  1. I feel as if it is time I reply to this topic. You all don't know how hard this is for me. I have screwed up, and it is time I address that. But, as some of you may realize, it's not all entirely my fault. Just to let you know what's been going on in my life, although you probably won't care, I have been suffering from MAJOR depression, and the Nissan community hasn't helped that AT ALL. I had suicidal thoughts, although I never attempted it. I was nearly divorced, I saw the papers. My life was falling apart. I am getting the help I need now, and things are getting better. My wife tried to sheild me from the outside world to protect me, and probably didn't help matters a whole lot. Lee deserted me. I wouldn't wish what I went through on my WORST enemy. This has probably put the final nail in the coffin of L&P. Yes, I put most of them there myself. I would like to try and rebuild L&P, but I'm not sure that that is possible. If people can CALMLY email me at phildawkns@aol.com and tell me what they want from me, I will reply to ALL of you and tell you what I can do and in what kind of timeframe. Please give me a few days to return your emails. I know I owe some of you money, and I know I owe some of you parts. Given time, I WILL make good on ALL my obligations. Phil
  2. The "small" end of both pitman and idler arms are all the same, ANY year, ANY truck, as long as it has a Centerlink. The "Big" end of the pitman arm is different. Up till about 1993, they used a smaller sector shaft, and hence, a smaller "big" end on the PA. From 1993 on, ALL trucks (with a CL) use the same size PA. They are NOT interchangeable. So, if you have a 1994 Pathy, you can use a Xterra PA on it. Same part. There is a NOTICABLE difference on the splined hole in the "big" end. I can identify them on sight. If you compare them, it's REAL easy to see. It might be advantagous to "upgrade" to the newer steering box. Bigger sector shaft would have to be stronger, methinks. However, I don't know if X or Fronty steering boxes would work, only becasue of the steering shaft connection. Stick with a Pathy/HB box and you should be OK.
  3. Who? I sure wish they'd contact ME! We were just a bit behind from the holidays, but are caught up now and doing fine.! Jeeze.....rumors.... Oh, and, I dissapeared? Seems it was this 'board that dissapeared. And, yes, I read around, and know the reason why. Unlike some folks starting rumors.
  4. First off, I HAVE emailed "wheel366". I won't post his email addy here for obvious reasons. I forgot that it's my fault if my email doesn't get through or get sent to his "Spam" folder. MXExtreme, thanks for all the help. You call me "incommunicado" when you have replied to a post of mine within the last week? And you probably have MORE ways to get ahold of me than ANYBODY? Again, thanks. And now, I REALLY become the bad guy when I state the the return address for cores has and is on the FRONT PAGE of the "Steering" section. And, yet again, I am put in a "no win" situation. No matter what I say or DON'T say, it just makes things worse, even if I'm right.
  5. Yes, you will have to swap pans and pickup at the least. Oil pump is (basically) the same. If you REALLY wanna get crazy, swap in a 300ZX oil pump. Higher volume. Also, the 4wd pan is deeper, but less total capacity, by almost a quart. But, the 2wd pan won't fit in a 4wd truck. At least not with the front diff and crossmember in place.
  6. In Illinois, for parks we have: Rockport Offroad Park The Cliffs Insane Terrain Also, there are a few "roads" in the Shawnee National Forest that are decent 4x4 trails. Never been on those roads, so don't know EXACTLY where they are, but have heard they ARE there. Someday, I will explore. I've been to both parks, and they are decent, although not huge. Something for about everybody at both parks. Some BADASS rocks at RORP. Watch The Cliffs when it's REAL wet. There are some "bottomless" mudholes there. Also, getting just a bit further away, the folks at RORP, Tom and Debbie Wombles, have opened up a NEW park just a few miles down the road in Missouri, called "Hannibal Rocks". Mostly rocks, from what I hear, but don't know. Haven't been there yet. There isn't a website for ity yet, but lots of info and links on RORP's home page.
  7. Will the back hatch glass from an '88 Pathy fit a '93 Pathy?
  8. FREE shipping on ALL L&P Steering Systems! (Lower 48 states only). Untill November 10, 2006. Get 'em now!!!! Just something else we are trying to do for you!!
  9. Yeah, I try to encourage them without forcing them. Maybe they'll be welding your next L&P Steering system!! Well, not anytime soon......hehehheee But I also know there not gonna learn much by not at least trying. I know the welds aren't great, but at least "it" holds together. And that's a step in the right direction at least. I try to teach them without it being too much like school so they hate it. At least they're interested and want to learn and do it. Hmmmmmmmmmm.....L&P and Son(s)....((LEE!?!?!))???? heheheheee
  10. My 11 year old son and a 16 year old friend of ours were out playing with my welder in the shop. This is what they came up with. First time the 16 year old had ever welded. Scrap metal out of the bin.
