  1. I am also keen on buying a complete kit if offered .
  2. Just crossed the 100,000 Kilometers on my 2005 R50
  3. That is a good point to consider bcs i often take my pathy airborne , actually i was going airbone the previous week end before the chain was stretched . Thank you
  4. I have been in touch recently with SteeevO , the Atlas looks very tempting despite installation complexity
  5. Steve you were right that something changeable inside the T case might have broken . MY1PATH , you got it bull’s eye , I opened the T case and it was the chain as you indicated thanks for the valuable information . I got the chain for 410 $ and it is fixed now , thank you for the valuable contribution . Now that my T case is fixed , I would postpone thinking about the Atlas until I break it another time and get a reason to spend this amount of money . Steve you are right about the priority of the lockers in such obstacles rather than the low gear ratio , let us see I have been eyeing the air lockers for a while now , yet there are other priorities for this spend , I need a reason to spend this money , maybe I shall break my diffs
  6. Well I sure hope you are right Guys , here the concept of repairs relies on throw and fit new as driven by the agencies and due to lack of good mechanics and good garages . However the prices I got are hilarious , the dealership is asking 4,400 usd for the transfer case which is not available and the used transfer case from a scrap yard is 800 usd , it makes perfect sense to repair my T case in this case . Steve you are making me worry about the installation of the Atlas in case I go for it , I never thought it would be a complex project My1Path thanks for the details it is very helpful I have my T case opened on Thursday and check it out , meanwhile I will try and get the diagram from the dealer . Also thanks for giving the right ratio I knew something was wrong when I posted above 4.3:1 as factory gear ratio it seems I got it wrong I got the axle ratio instead of the gear ratio .Surely the Paty does not feel like having low gear ratio , this is my main problem when wheeling. I agree with you on the wear and tear and I would be expecting that being an off-road enthusiast it is an expensive hobby but I hate break downs I am very tempted by the Atlas with a gear ratio 4.3:1 or 3.8:1 , I like to crawl as slow as possible , I am aware of the possible damages on the other hand I am thinking that for the money I will pay for the atlas I could have Paty locked and the T case repaired . Damn I guess I am tempting and confusing myself more , when you are hooked up with off-road I think it becomes a game of upgrades where one would spend a lot of $ most of the time out of his credit card .
  7. I was out last week end for some wheeling and when I was overcoming an obstacle when my wheels where spinning on the rocks I started hearing a cling cling noise ( Ouch ) , I thought I had broken my front diff , so I went on 2wd reversed and managed to get back home on 2wd as the Pathy was clinging and jerking when engaging the 4wd while I ran normally on the 2wd . Immediately I had my eyes on the kilometer and I realized that I had 100,020 km on the clock by the time I was back home it was 100,200 km and I was hoping to cover any damage under my 100,000 km warrantee offered by Nissan When I took it to the workshop they told me it was the transfer case , and delightfully told me that I have passed the 100,000km and they would not cover it under the warrantee I am considering the Atlas transfer case to have it as a replacement to the OEM It is offered with various low ratio options of 3.8:1 4.3:1 (same as the factory ratio) 5.0:1 and 6.0:1 At first I was so excited to take the one with the lowest ratio but now I am considering the effect of the increased ratio on the other OEM components Anyone who have had the Atlas gear box on his R50 ? or anyone who has lowered his gear ratio that can share his experience would be of a great help to help me make my decision whether to go for modifiying the transfer case or fixing an OEM ? You can hear the transfer case breaking at the beginning of this clip

Thanks the moderator of the truck of the moth likes it , my chances are higher now Dave how I wish I could have more time in these sceneries , In 2 weeks I should be able to drive it on snow yeyy looking forward to Yea I felt it , and it reduces the clearance on the approach angle . 15. Although I was restoring on the 300 GE Paty was not forgotten , she have had recently some cosmetics upgrades with plans for more upgrades . While in Lebanon I have got her the bulbar , the original one for the R50 , I was having concerns about the weight but I was surprised to find out how light it is I have also installed the roof rails and the back tow bar and I am not sure if this part is called wind breaker it is the one installed on top of the back door I really like her new look When I fixed the bulbar I noticed that there is a chance to fix the winch on the connecting bar of the bulbar behind the bumper , still an idea need to verify how due able it would be Sharing some photos of the new look GreetinGs of the season Shebl
