I posted way back on the first page of this poll, and now I've got 144,000 on my 95 Pathfinder SE auto. Just replaced the original alternator. List of items repaired in the last 5 years Timing belt Battery Oxygen sensor Turn signal switch Alternator. That's the total items replaced in 5 years of driving! Of course many oil changes, one transmission fluid change, and that's it . Never had a more reliable vehicle and I've owned many vehicles (more than 20) Still love the Pathfinder, even though I've got a Suburban, and a Chevy 350 V8 short bed 5 speed pick up truck as well. Check out E bay.com There are bumpers on there for Pathfinders for around $80.00 including shipping. My 95 has new bumper ends, but I've got two spots of rust right where it connects to the frame on the chrome bumper. I'm looking at replacing the rear bumper also. E bay is a great source of parts for our Pathfinders. Check it out.

Bought my 95 about 5 years ago with 116,000 miles on it for $5,000. USA money. I've driven it 30,000 miles since then, with only one problem. Oxygen sensor went bad. That is a pretty good reliability factor. I did have the timing belt replaced when I got it, and I've also had the auto trans fluid replaced by the dealership. Other than that, it's started every time, uses NO oil, and has never left me stranded anywhere. These things are truly great vehicles. Best of luck finding one. I've had mine off roading numerous times, and it's never gotten stuck, and it's done things I didn't think was possible. I've replaced the rear chrome bumper ends that were rusting (very cheap fix), as well as removed the rusted out step rails. Need to replace the rear chrome bumper that has a couple of rusty spots at the contact points, but other than that it's still in great shape. My Pathfinder's pictures are listed among the 95's on this site on the beach in Florida. Truly amazing vehicles. Good luck.

I've got a 95 SE and my locks do little tricks as well. I'm in the habit that was mentioned above, I never leave my key in the ignition unless I open a window. The problem usually happens in the dead of winter, very cold conditions. The spare key idea is a very good one. These things are tricky, but worth the trouble. Great vehicles.

My check engine light came on and flickered off and on for a couple of days, then it came on and stayed on. I had no idea what it was, and Auto zone couldn't check the codes, because I've got a 95 and it's not the quick hook up that Auto Zone uses. To check the code on mine, you have to fiddle under the seat I think. Anyway, took it to the dealership and it was a faulty oxygen sensor. They found out which one (I think mine has three) and changed it for about $125.00 if I remember correctly. Never had another problem with that light.

I stopped by the local Nissan Dealership this evening after work, and picked up a new headlight, turn signal switch. $72.85 plus $4.37 tax brings the damage to $77.22. Thing is, that fixed it! Must of been something internally wrong with the switch. Can't complain really, with over 142,000 miles on it, that's only the second thing I can think of that I've had to repair. An Oxygen sensor went out a year ago, or so, but that's it, as far as repairs go, in the last four years. Not to shabby. Great vehicles. Thanks again for all the help guys.

I've got a 95 with 143,000 miles on it, and I've gotten 20 mpg on a trip, in the summer. I usually get around 16-17 mpg in the winter, going to work and back. The overdrive doesn't kick in till I'm half way to work when it's cold. It sits outside and I'm sure if I kept it in the garage, the od would engage much sooner. This is my economy vehicle. I've also got a Suburban 4X4 that gets 14 mpg on a regular basis. Anyway, weather does make a difference.

I get on here when I need help. Being the owner of a 95 Pathfinder, I've not needed help very often. They are great vehicles. That's the only answer I can give for the low posts. I view this site often, but only post when I can offer a suggestion that hasn't been posted before. I do appreciate everyone's help and suggestions. We all do.

As to our membership numbers, I was wrong, I'm listed as member number 108, not 106, my mistake. Thing is, if you look at our membership starting dates, I joined on the 23rd of December 2003, and you joined the 3rd of March, 2004, which would put you behind me in the numbers. Here's another consideration. If you look at my Pathfinder's picture on the site where you look at the member's trucks I'm listed as member number 176. I don't know what is going on here, but it makes me think the numbers are all screwed up. Anyway, I'm still glad we have this site for all us Pathfinder freaks. It's great to know that whenever you have a problem, there are 2,000 folks out there to help you out.

I've owned a 95 Pathfinder for over 5 years and joined this site a few years ago. I was bragging to my son tonight about being member # 106 out of almost 2,000 members . My son owns a 2001 Xterra that he bought new, and it now has over 78,000 miles. He was interested in the Xterra because it was so much like my older pathfinder. He's driven it all this time with absolutely no problems whatsoever. Never been in the shop for anything. He does all his own oil changes and brakes, etc. He joined Xterra Owners Club in the year 2000, and was member number 651. He just looked up the current info on that site and it now has over 15,471 members. We were discussing the difference in memberships. I told him that the reason NPORA was so low was due to the fact that Pathfinders are now so expensive that nobody takes them off road when they buy them. It's only rich yuppies that buy them now. You can tell by looking at the members pictures. 95 was the peak year by far. So this site is used mostly by guys with older Pathfinders. It's an amazing site and we all are very thankful for Mr. Jim, and all he does. Xterras were marketed to the same folks that used to buy the older Pathfinders. They go the same places and do the same things. My son and I have both taken our trucks to the "Badlands" in Attica Indiana for some off road fun and my old Pathfinder can do almost anything his Xterra can do. I just found it amazing that the Xterra site has so many members, when that vehicle is almost the same thing as our old trusty Pathfinders, with a different body.

I took the switch out, removed the plastic cover over the contacts, cleaned all the contacts , cleaned all the posts in the connector, put it all back together and the headlight still came on. So then I took a strip of electrical tape, slipped it underneath all the contacts, so not one contact could energize. plugged it back in, and the light still came on. Cleaned every ground connection I could find, it still came on. So I'm picking up a new headlight/turn signal control switch Tuesday evening. It was $72.00 at the Nissan Stealership, so I'll let you know if that was the problem. I thought maybe something was messed up inside the switch. Thanks again for the suggestions.

I've had this 95 Pathfinder for over 5 yrs, and have had no problems with it, but now, for no reason, the passenger side headlight comes on when it's sitting in the driveway. I drove it around last weekend, and it never came on the entire day, then when I parked it, that evening, the headlight came on, and drained the battery. It's done it two times before as well. What to do? Is there a fix? I know electric problems are the worst to fix, but give me some hints. I've cleaned the battery posts, and secured all the connections I can find, and still no good. Any help out there? Thanks.
