I just bought a 1988 Pathfinder here in Germany, where we are stationed with the US Army. Our intentions is for when we leave here, we are going to FL to start our SCUBA shop, and this Nissan is going to be our diving truck, as being a 4WD, there will be no dive site this puppy won't take us!

  1. March is tied up, becuase that is when the wife comes home for 2 weeks R&R.
  2. Hey, you're in the central FLA area, That's AWESOME. we are just above Clearwater.
  3. Well, I think i am gonna let the Pathy go, and pick up a Suburban my friend wants to get rid of due to the heavy gas milage it uses. For the record, the boat ramp i will be launching from is only two miles up the road from my house, no hills, and only two turns. But still, tho I don't want to get rid of the pathy, I really don't want to risk the piece of mind that a larger truck can offer.
  4. Yup, the Army shipped it for us, and as for the milage, I am not really sure, I never really tried to figure it. It was more of a snow-toy than a travel vehicle.
  5. will do. I don't want to sell my Pathy, as I have had alot of fun in it, but if I am to buy a bigger truck, my wife won't let me keep both....
  6. Howdy everyone, Been awhile since I've been here, as we have had a busy year moving from Germany back to the states, and seeing the wife off to the desert again, But I have a quick question for ya folks. I have an 88 Pathy, 4WD but only a 4 Cyl engine. I just bought a boat, a 23ft Sea Ray Weekender cabin cruiser. It's not a big boat, but not a canoe either. Do ya'll think the Pathy can pull it? I myself think it can, but the dealer who i bought the boat from thinks otherwise. But being that it is only a 4 cyl, I do have my worries. Thanks for any thoughts anyone can offer.
  7. SO, a TBI kit may be what is needed to repair it?
  8. Very good to know! Being that it's a german mechanic, and he barely speaks english (is the only one in our area that does speak English at all...) I wasn't too sure about that either... and to answer the question, I'm not sure... It started skipping and sputtering, and then got to the point where it would only stay running for a few seconds, and the only way to keep it running was to constantly press the gas pedel, and to drive it was horrible, it coughed and sputtered too much. My wife took it to the mechanic, they took out the TBI (he called it the carburetor) and says we need a new one... That's why I said "belly-up."
  9. We are stationed over here in Germany with the US Army, and my Pathy's carb went belly-up on us... bad thing is the mechanic working on it can't located a carburator, so I am wondering if any of you know a good place online I could try... I've tried Autozone.com, but they don't have anything... so I am open to all suggestions. And if any of you have parts yourself that you could sell, I am open to that option as well.
  10. Welcome, man!!! Great board here... I am new here myself, but I must say these are some very knowledgeable folks!
  11. whew!!!! Here I was beginnin to think I was the oldest here......LOL!!! Oh... wifie and I are both 33... I'll be 34 in April, she'll be in July
  12. I personally am finding this forum quite refreshing...As up until now, being a military spouse, the magority of the forums I have been used to have been Military Spouse Support forums, and lemme tell ya, them women really know how to cuss and fight!!!! So I like that this site exists... It reminds me that my fustrations can be gotten out on the off-road trail, and not on complete strangers here on the 'net.... Make sense? I am not for censorship, mind you, but I do believe in common sense... I won't say anything here that I wouldn't say to you if I was face to face with ya...just a matter of courtesy.
  13. We got us a fresh snow today...so I will be out getting taking what should be some AWESOME pics.... My just ride up to the Ronneburg Castle and check out some trails I've heard about up there!
  14. The Red one is an extended cap pickup with a camper, it is the pride and joy of the feller I bought the Pathfinder from.... He did the skid bars, the bush gaurd, and the wheels with offroad tires right before he sold it to me (not to mention the $800 stereo system)... the reason he sold it was because he was sinking money into both trucks, and his wife said one had to go, and the red truck is his "low rider" project, and wasn't about to part with it, so he sold the Pathfinder to me only for what he had put into it over this last year.... This is another pic showing the wheels, tires and such... This pick also shows his truck a lil better...The reason the pics have his truck too, is this was a few days before I bought it...I had to email the pics to my wife (the real boss of the family) in order to get permission to get it.
