  1. I have my 1999.5 Pathy that was built 1/99. I have 265/70-16 on it now, but plan on buying either Revos, Geolandars, BFGs, or Destinations. I am debating between 245/75-16, 265/70-16 or 275/70-16. I like the 275/70-16 idea the most, but didn't know if they were going to fit. Does anybody know of rubbing issues? 265/75-16 doesnt fit without a 1" lift, right? Also, there were some suspension changes starting with the 2/99 models... Does anybody know why the OME part number is different starting with the 2/99 date?
  2. Hey, I also bought my 1999.5 Pathy in May 2005 with 93k miles. I had no clue of if the timing belt was changed, and the engine being an interference design, the belt needed to be replaced. I paid the dealer to do it, and decided to change the a/c belt, water pump, and tensioner at the same time. Wise move to do it all. Good luck! FYI, I paid about $600 parts and labor.
  3. Is there no way to get the standard 99.5+ SE/LE flares, like the ones on mine? I have no idea if they are drilled in or not though?
  4. Nice! My Pathy came with two remotes from the QX4, they are nicer than the Nissan ones. They look the same but the semi-circle thing at the bottom that holds in the key ring is chrome, not black plastic. And they say INFINITI with the little logo on the bottom. Thanks for the help! P.S.- Does anyone know if the key from the Anniversary Edition 2001 Maxima can be programmed to work on my Pathy? Thanks
  5. Last night, I had to go pick up some under-the-influence friends after a movie. So I go to the Pathy and there is no charge at all. Not even enough to dimly light the dash warning lights. It ran after being jumped off with cables, but even then the battery wouldn't hold a charge. The headlights would dim when the brake lights went on. When I switched on my fogs everything would get dimmer. When I switched on my brights my stereo would cut out. So I wasn't sure if it was the alternator or the battery, so I took it to Pep Boys (I know, I know). But as it turns out, it was a good experience. Turns out my alternator belt was cracked in places and the cheap Napa battery was shot. So a new belt and Red Top Optima and $238.40 later, the Pathy is ready for action. Just thought I would share! BTW: I love the Red Top! -bounce-
  6. I will add, however, that you should not only look at octane rating but also brand. I have read over and over in enthusiast circles that Shell and Chevron with Techron have the best quality gasoline. I'm not too sure if the gas mileage, etc. is better, I just have read that it is refined the most. Thats why I fill up at Shell for a few more cents a gallon than an el-cheapo gas station.
  7. Yeah, I can see what you are saying but 1) I need the better fog bulbs because I actually drive in fog and 2) I like the look of my white headlights and corner bulbs and yellow bulbs in the factory fog housings. Later on I plan on adding some sort of driving lamp. There is a mod using the inexpensive round Hella 500 driving lamps, swapping the Hella bulbs with some from a KC Daylighter and using a 40w relay. I would mount these on the factory front bumper top, in front of the grill flanking the Nissan hamburger.
  8. Just plain 87. The 2001 switched to premium with the new 3.5L.
  9. I really appreciate this link. It's really quick and easy to register, and it saved me from buying a Haynes. Thanks!
  10. I don't know where you can buy a set of Terrano markers, but I do know that you can fit side markers from any car. My personal favorite is the MKIV (1999-2005) VW GTI/Jetta sidemarker. Of course, drilling is required, maybe you are less hesitant to drill into a fender than me. :o
  11. Okay, now I feel like a moron. Does anyone know how to change out the fog bulbs on the 1999.5 and up Pathys? Do you have to remove anything? Thanks
  12. Absolutely I can take some pictures. I do not, however, know how or where you can buy the outside spare carrier. It seems rather complex too. I should have time to take some pics today, let me try my best... Hosting won't be a problem, thanks for the offer though. I appreciate all of the compliments!
  13. I went ahead and ordered a pair of Piaa Ion Crystal H3 55w for my factory fogs from LTB Motorsports. I am hoping for good fog/snow/rain visibility, as yellow light (which these bulbs probuce) are better for cutting through inclement weather than white and especially blue lights. My new H4 Phillips Vision Plus headlights are pretty whitish in color, so these should complement them well. BTW, this store was the cheapest and had the best shipping options. I should get them before next Tuesday. Pics will come!
  14. Thank you for the compliment. I was looking for 4Runners to replace my pristine 1998 4Runner that my now ex-girlfriend wrecked into a tree: The Off-Road Pkg. is for real; it was only on the 1999.5 Pathfinders. It included the exterior spare and the viscous limited-slip rear-differential. I love my truck, and everyone thinks it is a brand-new Pathfinder. I wish I had the original window sticker to prove it! So does this mean that I have the rarest Pathy on the board?
  15. Haha, I bought the truck from a Private Seller off of Autotrader.com. I live in Atlanta, so I had to write "Tag Applied For" and tape it in the window. Ghetto, I know it. The front Montana plate is from when I lived in Bozeman, MT last summer. I think we are gonna go to the trails sometime this week; my buddy has a 2005 Pathfinder LE loaded to the gills; the General Crappers and the running boards + lack of serious skids makes that thing not fun to take on the trails. I have pics of that somewhere... I will post pics and maybe even video of four-wheeling, but I am a detailer by hobby, so this will be one clean Pathy. I dig body damage on $500 Jeeps, not nice Pathys. I will get OME springs and Revo's in the near future... Thanks for the kind words! P.S.- Anyone know how rare my 5-speed Off-Road Pathy is? I have never seen a 99.5 with the Off-Road Pkg.
  16. Thanks for the reply. I was 99% sure that the wiring would be fine, but you never know... I think I will be fine running the 60/55w bulbs. If you are looking for a truly brighter headlight, forget about the crappy Sylvania Sylverstars and get the Philips Vision Plus, a bulb that, along with the Osram Silverstars (the better version of the Sylvanias sold in Europe), is reasonably priced but is top-rated by the Euro mags. So I guess my 99.5 uses H4 bulbs in the headlights and H3 bulbs in the fogs?
  17. Hey y'all! I think I just bought a very rare Pathfinder.l It is a 1999.5 Sterling Mist/Charcoal cloth Pathy, with the Bose and Moonroof. 91k miles. IT HAS A FIVE-SPEED AND THE OFF-ROAD PACKAGE!!! (hence my username). I paid $8k in Scottsboro, AL. Pictures will come tomorrow, after some offroading! Is this one rare? Mine is the first 1999.5 I have seen with the external spare...I love it!
  18. Hey yall, I just bought a 1999.5 Pathy to replace my totalled 1998 4Runner. But I have a question. My 4Runner's headlights were the H4 bulbs (Phillips Vision Plus - Power Bulbs). But what are the Pathfinders headlights? The owners manual is not in the car... I think H4 is in the head lights? Is there a such thing as frying the wiring harness using these bulbs? 12V 60/55w. Thanks so much!
