  1. 87-89 were orange. When the brought the 4 door in it went to white lights. My friend has a 90 and they're white. Someone swapped that speedo, and they probably found a nice low mileage one to put in. I'd be replacing the timing belt asap if you haven't already.

  2. camped north of the pass and went thru Saturday afternoon. Snow was all melted for extra creek runoff and perfect weather conditions! 11/10 will do again. A mile or so past the summit coming down into the dunes Creek crossing beauty shots looking down the pass looking back from the sand

  3. Hello! I'm late to join, but I've had my 1999 (or 99.5... not sure) for over nine years. Bought it with 125k miles for $5k bucks, and it's still going strong 70k miles later! So far, everything's stock, but looking to get a little more aggressive. The front CV joints are shot, so that's next on my repair list if you have any tips. In the future, looking at swapping the autolocking hubs for manuals (debating the Mile Markers at $100 vs. the Warn at ~$350), and doing some kind of lift.

  4. Well it's certainly kept me trapped on this forum for the past 2 years, despite not having a Nissan for quite a while now lol. Nobody's been naughty lately, my shackles and whips are getting dusty. ?

  5. I actually just saw a Terrano for sale locally that had the brilliant white dash, was a very original car so perhaps they were fitted to the JDM cars (at least in the earlier years)?

  6. I believe the instrument cluster was the traditional Nissan orange in the 87-92 Pathfinder/pickup. I believe they changed to the white with the 93 model year. My 93 SE had the white from factory. The dual trip meters was found in the SE, and I believe the LE. One other fun things is the speedometer went from being a mechanical (cable driven) unit to an electric one in the 94 model year. The 93 was an odd duck in its gauge cluster was a one year only and just a little different than all the others. We lost the voltmeter, oil pressure and the fuel sub gauge that could be found in the older ones.

  7. Fitted up my 33" spare - 255/75r17 to match my 255/85r16 tyres. Also a BFG MT. Only JUST fitted - very tight. Had to let it down to about 4 PSI. Would have gone in more easily if the towbar was just a little further out. I think my bar must differ from US spec ones as some here have fitted 33" spares no worries. In case you're wondering, the factory Nissan towbar is incredibly strong. I broke a Toyota towbar in half at the tongue weld when doing a moderate recovery with an 8 ton snatch strap... and yes, I removed the ball and replaced it with a shackle. Also went on a fun evening trip with the Land Rover club down at the Ashley River. 18 vehicles. I was the only Nissan. Lots of slippery mud and a few nice off camber bits and ruts.

  8. At the other end of the spectrum, it's possible he swapped out the rest of the dash for a USDM one and swapped his original KMH speedo back in! haha Although my Aussie '87 has the orange characters and the single odo. Most likely a later speedo changed in.

  9. +1 on someone likely swapping out the speedo. The odometer is part of the speedo, so unless the PO went to great pains to make it match the (presumably) dead gauge they took out, it's probably not correct. I haven't had an orange dash apart, but I assume the tint is a layer of orange paint or plastic between the bulbs and the gauge. It might be difficult to match, but yeah, if you can find orange condoms for the bulbs (or orange LEDs), that might get it close enough.

  10. Interesting. Wonder if the speedometer head got replaced with a newer unit. My 93 was the white on black like yours, but for all the gauges. I personally dislike the orange Nissan uses, I have to turn up the illumination to see it clearly. I have a hard time seeing in the red end of the spectrum. Some orange bulb caps should get it closer at night.