  11. Which is better, Ford or Chevy, McDonalds or Burger King? It's somewhat personal preference, and somewhat what you're gonna use it for. IFS is better for bumpy roads. SFA is better for articulation(Usually).
  12. I have a dream where I see myself in, sort of, Sun God robes, on a pyramid, with a thousand naked women screaming and throwing little pickles at me. Why am I the only person that has that dream?
  13. Oh good Lord. Is that all? Not surfing the interweb much? That's pretty mild stuff.
  14. I don't understand.....is this really cheap or expensive for this car? It looks like a reasonable price for it, although WAY more than I'd wanna pay.
  15. Ticker, not a problem. I'm just glad I've never done anything stupid.....yeah....RIIIIIIGHT. Anyway, glad all is good. We stand behind our products. We would...and WILL do whatever it takes to make things right. We don't want you or anybody else to feel like we abondon them after the sale. We are in it for the long haul. I'm not gonna lie, we want to sell more stuff. But not because our stuff breaks. You all of course know that we're becoming multi-millionaires from L&P, right? We really just want to help out the Nissan community, and not lose money in the process. I don't think thats greedy or wrong at all. Also, ask around and see how many systems we've given away at various events. more than 1 or 2. Remember the chat room? We don't just take....we give back too! Anyway, we're here for YOU!
  16. Because its COOL Dan!!!! Jeeze......don't you know ANYTHING??????? heheheheeeee Anyway, it does seem to be the cool thing to do among some of the young idiots...er... I mean drivers. Yeah...it's REAL fun....right up until somebody gets hurt.
  17. Yes, he emailed us, and I replied. But, to reinterate here, the Small and Large taper CL's measure about 30.5 inches. The Fronty/X CL's measure about 31.5 inches. Now, also note that these are not "micrometer accurate" measurements. I took them with a tape measure. Close enough for these purposes. So, by tha above information, he MAY(???) have had a Fronty/X CL on there??? I don't see it though. And, as you all know, or should know, we don't touch the TRE mounts. We don't change those at all. The heat MIGHT change them by a few thousandths of an inch at best, but I rather even doubt that. Also, if the TRE's fit in the holes correctly, then he has the correct CL. He has a '95 truck, which is DEFINATLY a Large taper, at least stock. The Fronty/X CL has an even LARGER taper than the "Large" tapered '93+ trucks. Also, we WILL work with him to get this figured out! We stand behind our product! Whatever it takes to make the customer happy. I hope I have answered a few questions here. But, if ANYBODY has more, PLEASE don't hesitate to ask! Phil Dawkins Steering Division, L&P Performance www.lpperformance.com
  18. I own a 1998 Durango. I love it. My inlaws liked it so much they bought a 2000 Durango. I have had no problems with mine, not even any little oil leaks. The little oil leaks in the 1999 scare me though.
  19. Well, I was gonna buy it....but I guess not now!! Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......
  20. Howdy! Welcome to NPORA, Nissan's and wheeling! Yes, this is Phil, the P in L&P here.Anyway, to address your concerns: Turn around. Week to 10 days. We've had people cancel their orders from "Other" companies to order ours, because after 3 months, they're still waiting. Shipping back. Yeah, I'll admit, it can be kind of a hassle. But, you can use the same box we send your system in, shipping isn't very much, and isn't it worth it to save ~$200? Down time. If you pay the core charges ahead of time, there is no real downtime, just install time. Which is at most, a few hours. Also note that we have a 5 year guarentee on the CL, which we believe NOBODY else offers. Ask around, we have the best bang for the buck. We feel that NO system is STRONGER than ours. We have not had the problems some of the other companies have had with their steering. We have had people pull other companies steering off to put ours on. More than 1. I've done about all I can do to convince you. Now the choice is yours. If you have ANY other questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
  21. Just thought I'd let you all know that L&P Performance has secured for you a Nissan 4x4 themed chat room. There are NO advertisements from L&P on the page, nothing like that. Just something L&P decided to do to give back to all of you. The link is: http://www.buzzen.com/chat/chatroom.php?rm=Nissan%204x4 This is a "permanent" chat room. It's there even when nobody is, 24/7. Talk about anything you like! Enjoy!
  22. I can't speak about a '95 exactly, but I swapped an '87 5 speed into a '88 auto truck. No ECU swap was necessary. I pulled the '88 TCU to have as extra parts. I wired the starter inhibit circuit to start no matter what. In gear, no clutch, whatever. I turn the key, it starts. Crossmembers were the same for me.
  23. Well, I believe part of it is, that HEAVEN FORBID should we spank or otherwise discipline our children!!
