. It has a little aftertaste of orange and is really refreshing .
  4. Yeah, the BG products are pretty good. We use them at my work. They have a Air Intake System Cleaner that does a awsome job of cleaning the intake and valves of built-up carbon. And using the 87 octane gas, I tend to get a little worse mileage. I usually put 89 octane in and I use nothing but Chevron fuels if I can help it.
  5. Ok, Im jelous!(damn 510 envy) :cool2: . Welcome to the board. I wish we had the diesel option here! Keep us posted on all you do to your pathy!
  6. Have you tried to add the extra gound to the air flow meter. I have seen it on here on how to do it. It can make a pretty big difference. Search and see what you find and let us know.

    alarm

Lets see if I remember this correctly. First- put key in ignition, do not turn on. 2nd- Find control unit under drivers seat and hole in top. There may be a sticker in the way, just push through and hold the button down. 3rd- When the audible beep(strange mulit-toned beep that is) is heard, push the big button on your key fob(s). 4th- Then turn your key all the way on, then off, then check the operation of the fob(s). The switch on the center console can be left on or off I believe, but I usually just switch it to on. Try it and see if it works.
  8. that is the correct tsb. If thats your problem, get er done!
  9. I check clutchs by putting it in 5th gear and try to take off. You may need to rev it up a little bit to take off. A good clutch will stall on take off, a bad clutch will slip and you will take off really slow. Try it and see what happens.
  10. Anyone notice the rear arm rests that are on the side of the rear seat. Its nice to have something to put your arm on insead of the grab handle on the door. The little things are what make these vehicles so nice and "Utility"! Oh yeah, the cupholder in the center console doesnt bother me. At least they are two different sizes. Just have to remember to not put anything important in there in case of a spill, oh well!
  11. There is a tsb to replace the rear o2 sensors and reprogram the ECM if your ecm part number is affected. Your factory 8 year, 80,000 mile ecm warranty might cover this. The number is NTB03-011. Its pretty common repair, and hey, it might be free! Your ecm has a part number that is printed on every printout from the scan tool at the dealer. Find out what yours is and look up the tsb.
  12. First what I would do is install the gauge and turn the key on. See how high gauge goes and write it down. Then, turn the key off and let it sit. See how fast it looses pressure. If it drops quickly from about 45psi to almost no pressure, you probably have a fuel pump bleeing back into the tank. If it does hold pressure, then start your engine. At idle, your fuel pressure should be 34psi with the pressure regulator vacuum line attached and 43psi with the vacuum line disconnected. The last thing you can do is turn on the key and bulid pressure, pinch both fuel feed and return lines and see if you loose pressure. If you do loose pressure you may have a injector sticking open or a regulator not holding pressure. Hope this helps.
  13. I am pretty sure the spark plugs are NGK V-power plugs. they are good plugs, nothing really gimmicky about them. The notch in them is noremal. They are not a Splitfire plug, I know that.
  14. Get a cheap fuel pressure gauge and check your fuel pressure when cranking, then after, while it sits. Maybe a fuel pump issue, maybe a pressure regulator issue.
  15. Maybe Nissan should retro a Patrol for the U.S.! Wouldnt that be nice!
  16. I just had to repack my left wheel bearings for squealing once and while. I had just replaced the belts and heard the noise a few days later. I tightened the belts but the noise would still happen. I noticed it would make the noise when I turned left more than right. While it was doing it after a left turn, I just shut the engine off and the noised continued. Stuck my head out the window and heard it from the left front. I found the outer bearing didnt have suffecient grease. I clean and inspected them. They were ok, so I repacked them probably with more grease than what is needed and the noise was gone!
  17. I did the Warn Swap about 2 months ago. You better get some bolts to replace the studs they give you just in case. Some guys never had a problem with the studs, but some have. I broke two just trying to torque them. Remember, you have to relocate the snap ring to the outer position. Your going to like the warns!
  18. You can check ebay or check your local dealer in the Nismo catalog, Ive seen them there.
  19. Maybe Katskin seat covers? I Know you can get a wide variety of colors and materials. You can also get something ebossed into them as well as different colored piping. Ive heard they are pretty nice, but never seen for myself. I am sure prices vary upon what you want done.
  20. To get the pulley off, I usually just take 2 prybars and get them behind the pully at about 4 o'clock and 8 o'clock positions then lightly pry them back and fourth and the pully will usually walk right off. I do leave the crank bolt on about 1 or 2 treads just to catch the pully just in case so I dont drop it. Putting it back on after the belt will not mess up your timing. I usually put the pulley back on with a impact gun(clean and apply wd40 or anti-sieze to treads and crank snout). You can tighten it to torque by stopping the flywheel by pulling the starter, put thats a PITA! If you have a strap wrench to wrap around the pulley, the tighten with a torque wrench. Good Luck!
  21. Make sure you are not touching the glass part of the bulb. The halogen bulbs are sensitve to anything touching the glass. The oils on your skin can leave a residue behind and take out the bulb.
  22. Wow, nobody has replied to this? Well I will to help those who want to play. Go up to capitol Forest near Olympia. You can access on the back side of Black Lake up the Waddle Creek entrance. That is the most popular. A lot of people go shooting in old gravel pits up there, but there are some pretty decent trails. I think you can get a map of the forest from DNR, or if you have a GPS device you can make your way around. I usually go up with my brother down near Littlerock near the Mima Mounds State Park. I know of mostly easy to moderate trails depending on how modified your Pathfinder is. I have not got super stuck yet, but have taken some damage, though not too bad. Its a little more interesting in the winter when plenty of rain has fallen. But, you can traverse some pretty nice trails and see some great terrain. Want any more info, just let me know! Here's a phot of one of the trails.
  23. In the words of Mini Mike, "Pimpin, Pimpin, Pimpin!" Great info and good people, and oh yeah, PATHFINDERS! I know im addicted, the wife tells me so!
  24. I dont think that there are aftermarket cat replacements for the 3.5L. The cats are located directly behind the exhaust manifold, they actually bolt together. I would imagine if there was a replacement, It would be talked about here.