  16. Greetings Pathfinder fellows As some of you may remember 6 month ago I salvaged a 300 GE from the junkyard , and made all necessary paper work to re register it and allow it on the road . The vehicle has been in the junkyard for almost 3 years . Well I am today in about 50 % of my project the G is running now not in perfect health condition but I was able to take it an off-road trip before it broke down today on the road as mentioned in another post . To give you an update on the work done so far . Cosmetics : Done : Stripped the truck to the metal and I was very pleased to see that it had no sign of previous accident nor a single spot of rust . Painted the cabin from inside and outside in Olive green and the under chassis in black New shiny signal pointer covers for front ( Orange ones ) New upholstery done for the dashboard , the steering wheel , the seats and doors . New cover for the flooring and trunk Roof covered with chamois Console painted in a lacquer coat to shine ( still considering fixing a new part ) I know the interior could have been done better but due to lack of expertise and parts in Qatar I found it to be satisfactory with the means that I have around here . To be done : Change the speedometer Fix the sun roof Fix new rubber frame to the back doors Fix new head lights ( crystal type ) Mechanics : Done : Installed a new battery 100 I have removed the fuel tank and washed it Changed the fuel pump / fuel filter / air filter spark plugs and spark plugs wires Oil and oil filter Removed the radiator and had it flushed and reworked the pipes inside it . I have changed also the break pads and break linings without changing the disks as they proved to be in good condition . I have kept the original rims and fitted 31 x 10.5 x R15 Kumho road venture MT tires on it . To be done : Change the distributor ( found out today ) Change the part under the distributor 103 07 ( found out today ) Change the water pump ( found out today ) Change the steering pump Change the shock absorbers ( Postponed as I am still thinking whether to go for a 3 “ lift or not ) Find out why the lockers are not working and fix them Change the water tank for the wind shield washer and the head light washer ( cracked due to heat and sun effect ) Fix the exhaust spring is leaking and check other exhaust depots ( the truck is so loud that I cant hear the phone while driving ) and it smells the smoke inside the cabin on high speed . Heat from the gear box is getting into the cabin ( need to fix this problem anY suggestions ??? ) Wish list : Snorkel Suspension lift 35” tires Winch Military rims Roof top tent ( preferably Maggiolina from auto home or ARB simpson III ) Some pictures comparing before and after Before After ReG Shebl
  17. Hello there Lady and Gentlemen , it has been a while I was away from the forum , too much was happening to get time to surf . I am surprised with the new look for the forum and I wonder where all the old posts have gone ??? I am glad to announce that I have been blessed with a 2nd healthy daughter back in September end . And hey she had her first ride out of the hospital in a lifted R50
  18. I just enrolled my R50 2005 model , yes I know it is confusing but here in this part of the world we still had R50 pathfinders till year 2005
  19. This is the result of the 265 / 75 / R16 on stock suspension , Under flex The tire ripped the bumper off Apart form that the front ones were rubbing against the bumper's mud guard
  20. Congrats it was a good voting this month with close results
  21. Ditto , here between a car and another you will find a land cruiser or a patrol an my Paty is reffered to as the little truck ( which is visualy true the Pathy next to a Patrol or and LC looks like a midget ) but hey i surely love it when the little truck keeps up with the big boys I am loving my Paty every day ( but not like the guy in the other topic hehehe)
  22. Tek you definitly spoke for me Amen to whomever took the move , we all owe you Heal the world make it a better place for me and for you and the entire NPORA race
  23. True this Pezzy was right from the beginning I have started this WD vs R50 but along the way the discussion took off another course To sum up all what I said the comparison of H3 vs H1 not fair to be projected to the comparison of R50 VS WD Being stock each of the R50 and the WD have ADVANTAGES in different areas
  24. I am not bias to the R50 as I do own a 2008 FJ and a Mercedes G wagon which both outperforms the Pathy but the reason I like the R50 is that when I bought her I thought it is for grocery shopping and I am now surprised how wrong I was about this truck and the reason I defend her is because the R50 is like me when I first bought her is not considered as an off-road vehicle than can compete decently There will always be advantages to each vehicle on different terrains and that’s why I mentioned in my previous posts the word ADVANTAGE and didn’t presume which one is a better off road vehicle as the decision needs to be based on endless points When one has enough experience he can judge with moderation and common sense as Pezzy mentioned in some places the H3 will have an advantage over the H1 as same goes for the R50 and WD … I will be home in september and my in law has a 4 runner , will convince him for a joint trip R50 and 4 runner , i have driven the 4 runner and it is manual with much higher torque than my R50 maybe i have to take him to places to my advantage
  25. I'de choose Zahle , lebanon I would love to have a conversation and hear opinions but with people who can lead one as the majority of the members of this forum Apart from missing the point of the H3 and R50 being compared with H1 and WD the replies about the VQ and the WD engine powers proved the ignorance point which you have raised . If you do not have self respect then out of respect to the forum and community try to keep up to the level of conversation without using bad words , do you find it difficult ?
